I love how john always skates by himself i used to hate skating alone but its so therapeutic to me now that im older
As a you get better it becomes more fun skating by yourself
he is sad dude
So on the shoelaces ripping, there's a really good skate shoe reviewer named Christian Flores on TH-cam who created these laces that are ridiculously durable without negatively affecting my skating at all. They're pretty cheap too I'm pretty sure I got 2 pairs for like 10 bucks on sale and they've lasted me months and have extended the life of multiple shoes I've worn.
Those laces do seem great, but also… If I spot wear on a shoelace, I just put some super glue on that spot. It gets stiff and changes the color a bit, but it is super solid and doesn’t tear.

I got some to
You act as if John doesn't know about Flores and his laces.
didn't see anyone else really saying this but the cinematography in that intro was on point, ik how hard it is to film stuff on your own but i can tell some serious thought and effort went into that intro, not to mention how good you made those tricks look, good stuff👍
Agreed, and i also wanna know the name of the song used as bgm... It was a vibe

THANK YOU I was searching the lyrics up like crazy looking for it
I have been skating the Vans Old Skool BMX too. I wanted the old skool look but with the waffle cup sole. It’s a great combo of vulc look and cup sole feel. It did take some walking around to break in. Thanks John
i have bought 8 pairs of fallen troopers. i love these shoes and on holidays they're 55% off. I have wide feet and i don't have these problems in this shoe... I never tear the shoe laces and I super glue the section i do ollies. I make these shoes last forever. literally i could still skate my previous pair but i just wanted some freshies. I use my previous shoe for the gym.
fallens are the shit
I actually loved the Tiago Lemos and landed my first heel flip when I started using these
Me too i loved them and i also landed my first heelflip with them last year
It’s all just preferences
I love that opening session. It looked like such a nice day out, and we can see that you were genuinely having fun. Subscribed!
Some interesting oppinions. I personally love the Tiago 1010, I've learnt so many new tricks since I bought them and they help with my flat feet. I also find that every vans shoe I've owned has been really uncomfortable even when I'm not skating them. I even had a vans shoe rip after one ollie before which is crazy.
Hey, I also have this Problem with flat feet. Currently i am still using Vans for skating, which are hurting my feet too! I am trying to find a Nice New Balance Shoe Like the 440 or the ones you use. But my question is... Do you use any insoles for your flat feet? Because when I wear mine for skating it feels so unnatural... Du you maybe have any Tips or something? Thanks a Lot...
@@julian2106 yeah I use FP insoles. I find new balance has good arch support in their stock insoles in the 1010 and the 406, but since I’ve started using FP, all my foot pain has disappeared, and even helped with knee pain. 100% would recommend FP insoles if flat feet are giving you problems.
@@julian2106 I used my insoles in a the vans wayvee as well and it felt amazing.
Those Asics are alot like soccer shoes. They had the flap and the moved over laces to prevent the ball from hitting them and messing with someone's pass/shot. Pretty smart and surprising it hasn't been used more on skate shoes.
I've definitely been through my phases of shoe madness trying to figure out what works, what doesn't, and why. I still vebture out and try new things, but there's two brands I've found great consistency with...eS and Vans. Vans can be pretty hit and miss with me depending on the model, but they skate like nothing else...unfortunately, sometimes there lineup just doesn't have what I'm looking for. eS on the other hand is unique in a way. The Accel OG is an absolute legend that never disappoints and for me, it's the equivalent of "home", while the rest of their lineup can have some really awesome gems along the way. Unfortunately, anything outside of the Accel models and variants tends to fall out of the lineup pretty often. Still wish they'd make a vulcanized version of the Accel OG...maybe one day lol
My favorite shoes to skate in were like Globes from the 2006-2009 era. They were just great.
lol
I was born in 2006
Lol globes are like wearing boxing gloves or something you are tripin bruh bet you did alot of shove its and no complys
Agree, I got a deal on a buy one get one on globe shoes back in 2005 or 2006 and right out the box they were comfortable and I could do all my tricks without a break in period. I don't get the current obsession with paper thin shoes and board feel. I've skated vans and if you land primo or hit the top of your foot it feels the same and no shoe at all, minus well skate barefoot 😂
@@s5005 They're also cushioned very well. Keep skating in your boat shoes if you want.
i watched the first 3 minutes high just listening to the music and appreciating the videos, and i was a great combo of tricks, fails, b rolls and song, nice job John, one of the best filmed skating channel out there for sure.
I can only use etnies Marana based shoes. They feel wide enough for my feet and the have decent protection. I've only used cheap skate shoes in past, so the less material kinda hurts over time.
That intro edit was beautiful loved it
Can tell you put effort into it
I loved the opening to this video. The song choice and skating sounds were perfect my dude.
John! You should start your own shoe company! Seems like you have a good insight on what improvements could be made on a lot of these shoes. I feel like you could totally design something great.
i would definitely sport some of his shoes
I have been skating Adidas busenitz primarily since getting back into skateboarding. I have the van's chima 2 but they're slightly tighter than I like. I think I'm going to try the eS accel 1.5 next.
I think one of the best and simplest skate shoes on the market right now is the emerica spanky g6. Just an all round great shoe that isn’t too bulky
id love to see a video on any suppliments you take if any for skating, or if you do anything on a regular basis to keep your knees and joints in shape like peptides or anything. no one makes videos on stuff like that, but anyone who still skates all the time much like yourself would really appreciate it!
I still can’t believe you never tried Nike Chrons. I’ve worn Vans since the 80’s I started skateboarding in 87 and tried just about everything through the years and most shoes killed my feet until they were broken in. Nike Chrons was the first shoe I ever bought that didn’t need a “break in” period they felt comfortable right away. I seriously think you’re missing out not giving them a try.
John keeps making videos about shoes but I can never take him seriously lol. He has such an extreme difference in preference to me. It's always bugged me how he talks in absolutes here. For me, I can't find a single pair of vans that's felt comfortable to skate in. They just don't fit my foot right. I skate the expensive tiago's he's talking about, and loved them! It lasted longer than any other shoe I'd skated and just felt how I wanted a shoe to feel. My point is that you shouldn't take anyones word like this as gospel. Go to your local shop, try on some shoes, see what feels right. John has wide ass feet that might be super different from yours.
I think this is more of a personal journal than an objective shoe review. I never got the impression he was telling me what to buy, just what he happened to like.
I feel the same
What absolutes? He repeatedly reiterates that he's talking about his preferences and the way he skates. Even comments o shoes he doesn't like by stating that other people do great things with them on so he knows it's him and not the shoes. It's fine if you disagree, but I think you got just got a little defensive that he started by saying he hated your particular favorites.
I usually skate Lakai’s but in the past two years I’ve owned two pairs of Jamie Foy’s and your spot on. The shoe feels great and skates amazing but the biggest issue is the laces ripping.
I just ordered the numeric 425 today since my life path number is 11 and plus they look pretty decent. Also, if they're good enough for Spencer Hamilton, they can't be too bad.
Right so he skated the Tiago 808’s then just decided that the 1010’s weren’t going to be good for skating… complained about skate shoes not being durable when 1010’s last for months… wants skate shoes to feel like running shoes which the 1010’s do…. But hey each to their own if you want to spend money on vans that will last a couple of weeks go ahead 😅
I agree with your point on the new balances, but saying vans last weeks is perplexing to say the least. I skate pretty regularly and get at least 2-3 months out of vans skate old skools on vans skate eras. They're super durable, clean and light. My current pair are the skate half cabs and I've heard these last even longer! I'm a vans guy but anyway just sharing my experience. Once they moved to the "pro" line and then the "skate" update I've loved them even more. Classic style with modern ish performance
@@taylormitchell2119 that’s great that they last so long for you bro but my experience with them isn’t anywhere near that
@@taylormitchell2119 "super durable" is probly the last thing I'd ever say about Van's. That being said I love skating them normally stick with the chukka lows. I have had a pair of half cabs that lasted for a while but they tent to rip fast for me.
This was 100000% a pander per usual to try and nab something with Vans is all lmfao. That's all it was then, and now.
I have a fair amount of issues with my feet but I can say the foy 306 is easily the most accomodating shoes available. It works well for my feet they have a good width and decent interior volume (I have thick arthritis feet now) and I'm sure regular to narrow footers would also appreciate the foys. Casual, good looking and comfortable. I only deal with Emerica and New Balance second.
I feel like there are so many other options in the style you like. I’m a huge fan of the adidas skate Tyshawn, busenitz, or even the puig… what size are you? Might be able to get a hook up on some.
Very flat out wrong on the understanding of tech and price in shoes, but at the end of the day skating is soooo individual that some shoes just will never work for a person’s specific flip or foot position.
Vans are like the McDonald’s of shoes, they just work well for most people.
I've sold running shoes and ONs for the last few years and I wear them day to day so I get exactly what you mean by them being really comfy. The issue with translating that into a skate shoe is board feel and that is just incredibly difficult and it is just that balancing act for the manufacturers.
Do you know what model he has in the video 🙏
man the intro to this was a perfect vibe. Great stuff dude.
8:18 I'm pretty sure Nyjah likes his shoes as slick and smoothe as possible I remember hearing him say that in an interview he even smoothes them out himself. I'm kinda curious as to what a smoothe shoe is like
I liked the Nyjah 2 skating it now. I like the rubber Ollie pad and how it’s not so grippy with flip tricks.
I have the NB 1010’s.. the break in period was very long I can’t lie.. afterwards they felt very good. I did tell myself though I’d never pay $110 again to destroy a pair of shoes 😂
I am on my 4th pair of 1010s now, the break in was like 15 mins on my first pair. Just goes to show, everyones feet are different 😁
Skated in the 90s and early 2000s when bulky, basketball-style shoes were the norm, and both the Tiago Lemos' 808 and 1010 are not nearly as bulky as the shoes from back then. Used to skate nearly exclusively in Etnies Maranas. Only shoes that I could skate right outside the box. As a flat-footed skater find that the Tiagos are far more comfortable and offer more support ... after breaking them in, of course. Ultimately it comes down to personal preference and whatever is both comfortable and affordable. Your feet are your pedestal to the world, treat them accordingly!
My favorite skate shoe was the Nike Koston 2. Cup sole, soft and breathable inside, the laces only came down half way on the top of the foot so less laces broken, and so much suede protection covering the toe that they lasted quite a long time. I can still find them used or like new on resale websites
i love vans. they're easy to find, wide fit, not overly expensive. the pro models are usually very comfortable
The Li Ning Ellington shoe is soooo worth it, nothing comes close to how comfortable it is. But I do enjoy the Tiago 1010, I have a pair that I wear most of the time.
I always preferred a thicker shoe. You don't really need board feel when you know where to put your feet. Plus the more feel you have the less protection. I've skated shoes with the feel of a chuck and hated every minute of it cuz they blow out and tear so quickly. And if you smack your foot it feels like death. Shoes like the 808, accel og or SB dunk high work for me. The only other acception is the vans skate hi.
These videos where you dont talk almost the entire video have to be the best ones
Dude is super full of himself!
vans be the go to. and anyone can get them for like 20$ on clearance too. and you shudl try the nike sb slip ons. they have a vans feel to them but they are grippier, which i kinda like though they take more damage then vans.
ill say the nike sb dunk with the clear was more so a art piece than a functional skate shoe tbh. I think the dunk sb without the clear around it would suit John a bit better than the art piece of a shoe you tried.
That line with the bench to 6 step was sick
Hey John, thanks for everything! I recently found a couple editions of the NB Numeric 210 & 212 that were sold with velcro. Still some pairs floating around out there, but they're not in production any more.
My Tiago 1010 have been the absolute best skateshoe i have ever skated. They are really comfy for higher arch, wider feet. Other new balances such as the 440 are also awesome.
What models are those last 3 Vans you showed?
Also worth noting, vans lace area is narrower which helps it not rip laces, the NB have a wider area which gives it a different look. I agree about the lace issue but if you tie em up and shoe goo the laces it'll remedy that issue. I skate my shoes loose though so I never have to untie them
Absolutely hated the 1010s... until I walked around in them for a week and then skated them. They are without a doubt the comfiest pair of shoes I've skated, they last forever, great boardfeel, and amazing impact protection. So I would give those some time, and then you'll probably be blown away a bit. Even coming from vulc shoes. The 808's, I've heard the same thing from multiple skaters: they never break in, you just start to get used to them. Frankly, I put them on, and I thought I had put bowling balls on my feet. Heavy, still, and really uncomfortable.
THE 808 IS not good, too hard inside not comfy at all but the 1010 are the best skate shoes I have had in my life.
I have this last vans in the middle and I love it. I have other DCs but this vans is light and tight and comfortable, I just have no complains. I am nowhere close to a pro level but I ride a lot and the laces last a a ton (more than my DCs). It's one of the most expensive vans on the website (at least in Brazil) but I feel the investment was worth it.
What's the name of them?
@@0dylan WILLIAMS SLIM X ARCADE DC SHOES and VANS WAYVEE BLACK WHITE. Sorry for all caps, I had to google the names
Hey man just a heads up, on some certain “skate” shoes from vans (mostly slip on’s)you can actually ask for wider fronts, they keep them in the back and a lot of people don’t know about it. I have wider feet as well and it helps with the shoe not feeling so tight off rip.
What what what????? Is that true??
the nike lunar janoskis were the only skate shoe i had that felt like a running shoe. one of my favorites but i think they’re discontinued
You should test some nice $40 Spitfire F4's vs those terrible force wheels that flat spot after 3 sessions - great value for how long they last
You gotta try out the new balance 440s. I'm on my 7th or 8th pair and it's the only shoe I want to skate. More cushion than the jamie foys, I really like the rounded tip of the shoe, and they last a long time. Only complaint is that the stock insole is thin. Love the vids man
440s give me heelbruise on flat yo. Foy's doesnt.
Nike SB Alleyoop has been the best for me. Best boardfeel and just the right amount of cushion. Helped me advance at a much faster pace than my Van's Half Cabs.
try out f*** ripped shoelaces, they're really good laces and durable as hell so you can use those when you find your ideal shoe. Also good video, I love how much you pack into each video, thanks John
I recently fell in love with the Williams slim by dc. I’ve been skating one pair for four months, never broke a lace even once. They have lasted longer than any shoe that I’ve tried and are the perfect balance of stiffness/boardfeel. I honestly love them and now they have been discontinued😥😥😥
try the kailis bro
DCs are so good
Try the Es Swift 1.5! They have a thinner cupsole and have hidden lace loops!
I was super hyped for the Tiagos and I bought both of the models and I broke my ankle, in each pair... 1, the board feel is non-existent and 2, the grip on the soles, wears away so quickly and then one day, you find yourself, slipping off your board, when your griptape still has plenty of life left in it. I've also had quality control issues with those shoes with the soles coming "unglued" well before the toebox was all ripped up. You would think that for $100+ dollars, some of that "technology" could actually be practical or make the shoes be better constructed. Nope. Not the case. I've typically had good luck with New Balance Numeric and have skated plenty of pairs of the Brandon Westgate model(s), some of the Jamie Foys and even the 440 highs and the hightop before the 440 (idr what number it was, they phased it out and replaced it with the 440). I've lost the "hype" for NB# and don't skate them, anymore...After the last time I broke my ankle in the Tiagos, I actually can't skate much, anymore...unfortunately.
this editing is so good
It's crazy how much people change in just a year
to add onto your point of why cant a skate shoe feel like a running shoe, i remember nike actually did do something like that and i wish they did it again, they made a skate version of a nike free running shoe in like 2013. idk if they still make the running shoe but like the whole gimmick of the running shoe was that the sole was super flexible with a ton of hexagons on it with super deep flex cuts. with the skate shoe they pretty much took the sole added way more rubber and then made the upper suede and it was genuinely the comfiest shoe I've ever worn only downside was that it was like $120+
Eddie to the venue crew after the show: "Man the lighting was all messed up, the sound was terrible, what the hell is wrong with you!?"
The crew: "We're sorry sir, we spent all our setup time trying to remove all the brown M&Ms from your bowl!"
Oh man this vid made me miss the days of lockdown when you could street skate literally anywhere, definitely gonna hit a local school this weekend
bruh said tiagos shoes were bad but he was skating a pair of 808s which is a completely different feeling pair of shoes compared to 1010s which he didnt even skate he just held them there.
I know other people have told you about this and you probably already knew about them but Christian Flores has some super durable shoe laces and I would love to see you review them
The Tyshawns pro model adidas have been the best shoes I've ever skated. Haven't broken a lace in 2-3 months skating them every 2 or 3 days!!
Haven't gotten through to my sock yet, and also haven't worn the sole down to have holes! (Like every pair of vans I've ever worn.)
They're also insanely comfortable.
I'm trying to think if you've ever tried high top or low top blazers, I feel like I seen you try them a while ago but maybe I'm thinking of someone else. Nike SB can be hit or miss, but my go to for Nike is blazer, high or low. If I'm gaping I like high tops, if I'm keeping it mellow, a lot of flat ground and chill skating low tops. I actually like the Nyjah 2 but it takes forever to break in, haven't tried the 3's but I bet they are similar. Vans... Man oh man, vans are comfort supreme, they are very comfortable and I, like you, John, also have been blessed (cursed as far as all these shoe companies) with wide feet, and yes they feel so good... Even basic vans era's, those used to be my sht, cheap, lightweight, and super comfortable. However, that waffle sole, there is something about it on me, I have rolled my ankle pretty bad in vans, when they get broken in... My ankle likes to roll in those, I have wide feet but my arches are medium. And that's why I like blazers, they are comfortable like vans and simple shoe, but they suport my foot and ankles and little better. I'm a nike SB fanboy though, my favorite shoe ever was the Nike SB lunar gato...looks like a soccer shoe but built for skateboarding, they are still around but the ones they have now are slick leather, the ones I had was a little bit of suede but some synthetics as well... I loved that shoe.
I recently found out that running shoes are hella comfortable when skateboarding. I first started skateboarding over a year ago and I skated with cariumas because I thought they were the best skate shoe. They are pretty good but they provide pretty much no support for my feet and I’m flat footed. I thought my legs were weak because I got hella sore from skateboarding just after skateboarding for like an hour. But I just recently realized that my New balance running shoes got suede on them. I tried one ollie and it felt amazing like my feet were in heaven. So from now on I’m going to be skating in new balances.
i’ll always love my vans, theres a mall near me with a vans outlet and they get no business so im finding $40 pro skate shoes and they skate great
Dude I subbed just on the strength of that opening skate sesh! Tore it UP!
Can you tell me which versions of vans those are you have at the end?
in my opinion vans rowan’s are the best skate shoes of all time
Kyle Walker and tony Trujillo have very nice vans. New balance also my favorite skate shoe brand. I like squishy soles but with good board feel
don’t get me wrong, some pairs of vans are great, but the majority of them provide little to no cushion, are completely flat, and are made with thin materials that tend to wear down considerably faster, i’ve been riding in new balances for a while now and they have the best cushion and support for the price in my opinion, the lemos 1010 tiagos also have a slight arch in the shoe
I like the Kyle Walker, both Versions are great, the rowans are great and why dont you try maranas or the new sheckler ones? They are superb
i think its a personal thing. im 36 now and skate for 22 years and i have to say that i realy dig the bigger shoes because they just last longer and have better impact protection (more sole and this foam stuff) so yeah in the beginning you feel a bit less but you get used to it. and for the sake of my legs and feet i realy prefer bigger shoes... for the laces, just use hotglue, shoes looking shit anyways pretty quik. also im a shoegue dude and my shoes last about 3 months. the end of a shoe is, for me, when the sole is thrue...usualy at the big toe. vulcanized shoes just last a month. so i spend maybe 40% more money on my shoe but it lasts 3 times longer
I don’t understand why skate shoes don’t have lace covers… or at least optional so if people don’t like the look the can remove it but it’s ridiculous that I felt like this in the late 80s, either that or a side or a zipper
yo the quality is wild
your videos are so calming
I came here to see which NB shoe would be cool to try out and funny that you landed on the Kyle Walkers because I skated 3 pairs of those and really prefer them so far out of all the Vans lineup which I've exhausted. Never buying a Vans Old School again though, the stitching across the pinky toe is a no-no for me, due to blistering. Thanks for sharing.
Vans half cabs, chukka lows and walker 2's are the best. I miss Circa because the AL50's were such good vulc shoes!
Man that intro just brought back a lot of child hood memories the vibe the music the skating sick video John!
The best shoes I've ever skated were the Vans EXP pro. Basically the first version of the Kyle Walker 2. No laces just a velcro strap
Skate the Chukka lows! They’re good right out of the box.
Christian Flores developed a shoe lace that does not rip as easily. It’s a legitimate product.
Which model of these Vans did you like?
my favorite shoes were the addidas busenitz vulcs. the first ones. so comfy
Aren't all skate shoes overpriced? Bought the DC Manteca 4 (Dead pool edition) and the toe ripped after 25-30 minutes. There's $130 gone. Have the Breana Geering Old Skool Vans (2023 ver). Hole starting in the side after 25-30 minutes. There's another $125 gone. But at the same time i have Vans Half Cabs and Slip-ons i've been using for 8-9 MONTHS with just scuff makes on the toe caps lol So they're well worth the money. Also have the Vans Knu Skools arriving today actually! 😀 Can't wait to try them! Big and poofy with a Volcanized toe cap!
You mentioned the BMX vans. Is that what the shoes at the end are? Still learning the difference.
Price is king for skate shoes unless you're sponsored or your mommas buying.
To this day a good pair of inserts and then any shoe that feels nice from a cheap chainstore or ~50 Cons is the best bang for buck if you are putting in the hours.
What’s that opening song? It’s a catchy tune
I've never skated cupsoles but i'm getting old and like jumping stuff so i needa start looking into em and i feel like they've come a long way since i was a kid for sure lol
the Tiago 808 def isn't the preferred Tiago amongst his fans BUT it does have hidden lace loops that you could have used. Like it really does have great lace protection. the lace option in that Tiago 808 is essentially the same as the Assics shoe just without the laces leaning away from your ollie side. The 1010 (that white and green one) is the favorite by far. I like the 808 myself. People LOVE that white NB 1010 for skating. Lots of people do skate in those BMX shoes as well. If you skated the Crushed Dunk Low or just like a black white suede dunk low you'd probably like it.
The reason you can't have a shoe that feels like a running shoe is because running shoes are built to have spring to them. So as you rebound off your step it propels you forward into your next step. This is better for your joints when running but if you were to add this type of foam to a skate shoe that rebound would work against your body by rebounding that energy all directly back into your body. With running and hiking you're perpetually moving forward but with skating a lot of times you are just straight coming down hard onto your feet and compressing. If you had running tech built into your sole every bit of that energy would shoot through your joints. Versus a skate shoe is designed to absorb impact. It def isn't as comfortable because you're just standing what feels like a non-cushiony substance. You've seen the tests where joey brezinski drops items onto the insoles and the best insoles are the ones that the weighted ball just thuds onto with little bounce. With something made for running shoe the best test would be how high that same object rebounded. Every step in a running shoe is supposed to propel you forward where as landing in a skate shoe is supposed to prevent your knees from exploding.
That assics shoe is pretty smart. They also do make an all suede version of that assics.
and I'm stoked youre stoked on vans. I'll shoot this over to vans internal! haha
Im learning as my body fails.... haha to wear skate shoes when I'm skating and to wear walking shoes or hiking shoes when I'm doing those things. for allllll the reasons listed above.
Buy the unbreakable shoe laces by Christian flores
Yo what is the song in ur intro its lit!
I have always enjoyed skating in vans half cabs.
I just recently got a pair of nyjah Nikes 1’s that I’m going to try out. Got them for $20 used on Mercari in pretty good shape
I got the Adidas Busenitz pro, and I hated them at first as the heel felt high, the long tongue was so annoying I trimmed it off, and it doesn't have elastic tongue straps for when the laces break. I tore through the toe in roughly 2 months, and then just bought the Nyjah 3's(for the durability/lace placement, nothing else really. I don't like the look or the price point). At first I thought I hated the Adidas, but after being in the Nyjahs which I do not recommend if you have wide feet(I had to size up to not get my foot squeezed to death, but it makes me feel like I'm wearing clown shoes from the length... size 13).
But it made me appreciate the comfort and the board feel from the adidas specifically on the toe was great. I ended up shoe gooing and adding pieces of suede to salvage the adidas and I'll skate them until they really give out before giving the nyjahs a true test again.
I’m sorry bro
@@amdg01007 Don't be sorry, I'm only touching on some of the annoyances with the "high end" shoes, All things consider I do believe these 2 shoes do last much longer than most
You should try out the Austyn Gillette pro shoe 👌🏾 solid 10/10 in my opinion
Ultimate hack: Christians laces and foot print insoles the heat molded ones
Just an idea. I'm new to skating (2weeks) but from when you mentioned you wanted the shoe to feel close to your foot I thought why not try indoor soccer shoes
I bout 3 pairs of NB (got deals on them) and the 1010 Tiagos are impossible to skate in but I love how they look at the same time so at least I have a pair to wear. But the 440 and 508 feel a bit better for sure.
