    A few weeks back I saw this on Scooteria's channel. I was tempted to order it from Europe at the time. So glad I waited till it got Robot approved. Just now ordered the non black version from Scooter West. Before I saw the video I was going to buy a different dipstick as the black one that comes standard is hard for me to read. That feeling of not knowing if I read the oil level correctly will now be a thing of the past. Thanks Scooter West and Robot for adding this item to your inventory.

    I went to my official Vespa dealer and let them install this set. They filled it up completely (just a minimal airbubble) but for sure not even in the middel. and keep telling me that this is good like this.

    would be nice if they put the sight glass on the same side you put oil in! ha, regardless this is awesome. and great video too!

    • @diesdasa
      @diesdasa 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      To put the sight glass on the right side, you would need to replace the whole right engine cover. The part itself is much more expensive and the job to replace the right ignition cover is more expensive as well. In Europe there is some kind of extension hose available that you replace the original Dipstick with.

    One question: can the clutch also be blocked by just using the rear break?
    Thanks in advance and greetings from Germany

    • @diesdasa

      Nein, aber du kannst einen dicken Schraubenzieher oder den Stumpf von nem 8mm bohrer in die Aufnahme für das Spezialwerkzeug stecken.

    I find it funny that you said silver engine and drive covers look dated. Block was very popular several times in the past 1.3 centuries one of the most resen black fads was in th 1980. But that is fashion every thing comes back around.

    16:20 You should've cleaned the area of the dripping oil before putting the gasket on.
    If you can't wait, just tilt the bike to the right and just wipe off the excess oil.

    • @JakeM218
      @JakeM218 ปีที่แล้ว

      15:40 He said to tilt the bike to drain all the dripping oil, but that he’s rushing through this to make the video a bit shorter.

    Hey Robot! This is a great product! Would it be possible to add an oil pan from the earlier GTS that has the fill tube on it? I believe I’ve seen a German shop that has installed one and has filler tubes in both sides. Would be a great solution to leave the exhaust side filler alone.
    Thanks!

    Does the GT Vespas have valve stem seals ? There were some early Honda motorcycles that never had valve stem seals & they used more oil & needed topping up between services .I have never had to top up oil on any motorcycle or scooter between scheduled oil changes .I have a 125 Malaguti Madison with a Yamaha / Miranelli 2 valve 12•2 horse power liquid cooled engine .It has top speed of 65 - 75 mph ( on good day ) that used negligible or no oil between services .I believe the Vespa engines have plain main bearings ,that is basically a thin film of oil fed under high pressure .Those sight glass are very handy ,providing they don’t get a milky coating on the Inside of glass caused by crank case condensation mixing with oil .due to short distance runs .

    • @vespaservice2856
      @vespaservice2856 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The new engine burns oil past the piston rings when they are used at higher speeds. No issues with the valve stem seals like many older 4-stroke engines.

    • @maskedavenger2578
      @maskedavenger2578 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@vespaservice2856 I suppose when you look at it ,the Vespa scooters were never really designed.to be ridden for long periods at top speed .They are more suited to slicing & dicing city & suburban traffic at moderate speeds of about 30 - say 50 mph cruising .So unless they are being used at top speeds for long distances the oil usage will be negligible .What does impress me about the Vespas is they are capable of high mileages if they are serviced correctly & regular .I was thinking of buying the 125 Primavera touring spec model here in U.K. but the Vespas command a very high insurance due to them being targeted by thieves ,stolen to order .So I was looking at the Liberty S as they have the larger wheels & not as popular in the U.K. & less of a target for the scooter thieves .Does the Liberty have a similar long lasting engine ?

    Though nothing was touched, after I installed this oil pan, which was a pretty easy install following this video, My Sei Giorni picked up a squeal during acceleration. It occurs during a slow speed acceleration and primarily when turning left. It sounds like its coming from the housing area, but I cannot confirm that. I'm going to explore a little more today. It's a '21 with only 1900 miles on it so I cannot think that the belt would be squealing. Anyone with anything similar? ROBOT- help a brother out!
