    The reason Rogan is so popular is because it feels like he's not even trying, he's just an easy-going guy, chewing the fat with someone interesting.

      Joe comes across as just a guy at the bar you started talking with. That's a natural thing for humans and as we know, reporters aren't human.

    • @tjroelsma
      @tjroelsma วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      The problem is that he's an easy-lying guy, just like so many other podcasters. You can make the argument that Main Stream Media is too politically biased, but I'd argue podcasters are even more biased and at least a number of main Stream journalists still have some integrity, whereas podcasters seemingly have none.
      And yes, I do mean podcasters from both sides of the political spectrum. As a politically speaking fairly neutral person, I always try to listen to both sides of the arguments, but this last decade that has become increasingly more difficult. Someone like Rogan may start off with some decent arguments, but he quickly dissolves into pure propaganda and conspiracy nuttery.
      But then that's happening everywhere: many comedians, actors/actresses and other artists are now full-blown propagandists and conspiracy nuts.

      The just don't get that it's not even about Rogan himself, it's the format and that Rogan asks the questions that other interviewers don't or won't. Typically those questions are things I suddenly realize I would love to hear that person (whoever they happen to be) answer.

      @@tjroelsmaI couldn't disagree more. MSM have done nothing but manipulate, lie, and misinform. At least with some independent commentators, they'll actually provide the evidence and how to check it yourself. The MSM specifically states that you shouldn't look into it, because you might come to a different conclusion to what they want.

  • @bozeeke
    @bozeeke วันที่ผ่านมา +344

    First of all, Rogan isn't even a news reporter. As far as his profession, he's a former Tai Kwando competitor turned stand-up comedian, then briefly an actor, then a gameshow host, UFC commentator and most recently successful podcaster. His podcast is really a long-form interview show where he interviews guests on a variety of topics. Guests from the political world are only one small aspect of the show and politics is not the main subject matter most of the time. That in and of itself is the real indictment of mainstream media with regards to the Rogan situation. They've become so dishonest and ideologically captured, that they are being beaten by a guy who's not even really involved in their field/subject matter.

      They say they "need a Joe Rogan." That construction is instructive.
      They feel they need to have something which is embraced like Rogan but that is completely ideologically captured. Of course, that's a contradiction because their ideology is what kicked Rogan out and also destroys what makes him embraced by so many.
      The correct path would be to change themselves so that "a Joe Rogan" can exist under their tent. *But changing yourself to adapt to reality is the opposite of their worldview. They believe they change reality to match their ideology.* For example: gender transition attempts to make reality bend to fit their perspective rather than adjusting their perspective to acknowledge reality.

Although I think he can be frustratingly dense sometimes, overall, Rogan takes the opposite of NPR's nattering nabob view of the truth. Chato really good commentary on Joe Rogan and the MSM’s issues. I think podcasts have filled the void left by talk shows going very political. You mentioned Carson and I agree I can’t think of any venue that would be more neutral these days than Rogan. Do a talk show in the US and any politician (except a Dem) will get grilled like an old style 60 minutes episode. I remember the time Senator McCain went on the view to have Rosie O’Donnell call him a liar to his face… it’s one thing to be cheerleader it’s another to don a jersey and actively play for the other team while claiming to be a referee.
    And that’s really the issue the press were in the past more like referees. Then they became active cheerleaders… then they dispensed with pretense and proudly run on the field of political play… now after many elections they wonder why their audience is dissipating.
