@@randomrandom316 Honestly, as an Irishman living in England most of my life, it is definitely a rude thing to do, if you say he or she instead of the name in front of others. It's basic manners and common sense to refer to someone present by their name.
he told the interviewer she was sexually arousing her because of her dress. Which made her uncomfortable enough for him to dominate the conversation. Then, whenever they commented on his looks, he accused them of being superficial. A moment later he claimed she was ‘grasping for columns’. Russell is completely full of shit, bless him. He uses sex appeal to gain the upper hand then accuses others when they spot it. Not hard and not funny.

@@thatsamazin- I agree. Although they are bunch of clowns, a truly intelligent and charming person would’ve tried to make them look less inept and set a tone for what he wanted by example rather than chaos. His display was impressive but in a way just as rude as them. Ok it was funny, more entertaining, and accurate, it was still rude on some level. I like how the second he realised he was dealing with idiots he started acting up. I love his expression when he says 'fake stirs' like he's saying 'like you'. He made these guys look like the complete bellends they are.
Totally, in agreement with that. The issue is that it takes a certain type of person to do this job, the problem is that the US has become media bloated and there just isn't enough talent to support the bloat. I generally find these relative nobodies are boring, unintelligent and full of their own self importance and because they are perhaps big media representatives in their area they think they are big fish, however, you soon discover that perhaps you have a handful per US state who also think this, before you know it you have a couple hundred of them, maybe 10% are good, the rest just think they are good. I often cringe at these US media "personalities" they are so fake, so scripted. Take someone like Brand, he is real and he is not even to my mind the best out there, he is good, but in his own way, perhaps not as polished so doesn't naturally suit serious news/political settings, there are others in British media who can hold a studio like this but with a level of intellect and polish far superior and could destroy a studio full of idiots like this.
@@peterpeterson9903 they arent looking for talent, the US media, is narrative driven. you will only be hired, if you conform to their agenda and tow the line. if you work at fox news for example and start talking about progressive liberal politics positively, they will fire you 100%. same thing for msnbc, if you started talking about republicans in a positive light, they would fire you quicker than lightning hits the ground lol. thats why americas cant trust anything or anybody, because its nothing but lies and propaganda 24/7 and im not even exaggerating a little.
thats just how the media does it. they just berate people with condescending tones and arrogance. and almost every time they build a strawman in order to be able to win their argument and prove their points lol. i really cannot stand the media, they have caused irreversible damage, and they have lost any shred of credibility they may have had at one time.

Watching this now in 2022 is such foreshadowing. I love how Russell's intelligence is bigger than all three of the others combined at that table. He totally turns their show back on them.
Yeah. They thought they would insult him by getting his name wrong and conflating it with Willy Brandt. Ha!
It’s because he’s a free thinker. he’s subscribed to nothing and looks at life completely objectively. They weren’t prepared for that.
This is exactly why cancel culture now exists.
They need total control of the narrative and information, otherwise all their lies and disingenuousness are outed.
Plus created a huge puddle in the ovulating one's pants ha ha. Game turned up to 11.
"Russell's intelligence is bigger than all three of the others combined at that table". And then some!
He actually gave a super thoughtful and insightful answer to a fairly stupid question and the immediate follow up was “lol I can’t understand you on the radio.” From then on he just decided to have a good time. Their lack of professionalism was honestly painful
he really got them into their heads. and Russel is amazed how easy it happened and they couldn't recover.
Not only those same sentences provide a thoughtful and insightful answer to a stupid question, he used them to keep the atmosphere light while he indirectly called them out for being manipulative
I've never seen anyone own an interview so hard. Dude is way too intelligent and charismatic for them to comprehend, they weren't ready for it.

Every wise person tells us to 'be yourself' or 'to thine own self be true' w/out explaining that the first step in that journey is understanding and admitting your weaknesses. Mr Brand's strikes me as someone who had the honesty to do that, and so much more.

I don’t think they were “shocked” at all. They’ve met plenty highly intelligent people before. It doesn’t take a very smart person to make that panel look like ass clowns.
@@thatsamazin- I agree. Although they are bunch of clowns, a truly intelligent and charming person would’ve tried to make them look less inept and set a tone for what he wanted by example rather than chaos. Or if he wanted chaos then allow them to continue being chaotic/shit at their job instead of turning on them.
Instead he judged them and he felt power when he introduced his chaos. His display was impressive but in a way just as rude as them. Ok it was funny, more entertaining, and accurate, it was still rude on some level. I don’t particularly like or dislike him, but he does have narcissistic traits that he hides beneath all the showmanship. He’s definitely very articulate but that doesn’t mean he’s necessarily very intelligent, he probably is above average though, and he’s obviously practiced and obsessed over how to look, act and speak in order to gain the most attention and the most adulation. So he’s just very good at being a certain way. People mistake this for intelligence.
I think he probably does in fact have a bit of a messiah complex and the whole thing is just one huge Freudian slip that even he’s unaware of 😂
