Thanks Brad, they release rehashes issues all over the place they release new releases they hide stuff from you, it’s like you can’t win and unless they get hit in the pocket book they will continue with the bare basics. For me I’m not that much of a nit picker I’m just hoping the components lasts awhile that’s my biggest fear.

Thanks Mike, this could’ve been so much more but at the same time so much less. Imagine if locations were able to copyright, we would get 8 tracks in the end to go along with the 8 cars. I’m bummed about the crowd and FNF lady at the beginning of each race missing, its like they even wanted no part of this Frankenstein version but I did I like her voice much better, ready, set go!
Problem is I did feel it Rumble at one point but then it stopped maybe hitting walls harder may have caused it, it could be in the settings as well. I checked the settings and the Rumble was on for both games it’s just not as prominent as one would think. Thanks for the comment
Imagine them releasing MK and having it be Mk2 and when you play Mk2 only Jax, Mileena, Kitana, Kung Lao, Baraka, and Shang Tsung are the only playable characters while they put the remaining including Sub Zero and Scorpion in Mk 1 only. That’s what they did here with the tracks.
Thanks Matt. I just got done playing all 18 tracks on both sets of game. There is a learning curve but it’s a lot better than I thought it would be. Sound is incredible, steering is solid. Just a few glitches and screen tearing at some points when you are tearing through buildings and bridges where it bottoms out but I’ve seen much worse.
I played it in the arcade back in the day been about 15 years though so it was all fresh to me, regardless it is what it is at this point. To an arcade enthusiast it’s trash to a standard family or friend who may come over it’s going to be a blast. In the end I think we would entertain more of the clueless then the clued in. So if it’s not your cup of tea I respect that to me it plays just fine. Thanks for watching.
If you are desperate for something new it’s not that bad but if you are in the fence it may be worth more to wait for a sale or see what other releases they may have by the end of the year. I bought 13 last year and this is only my 2nd one this year so I’m a little behind. I had the itch and couldn’t resist. Lol!

Good and honest review man! Yeah if I didn't score on my Ridge Racer for $299 at Best Buy last year in November. I would have maybe jumped on the F&F to PC mod it. Which is what I did with my Ridge Racer and also I converted it into a sit down arcade racing PC build with a racing/gaming chair mounted on an Arcade1up riser. And I have currently over 100 arcade racing games ready to play. Still a work in progress and I also want to add the 4 speed shifter to my Ridge Racer cabinet as well. I will get there eventually. lol
I would take FNF over RR straight up but yeah if you added the Mod to the RR already not even close. Plus I actually like the bulkiness of RR to the slimmer version of FNF. Haven’t really had the need for sharp turns or brakes but if I did I can see the FNF being really wobbly during gameplay. Something I think could’ve benefited from keeping the risers.

Lol And I have a lot of nostalgia and fond memories of Ridge Racer on the PlayStation and arcade. It's one of the few I've beaten on one play. Lol I got nothing on the F&F game as I avoided it when I saw the cabinet in the wild. I kind of wish I tried it though. I love the movies up to part 7.
Yeah it happens a lot more because of the steering wheel being so sensitive, it can be distracting if your aren’t a good driver which at first we all are after about 5-8 races you learn the steering wheel curve and you will get better at it where it’s not so bad
I figured it out eventually, you have to run the wire under the cabinet completely and then feed it back into the back of the cabinet into the cable that connects to the PcB. I’ve put so many of those together that they always teach you to feed inside then feed outside to the power source here they are telling you feed it outside back inside first. It was literally in the manual on the last page, by the time I get to the pcb hook up it’s just the particle board left to enclose the back I didn’t bother to read the rest. The pedal hookup was after that. Thanks for watching the review.
Yeah but without a riser, you can’t run that cable and threw the back like you could before. Behind that pedal is the bottom panel if you run that underneath to the back you run into the back plywood cardboard that encloses the guts of the cabinet. There is no way through unless you are talking about re running that cable from the outside back in the back panel into its connection than I guess that makes sense. Every one of the 18 or so I put together teaches you to connect within not from without. So that’s probably why I couldnt understand it
Nice video. Sucks that you are really only getting one game. What would be great if they made this into a counter cade which can be connected to other cabs. That way, you could take one to your friend's house who had one and connect them. I don't know how many people are going to buy two or more of these 3/4 cabs for their house.
Thanks for comment, I really don’t entertain as much as I would like and would rather spend the space and money on something new waiting for Tron to go on sale as my next cab. One is enough for now, unless of course Daytona comes out then I may have to knock down some drywall for multiple cabs on that one. That was my jam

If you have your heart set on it make the trip I doubt these will be in Best Buy after the movie releases and with Canada no longer carrying these arcade 1up the second hand market prices will be crazy in that country.
I think it’s a decent cab but set your expectations low, you may find it one of your better cabinets in the long run cuz even though it’s just one game really there is replayability between scoring top score amongst the 18 tracks.
Well when you choose the drift option you are only playing 6 tracks if you play the FNF option you get 12 track. Problem is those 12 tracks along with the other 6 all belong to drift because drift had all the tracks from both games. Arcade 1up should’ve just called it drift and had all 18 tracks on one game and stop misleading the community

@@richwatson1985 steering was a little wiggly and sensitive, probably need more practice. I think there is an option in the menu to turn the rumble effect on will have to check later.
Mk to me has the best variety of games in any arcade 1up machine. FNF is second because each race is different and there are a lot of tracks that have shortcuts plus you can always try to beat your fastest time. Blitz is fun too but it’s basically the same game across all 3 Blitz games. Still fun but I don’t find myself playing it as much during the off season. All depends which one you would prefer

Yep that is why we are missing so many cars. They don’t have the licenses anymore. Both games came out in 2004 and 2007 doubtful it’s worth paying out licenses to a series of games that aren’t produced yearly

It all depends on space and cash flow for you. I own 22 arcade 1ups and I have had this thing for a few weeks and sure it’s new but there is replay value here, and I would rank it in the top 8 of arcade 1ups I own. Better than Ridge Racer and Outrun for sure and who knows when Daytona will come out. This looks like it’s gonna be around for awhile so if you can wait maybe give it 6 months and find it on sale. It’s worth around $500-$550 if you got the extra $50 then it’s worth it if you are unsure then wait.
Man was about to buy this but instead bought a sit down outrunner and the pcb from buy stuff arcade! Thank god I did you can’t beat 150 racing games including Daytona USA
Correct. It’s drift all the way through they just placed the original tracks ported over to drift and made them exclusive to FNF only but then removed the FNF model and crowd from the original. They should’ve just called it Drift and left all 18 tracks as was and quite confusing the community thinking this was two games it’s not
Graphics are better on some tracks then others but yeah this isn’t a n HD remake like Blitz was. The graphics are kinda cloudy and not sharp like the original games were at the time.
Imagine knowing this and Arcade 1up being silent as a result. There is a reason why they are now hush hush about releases till a month before launch. They are hoping whatever issues there are isn’t found by the community while they laugh all the way to the bank.
From what I understand they lost the licenses to all the cars that are missing even in updated FnF arcade games of the past decade or so also has the cars missing. It is what is I guess I found more funny that there are no drivers in each car. I also miss the crowd at the beginning of each race but those are also likenesses they would have to pay out so I guess paying the one Asian lady in red is all they could afford. Really impressed with the speakers though. Those are great. It’s solid but I can see it both ways on whether it’s worth it or not I passed on RR so I needed another racer with my Outrun cab. Not disappointed!
Funny you say that I feel like the 80s and early 90s bare bone graphics were better as well. Once you get into those late 90s to mid 2000s they just don’t hold up as well especially when the home consoles were surpassing them in terms of quality and graphics.
I wouldn’t call it a flop but each to their own. Dishonesty in marketing is more like it. Now you wonder why they didn’t pay for Vin and Paul’s likenesses the game was entirely missing. They should’ve saved themselves the hassle and called it FNF Drift
Well being a licensed game and a specialty cab I think it’s worth more than that but it’s a hard sell being only the one game split into two but at the same time I think with the amount of tracks and cars it’s better than Ridge Racer and many spent $600 at launch on that one and the sound was horrible and there were repetitive tracks spread across 5 games
@@The_Bad_Guy. I have both arcade machines F&F and Drift just a few miles down the road from me...after about a month let's see what folks are saying...it will get very old and repetitive very quick.
As long as you don’t get pizza sauce on the steering wheel. One thing I don’t miss about the arcades was the amount of germs the steering wheels, buttons and sticks had everything from gum to food grimes to boogers. Yeah I’m fine with my home versions. Gameplay sine the update is pretty solid but yeah clearly not even close to the originals. An original would cost north of 5k whereas for $600 you get the compacted version. In the end both would collect dust eventually.
@@RogueStatusX personally I think this was a marketing ploy to turn a quick profit on a movie that is coming out. I also think they used FnF to test out the linking capabilities so if it does run properly they can turn around and release Daytona next and watch people buy 2-4 cabinets a piece. They know what they are doing, most of the time it comes at our expense and expenses.

It’s a catch 22, either they don’t sell and they clearance them out in 6 months or they sell out and you miss out only time will tell
Nice quick review! A few things to figure out but we do expect to be able to revise our encoder board and mod kit to work with this cab as well.

The wheel is meant to rumble. Maybe it’s off in the settings.

If you never seen the arcade verson, you wouldnt notice it's a sub bog down version of the arcade version.

Definitely appreciate the quick review. As far as the pedal wire, just put some black electrical tape around the exposed wire if it's bothersome.

It’s not as bad as many make it out to be but not as good as it should be. $500 is the sweet spot, better than Ridge Racer though.

I was able to tuck in my fast and furious pedal cord. It goes right under the cab and connects to the back. Did you assemble it correctly!?

Correct. It’s drift all the way through they just placed the original tracks ported over to drift and made them exclusive to FNF only but then removed the FNF model and crowd from the original. They should’ve just called it Drift and left all 18 tracks as was and quite confusing the community thinking this was two games it’s not

Graphics are better on some tracks then others but yeah this isn’t a n HD remake like Blitz was. The graphics are kinda cloudy and not sharp like the original games were at the time.
You get two half finished games for the price of two full games. Sounds weird to me.
Imagine knowing this and Arcade 1up being silent as a result. There is a reason why they are now hush hush about releases till a month before launch. They are hoping whatever issues there are isn’t found by the community while they laugh all the way to the bank.

From what I understand they lost the licenses to all the cars that are missing even in updated FnF arcade games of the past decade or so also has the cars missing. It is what is I guess I found more funny that there are no drivers in each car. I also miss the crowd at the beginning of each race but those are also likenesses they would have to pay out so I guess paying the one Asian lady in red is all they could afford. Really impressed with the speakers though. Those are great. It’s solid but I can see it both ways on whether it’s worth it or not I passed on RR so I needed another racer with my Outrun cab. Not disappointed!

Funny you say that I feel like the 80s and early 90s bare bone graphics were better as well. Once you get into those late 90s to mid 2000s they just don’t hold up as well especially when the home consoles were surpassing them in terms of quality and graphics.

I wouldn’t call it a flop but each to their own. Dishonesty in marketing is more like it. Now you wonder why they didn’t pay for Vin and Paul’s likenesses the game was entirely missing. They should’ve saved themselves the hassle and called it FNF Drift

The steering was rough at launch but since this video was recorded and an update was released which fixed the issue. Steering mechanic is much better.

Well being a licensed game and a specialty cab I think it’s worth more than that but it’s a hard sell being only the one game split into two but at the same time I think with the amount of tracks and cars it’s better than Ridge Racer and many spent $600 at launch on that one and the sound was horrible and there were repetitive tracks spread across 5 games

@@The_Bad_Guy. I have both arcade machines F&F and Drift just a few miles down the road from me...after about a month let's see what folks are saying...it will get very old and repetitive very quick.

As long as you don’t get pizza sauce on the steering wheel. One thing I don’t miss about the arcades was the amount of germs the steering wheels, buttons and sticks had everything from gum to food grimes to boogers. Yeah I’m fine with my home versions. Gameplay sine the update is pretty solid but yeah clearly not even close to the originals. An original would cost north of 5k whereas for $600 you get the compacted version. In the end both would collect dust eventually.

@@RogueStatusX personally I think this was a marketing ploy to turn a quick profit on a movie that is coming out. I also think they used FnF to test out the linking capabilities so if it does run properly they can turn around and release Daytona next and watch people buy 2-4 cabinets a piece. They know what they are doing, most of the time it comes at our expense and expenses.
