    Looks like another example of the fact that the 90s needs to be broken into another Age.

    I'm shocked that Moon Knight outsold Batman in the Bronze Age. I thought for sure the Neil Adams Batman stuff would move more in volume and price than Moon Knight.

    Batman had a really long stretch of goofy Silver Age comics that didn't turnaround till Neal Adams and Dennis O'Neil started their Batman run in the Bronze age.

      The Campy Batman of the SA was partially perpetuated by the success of the TV Series. To this day, I still know people who prefer the ' Adam West Batman ' over the Adams/ONeil Dark Knight Detective.
      I am NOT one of them. Thanks to them for saving Batman.

    Fascinating video. So interesting to see what people are buying. I'd love to see similar data from other sellers, if it exists.

    Great video, I’m a big collector of Bronze and Copper age books and I love all of those titles on the Bronze age list including Moon Knight. Punisher is also my favorite character and I have almost all of his early appearances, so glad to see he was mentioned too. He made 21 appearances (over half in ASM) in the Bronze age before his first solo limited series in 1986 which was in the Copper age.

    Great video. Loved the content very much. There were a couple surprises on the list like no Ghost Rider?!?! How do you feel about updating the categories of comics?? Gold, Silver, Bronze, Copper only last for about 10-15 years each but Modern Age is forever?!?!? Doesn’t make much sense to me. Keep up the great work. 😎

    Very good video. Two characters I was surprised didn't show up in the modern age were Deadpool and Harley Quinn.

    Much much better with slowing things down a bit! I commend you on adhering to alittle constructive criticism that made your videos more enjoyable to watch. The content has always been great, it was the speed at which the content was being delivered that made it alittle annoying to sit through as words were being slurred together as if too much Adderall had been taken just before filming the video lol. Thank you for bringing it down a notch big guy. Enjoyed it 100%! Keep it up and I'll most likely subscribe and pass your name around to all my other collector pals.

    Modern (adjective) is defined as "relating to the present or recent times". Technically the "Modern Age" of comics, based on the definition of modern, can never end. Whoever coined the term for the current age of comics, as well as those who went along with it, didn't think it through.

    The Modern Age being coupled with the Copper Age skews those numbers quite a bit, especially considering how broad a range that covers.
    I do agree that the 90's and early 2000's should have some separation..
    For the sake of argument, let's just call the 90's (pick a year) to early 2000's the Millennial Age and then anything from approximately 2008 (or 2010) on up, the Modern Age for now.
    THEN, I'd like to see how those numbers play out (with separate data for each).

    • @dalemoyers8881
      @dalemoyers8881 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree. When the Modern Age was first introduced it was a long time ago now. So we need to update the categories to reflect the current time. 😎

    Great video. For golden age, since scarcity is a major factor, it would be interesting to see the data over a longer time frame as well as by cover artist.

    Gold, Silver, Bronze, COPPER, Modern. It doesn't make any sense for modern to encompass 40 years.

      I agree 100%!!! There needs to be updated categories to reflect the different decades. If they wanted to keep the modern age title, it would need to change every 10 to 15 years to make it more relevant. 😎

    Overall, it was a great category. I just do not understand why you would separate miles morales from Spider-Man as a whole? That was not done for the avengers. No, I wasn’t done for the X-Men. It shouldn’t be done for Spider-Man either.

    Always nice, data :), but not too many surprises, except for Moon Knight (most hyped and least interesting character ever) and the absence of Daredevil, especially the Gene Colan/Stan Lee issues. They are relatively cheap now, someday people will realise these books are gems....

    • @Boxingbear
      @Boxingbear ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Moon Knight can be a very interesting character when the proper script is behind him. The stories by Charlie Huston in the 2006 series with David Finch's art are some of the best.
      The Gene Colan/ Stan Lee DD books are a bit underappreciated. Mainly because the direction taken by Frank Miller has come to define the character much more so than anything that came before it. There was no Elektra, no Bullseye, no Kingpin and no Hand - nobody can imagine DD without these components now.

    So in the data how is it decided what character gets the credit. For example: Spider-man 300 does the character of Spider-Man AND Venom get percentage points? Would ASM 299 give Venom credit as well. Trying to understand how the data is considered. Thanks.

    The golden age #1 felt like a cheat. Like, that shouldn’t be on the list on characters. Unless it was one specific title - which it isn’t. Feels like misinformation.

    It is amazing that people are grabbing Spider-Man at All it basically gimmicks everything in current comics covers too random new characters that don’t mean anything. I would grab miles over current Peter issues thou he needs his own villains.

    • @goldenshark3182
      @goldenshark3182 ปีที่แล้ว

      Modern era on this list encompasses the Copper age too which is almost the last 40 years, there are a ton of ASM issues during these years which are big movers including McFarlane Spider-Man, Venom and Carnage first appearances and J Scott Campbell ASM covers which are way more popular than Miles will ever be.

    • @goldenshark3182
      @goldenshark3182 ปีที่แล้ว

      Moon Knight had way more titles, guest appearances and solo issues than Wolverine by himself who was mostly only with the X-Men during the Bronze Age, but NOT during the Copper/Modern Age where Wolverine has way more issues.
