Break the fork caps loose on the bike, loosen the top triple clamp first but leave the bottom triple clamp tight. Just crack the cap loose. Sometimes especially on factory forks that have never been torn down the caps are ridiculously tight and will try to spin in your vice.
Great video, thank you for sharing!! Just some feedback, I wish the camera angles were closer and covering exactly what you are doing and was slower paced too. Clearly you’re a professional, but for us watching for the first time, it’s overwhelmingly fast and unclear. Thank you again for sharing and uploading, I hope the feedback helps for future content :)
Very nice and informative video. Can you make a video on how to revalve the forks i more detail and what does restaking shims do.Thanks, you earned a like and sub.👍👍
Plenty of info on the internet, thumpertalk etc. Revalving is about customizing - not about doing 1 thing. We cant "show" a set up that universally works for everyone. But eventually I will do a video on different fork brands and insides.
Hey man, quality video! Any way you could answer a question for me. I got a 21 kx250 with kybs, last bike had SFF's, Do you happen to know the sizes of specials tools ill need for the fork cap. I believe the driver will be 48mm but not positive on the rest
@@brianmeuse7595 You dont even make sense... If you dont like it - dont watch it. More than enough shown and narrated to do the job. If you want to hire a camera crew and an editing company - I'll gladly reshoot the video for you.
@@HPRaceDevelopment interesting take. I like to film with my cell phone and make detailed shorts that get combined with free editing software. You're obviously trying to help people, I think the best way is a very detailed approach where nothing is left to wonder. Thanks for the videos

I love the bit with the masking tape 🤙
This is an amazing video to learn how to do this! The detail and instructions are amazing! Keep up the good work and thank you 1000000x !!!
I love the clarity and enthusiasm. Great video!

Great stuff DH! Would love to see that basics of valving video you mentioned.
This video is really helpful, I appreciate it. You mentioned you have a video that gets more involved in shim stack tuning?
Fantastic job on illustrating
You are Pro brother, thanks for sharing!

same tools as Yamaha kyb since 2006
@5:25 on my 05 kx250r1 it has the same thing… the manual doesn’t show which direction it goes. 😭
I'm going to revolve on my own for funs sake. do you have recommendations on where to get my shims from?
Suspension direct will sell them
Your presentation style is just like Richard Holdener. Are you related? 😂
i stole it from him
Nice camera angle. So I can see... as little as possible?
Dont gotta watch for free then!
@@HPRaceDevelopment Don't gotta post it cause it's free.

@@HPRaceDevelopment think about it and then curtail childish suggestions. I want info on suspension, if you can't give it I'll move on. I've moved on.
@@brianmeuse7595 Move on thanks!
I would recommend closer shots on the film
Wanna pay for a film guy :) ? By time most people watch this - newer forks are already different in specificis

Try to wear gloves to, doing it at home over a bucket makes a mess and your gonna be wearing fork oil.
