I am so privileged that I grew up under Obama. He's the first president that I remember and he shaped my life and the way I think in such an incredible way. I was 13 when Obama took office, I'm remember watching his inauguration in the library of my school. The past 8 years in review is a mixed bag, Obama promised a lot of things like bring the troops home, Universal Health Care, fixing the economy, closing Guantanamo Bay, fixing the divide in race and politics in our country when inspected further most of these are not what they seem. he did get the troops out of Iraq,BUT it took until the last year of the legal agreement with Iraq (Bush timetable ) in 2011 Yes number of Americans insured is record high BUT when you make something mandatory what else is it going to do (look up prohibition )he did lift the economy and saved the American Auto industry in 2008, BUT never took on the big Banks that caused the recession and the housing crash ( 8 years no one has gone to jail) he has put America back on the world stage and on the frontline of world events and issues for better or worse BUT Guantanamo is still open, our politics and race relations are more strained then when he entered office the greatest leader/ president of all time or the worst NO History will decide what he is remembered as and by other then the first non white one HOPEFULLY, all douting Americans can give Trump as much of a benefit of the dout as they gave Obama, he not going to get everything he wants done they never do and when it happens don't forget that and act like he is the first (don't holding him to a higher standard) the future will be promising as long as we can all strive for the common goal of making America a better place for EVERYBODY and more prepared for the challenges of tomorrow

I cried the whole time during his speech and I haven't stopped. I am so afraid that we will never again have a president that exudes the dignity, honor, and kindness this man has for the last eight years. The past 8 years in review is a mixed bag, Obama promised a lot of things like bring the troops home, Universal Health Care, fixing the economy, closing Guantanamo Bay, fixing the divide in race and politics in our country when inspected further most of these are not what they seem. he did get the troops out of Iraq,BUT it took until the last year of the legal agreement with Iraq (Bush timetable ) in 2011
Yes number of Americans insured is record high BUT when you make something mandatory what else is it going to do (look up prohibition )he did lift the economy and saved the American Auto industry in 2008, BUT never took on the big Banks that caused the recession and the housing crash ( 8 years no one has gone to jail) he has put America back on the world stage and on the frontline of world events and issues for better or worse

I cried the whole time during his speech and I haven't stopped. I am so afraid that we will never again have a president that exudes the dignity, honor, and kindness this man has for the last eight years. Even now, in a time when our future is so divided, he spent his last speech taking the time to thank the public and try to encourage others to love one another. He spoke out to even those that are against Trump to stand loyal and proud. He talked about treating everyone with respect. And he even spoke of how he hope there would be a peaceful transition.
He has made us laugh with his humor and wit. we've smiled at the tenderness he's shown his wife. And he's done so much for this country. I will miss Obama deeply. I pray that this will not be the end of our country, but yet another time when we can rise up and overcome.

I have witnessed such deep respect for him in England and Germany. I literally cried during his speech; I am not ready to say goodbye. Who can I look to to model poise, charisma, humor and professionalism now! In the spirit of Obama's wise words, I will be an active citizen and hold strong to our common virtues.
