Same with the Tron cabinet. Add in games like Gorf, Satan's Hollow, Solar Fox, etc. Put that stick to good use. Mad Planets would be a cross over but still a cool choice.
Good explanation Mike B. Nice simple video. We don’t need a 3 hr stream to discuss this. Doesn’t take a Harvard MBA to read a press release to figure it out. They are going to use the money to create games and to help cash flow their business needs. They essentially are receiving this line of credit in relation to their accounts receivable(invoices billed to their customers that haven’t been paid yet). This is a highly liquid asset so that credit company is willing to take the risk and lend 1up the funds. They also take over the collections of the accts receivable. It is an easier capital funding option for a small company like 1up.
I would be happy of they did a Star Wars or Tron Deluxe or XL. Love the cabs and never purchased one. I need some more single play cabs for the corners of the arcade.
Michael they secured the loan using their receivables that people owe to them. Those are the highest interest rate type of loans out there. What this is telling us is that people are not paying them and their A/R is getting old. This is not a good sign
This is an easier type of capital financing to get in comparison to other financing options and it is commonly used with smaller companies. Quick and easy capital for accounts receivable balances. They are also typically take over the accts receivable invoices and are responsible for the collections.
They're going to do something stupid like offer "In House" financing options. Make money by loaning money. I would be interested in larger Star Wars or Tron cabinets. I like board games, but the Infinity Game Tables are way too expensive.
I'd like to walk into a Best Buy and see Star Wars but while they are at it add in Road Blasters, Hydra and Stun Runner. Fire Fox would never happen but I can dream. License cost would probably be rediculous. If my Pac-Man Deluxe can have 14 games now it only makes sense to put on other games that use the same controls. Hmmm... Thought about it more. A Star Wars cabinet with a gas pedal would look kinda weird.
I wish you could special order a previous cabinet that they aren't producing anymore (in particular the Dragon's Lair cab) By the time I was aware of Arcade1Up they were gone.
Most likely they are talking about payment plan options for their customers like when people use Klarma to short term finance low dollar amount purchases.
Haha I have a live stream scheduled for tonight to talk about thus... not trying to spam. Just noting I didn't miss it 😊 John D shared it earlier today in his AMA. I'll be walking through the explanation and biz fundamentals on this... so riveting content. Lol
Yeah not sure what else you can explain beyond what the press release explains about them getting a 20 mil line of credit. It specifically states in the news article that they are going to use this money to get back to making video games and this now officially explains why they haven’t done much until now. It doesn’t take a Harvard MBA to figure this out.
I’ll buy Star Wars as soon as they rerelease. If they did a Deluxe or XL version, that would be ideal for me, but I would be happy for a remake at this point.
Why not just come up with a machine that can add licensed roms to it so we can choose what games we want on a machine? Semi custom machine would be awesome! Get more licenses and yes I’m aware of raspberry pi’s etc but if they could do something where we can choose would be great!
I'd like to fantasize that the live stream Arcade1up did on Instagram a while ago where they asked the people watching what games they'd like to see was done because they're flush with that $20 million and deciding what direction(s) to move. I'm going glass half full on this one Brother 🖖
We’re still talking about a company, that as far as I can tell, with the exception of some Costco shill reposts on their IG long after the products were being sold, didn’t bother to even announce their last TWO product launches. Couldn’t be bothered to send an email… no mention of their existence on the website. Cannot, just cannot, do the bare minimum. If they’re trying to stay in business, the silent treatment continues to be an interesting strategy.
STILL LOVE MY "BIG BLUE" AND "JOUST" CAB BUT THE ATGAMES LEGENDS ULTIMATE AND PINBALL CABS GET WAY MORE USE AND ARCADE 1UPS ARE JUST MINI ART PIECE FLACKING 60" TV 📺 IN MY COMMONS ON THE WAY TO 70" IN THE LIVING ROOM ... NOT SOLD ON NEW CABS AFTER THOSE BAD SCREENS
Good to see they’ve received an infusion of cash. Concerning however that tastemakers could not generate the cash internally; by their business. They’re going further into debt.
Regarding re-releases. Star Wars, Tron, Dragon's Lair(Let's add some other Laser disk titles like Cliff Hanger, Bega's Battle, Astron Belt, M.A.C.H 3, Thayer's Quest, Super Don Qix, ect.., to the DL cab mix!), Big Buck Hunter XLs YES! Deluxe versions...ok. Another Golden Tee, Pacman, most others... 👿
Honestly I don't know. The haven't released a new game since John D stopped working there, so I'm not sure if they even have anyone who would know how to get a license. I know John D's been hush hush about what he's doing, but I'm wondering if he's building a consulting firm that companies can hire to do the things that he did at A1U (licensing, hiring developers, etc). If that's the case, maybe they can use some of that money to hire his firm.
Yep, this is good news... if we DON'T see new licensing deals and new products, there will literally be no excuse. They have the cash, now they need to deliver the goods!
Customer credit needs..... Introducing the arcade1Up credit card is coming 😆 This way anyone wanting to pickup a home arcade now can and you'lll get points towards new purchases with a low interest rate of 43.99% APR 😂 Or maybe that agreement will also allow customers to do installment payments? Or maybe it means absolutely nothing and was a typo.
@@MichaelBtheGameGenie Well as you said last night, people who spent money on this stuff while stuck at home are no longer stuck at home. They're spending that money on vacations. So if the average customer they're gonna go after can't drop that kind of money anymore without it hurting bad immediately, I'd be asking myself, How can that company investing in me also help my customers buy my products, because that benefits my company, which of course also benefits that same company that just invested in me 😁 So get them to leave a store with a cabinet, or order one online, pay nothing up-front to get it home, maybe pay nothing for 3 months, then have options on payment plans if they need it. Still allow that impulse buy that doesn't hurt my customers wallet all at once now, and it doesn't even hurt all at once later either, even with a small interest charge. I dunno, but I'd be thinking of something that's more flexible than my customer having to decide whether they want to dump it on their normal credit card. Take away that decision and allow them to just get it home! 😎
Doesn’t matter guys, the company will fail, mark my words. People don’t understand how small this arcade community is… Let’s rewind…. Their rapid success was largely tied to the pandemic. It was a new concept at a moment in time where a ton of 30-50 year old men were stuck at home looking for something new. Factor in that stimmi money, sprinkle in a ton of nostalgia and you’re off to the races. Then what? Product becomes stale, Pandemic ends, Stimmi money runs out, people are back in office, kids back in school, inflation rises, and now there are easier and more cost effective ways to access and play retro games . It would take a completely new lineup, significant product enhancements at half the price to maybe, just maybe breathe a little life but if you’re honest and truly understand business, you know this was all circumstantial and never sustainable. It’s over…
Flush with an emergency loan 😂 That should tell everything we need to know about their actual net profit, after all the revenue jargon. Revenue is nothing without gross and net profit. 😉 Added: Somebody must still be left there who can "sell".
@@MichaelBtheGameGeniebut the cabinets that he doesn't like... Still sell. You can't say "they're not listening" when they put put Simpsons like the community wanted.. Which flopped... Space Invaders + Space Invaders Part II in one Partycade

A 2 player Golden Axe deluxe or House of the Dead cab would be GREAT.
Yes and yes.
i would do anything for a house of the dead cab! ive been saying this for years!!
I have access to CNN, MSNBC and FOX News, I don’t need a new arcade that provides news.

Have to agree. This is a high risk maneuver.
4th largest brand in gaming? Boy every other gaming company must be in financial trouble
They keep using it in their press releases i find it questionable as well
They are #4 in consoles sold. Not in total sales like game development companies.
Mike…I’ll believe it when I see it. I bet this money is for other stuff
It’s money to buy stock in Atgames! 😂🤣
Cocaine and hookers? I guess we will see

If they happen to do a HOTD, Rush, Hydro Thunder or NARC.
Then they have my full attention.
Oh sweet, I wonder what the next pacman cab will look like with all this spare cash now
Right??
Awesome now they can release the highly sought after X-men Pub Table
Let’s see another round of releases…Defender and Centipede
I gotta say @MichaelB, I just dig your intro song. This is coming from a long time Castlevania Fan 😁😁.
