      @@electricmeatpuppet First, it's an amp period. Meaning you can do whatever you like with it, not talking about this version by the way, talking about roland cubes in general which went up to 80 watts, don't know what's the current range to be honest. So yes, wouldn't hesitate for a second gigging with a cube. I have quite a few vintage modulation pedals, original CE2, 70's Mistress and Small Stone and so on and never had any issues throwing them in the signal path with this amp, like I said, it takes anything an more and still sounds pretty good and clear, takes fuzzes, OD, you name it.

    • @wea69420
      @wea69420 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@frmadeira most mod pedals, particularly vintage ones, were made to be put in front of the amp. Feeding a delay pedal into the pre amp of a high gain sound will sound shit 90% of the time, so for the most part you're stuck with the delays and reverbs that are built in.

For shits and giggles, in the late 90's, I used a small 'Crate' practice amp in the band I was in here and there. We direct-lined it out with a pedal or two and it held it's own against everything else in the band (bass amp and Marshall stack). Roland make great solid state amps! I own an older Roland cube 15 and it has never let me down. You can find them cheaper than you would think and they rock. I have been playing on it for over 15 years. Sounds great when paired up with a tube amp, makes things tighter in the bass region. The little push button selector switch will get dirty over time, so just but some C.R.C. electronics components cleaner, and spray it every now and then.

    I was doing prao (or whatever work practice was called in Sweden) at a music store in Gothenburg when the original microcube came out, and recall it sounding awesome for such a small thing. Later when I moved back to Finland my school had the bigger 60 watt version of it, which was even better thanks to the bigger speaker.

    Hey Ola, you just made me glad I invested in a pretty dynamic Amp. Yeah bro, I put it in the deep with the bass. But it's great to incorporate sounds on my "Loop Station". This Micro and loop station have me hooked. I didn't realize how much I knew. Thanks for reinforcing that.

    I have the older version of this amp. Guy at work (not a guitar player) was using it to play MP3's from his phone through, and he didn't like the way it sounded, so he gave me the amp. Me, I think it's a great little amp to travel with!

    I love the microcube, people joke about the extreme setting on the cube but the rest of the settings the Classic stack, R-fier and brit combo sounds really good.
    All you need to do now is to put in an external cab output on it and make magic happen.

    I owned a small Roland Cube amp many years ago and it was really good....obviously solid state but it chugged and had a few Boss effects built in and a Reverb and was built like a German tiger tank....good amps....
