Fr, I'm still trying to get a grasp of it, my kart's had a few issues so haven't been able to drive for a while. Which is a shame cause I'd finally figured it out when the kart shat itself. Anyways, super useful technique! I gained a second and a half just by doing this.
I learned this without realizing it and then realized I was doing it when I heard Driver61 describing how some professional driver was known for doing it. I only do it in sim racing games of course, but it’s the same effect. Just settle into the corner with consistent throttle, and when the car is comfortable you can add throttle to go quicker and wider or release the throttle to tighten up the corner
Letting go of break induce oversteer, throttle also induces oversteer. Break is for coner entry, and throttle is for corner exit. Letting the break go too quickly or gasing too quickly while turning will cause spin out or overrotation(slow), too slow the car will underrotate while under longer break and late acceleration (also slow)
@@gejuntian Throttle oversteers if you're in RWD, FWD and AWD would tend to understeer, as you're using more of your tire to accelerate. When you brake, the weight of the car goes to the front, giving more pressure on the front tyres, and therefore, more grip; when you release too fast, it will make the car very unstable, throwing the weight to the back again and releasing pressure on the front suspension, making you understeer again. That's where trail braking comes in
F1 games kinda allow some throttle oversteer, but it's really snappy. iRacing, it's way easier to understand with weight balance and the ability kick out the backend without instantly dying
You have to be kidding...iRacing is known for having such a crappy tyre model that there's no graduality in the grip loss so you either spin or you make temps skyrocket and kill the tyres given their ridiculous sensitivity.
Dirt track cars are a really good way to learn this, or something like a drift car, in a dirt track car you don’t turn the wheel more than a quarter turn and yet your taking 180 degree corners twice per lap
The best way is to push the right petal to turn right and push the left petal to turn left and push the middle petal if you wanna go really fast straight
Very sad that most don't know how drive the finnish forest roads like rally kings. It's so annoying when they are slowing me down. They could atleast try and fail. That way they would be off the roads.

Does TC/ABS prevent from doing that? I started doing this, but was running low TC and ABS. It was great in turns indeed, but overall cost me a lot in terms of control (I’m fairly new).
Do you lose control during the turn or accelerating out of the turn? You might lose grip in the front as acceleration moves the weight from the front, or you could be putting on throttle too hard and oversteering. Try turning up TC if so
@@Savag3P3nguin32 Definitely coming out of the turn. I've started to figure it out tho, and getting a better wheel so I'll feel the car a little more :)
@@HoloHen Yeah with rwd cars you sometimes dont notice the slip until your out of the turn and then it can get hard to manage, so being more gentle on the throttle can reduce the slip
Most people don’t know this but in a manual car if you let go of the wheel and press the left pedal you’ll turn left. The same for the right pedal. However you shouldn’t use the middle pedal if you’re turning with your pedals

In karting this is so beneficial it’s crazy

well to put it simply
braking: turn tighter but loses speed
accelerating: turn wider but gaining speed

@vinipozes the video shows the f1 car, so I assume we are talking about rwd

Why most fail at rally, they can't use the pedals to rotate the car
Literally, modulating the go/stop pedals in conjunction with the clutch is honestly more important than the steering thingy for racing

@@GVlVGI disagree try turning with only pedals no wheel at all.
I rotate the car with clutch and gas, ea wrc and wrc gen.
If I’m understeering I let go of breaks fast to swing my rear end out and then get on the gas again.
You shouldn’t let go completely and instead trail brake to 5-10% to load the front tires to induce car rotation.

Move your brake bias back more
*proceeds showing a racer using wheel to steer the car and spinning around*
How do you know your successful in doing so? I feel like I do this but am still so slow 😢
It feels amazing when you turn a car using the brakes, point it in the right direction, step on the gas and the corner is done.
I struggle doing this on my controller 😂
Does this strat also apply to rally?
Sort of, i have tried and it basically helps kick the back out in a slide for sharper turns
Sort of but countersteering is more effective in rally
I hope no one DD got harmed by people not knowing what weight transfer is
I do this in f1 2021 but only if i have soft tires because if i have medium or hard then i just spin out and lose 15 seconds
To do that use brake bias perfectly
Power drifting all lap hell yeah
Slip angle, not powersliding :/

its not power slide includes actual slipping, this only uses slip angle
Actual explanation length: 5 seconds
Not in trac racing oversteer does not help at all , you just loose more time as you accelerate less
To simplify this, you drift
Not drifting, its a powerslide or trail braking that produces angle slip

Wrong lose traction lose time just learn how to corner properly
he's right, and if you learn how to not lose traction this will be faster. also this is how you corner properly
So why do you think Michael Schumacher was so fast? Look up his driving style and you’ll see you were wrong
All the drivers do this on exit with the throttle and a few trailbrake into corners so you couldn’t possibly be more wrong.
Mhmm.. mhmm.. so when I sit still, and have maximum traction, I'll get my best times? 🤔
Lose traction does not mean slow
