glad you liked the soldier class, i actually worked at gruby during covid and got to animate it and the hunter. big shoutout to the team, they deserve all the hype in the world 🙏
Yeah, I was on vacation and the last time I posted was 3 months ago so I did a lot of footage copying and paste, my videos in the future will be higher quality.
I'm glad I ran into your channel. Great editing quality, good mic, fun personality, talking about game design stuff. This is the first vid I've seen from you and I subbed in the first few minutes. Best of luck with growing your channel!
Roboquest is much more Doom Eternal than it is Borderlands - You have all the movement options (3+1 jumps, jetpack, graplehook and one class has blink) - Melee kills give more health drops - You juggle cooldowns around - You dash in and out of combat constantly - You have synergies like activating primary skill gives your secondary skill a bonus or to your weapon - Being fast and dancing around the battle field is the most important gameplay aspect
I just didn't like the feel of the game but if it makes you feel better I'm probably going to beat it and maybe it'll be better than I originally thought and I'll make a video saying that this video is stupid and roboquest is the best FPS.
RoboQuest’s movement is insane. And yes, I love grappling hooks…and jet packs. RQ has both. Plus speed upgrades. And so, so, so much more… You just have to figure out how to get them. You can do some runs on the easiest difficulty level “Discovery”. It will help figure out the loop and get all of the “Gadgets” and THEN your movement will feel godlike. RQ has tons of upgrades that aren’t just flat percentage based upgrades. And you get to a point where you can reroll gun stats at will, and add affixes, upgrade weapon rarities… I love Deadlink. Pre-ordered it and have been having constant fun. But saying RQ isn’t doom-like is crazy. It’s a Borderlands aesthetic, RoR2 style run progression, movement on par with Doom and Titanfall 2 (when you play for longer than an hour), and you feel like Doom guy when you get everything and understand it. You probably played for maybe a couple of hours, didn’t get the movement gadgets, and didn’t push difficulties. There are 4 more difficulty levels after the ones you start with (which are 4 in itself). You just don’t start seeing them until you beat the game on Hard. And if you can S-rank every difficulty, you are a master RQ’er. It also has duo co-op. My advice when you’ve done some work on Deadlink? Go back to RQ. Look up some guides on how to unlock EVERYTHING, and then get used to the guns, and you will be grapple hooking, shooting up like a rocket and slamming down on enemies heads and chaining movement tech like nobody’s business. The sliding snd momentum based movement is in a league of its own once you actually play the game and get some gear/gadetry specifically/and homebase permanent unlocks. Watch Haderaxe’s YT channel to see some INSANE RQ movement and runs.
Also, EVERY class in RQ has the same gadgetry unlocked. They still each have their own separate abilities and unlocks and perks and affixes and such, but ALL classes can jetpack and grapple. The game is just as fast, if not faster than DL at times, especially on the Guardian Difficulties.
I love the game, my only gripe are those ultra aggressive shield guys that you need to stun to do any meaningful damage because they turn so fast. When they manage to run in your face they start clipping and stunlock you to the wall, it feels awful. But when the builds clicks, its great fun. Incendiary grenade, implant that spawns extra grenades on c-ball break and implant that makes burning enemies explode is my favourite combination so far
Stunning is a MASSIVE component to Deadlink. Just like Doom Eternal. Stunning + Killing is the only way to regen shields and make any sort of progression. Keep trying! Deadlink RULES and is worth learning about. Much like RoboQuest 😉
It depends on what kind of an FPS you want to make, if you're making an arena shooter like Deadlink then I'd say a good movement system and map design are probably the most important.
Doon eternal rogue like would be the best game ever. Anyone who says roboquest compares to doom is on drugs. Nothing like the resource loop of doom to keep you in the flow state
Okay tbh i can never watch smaller youtubers because they feel a bit awkward or like they're trying too hard to be funny...but genuinely good video and editing. You're actually funny af too, just don't let it go to your head if i say that lmao
Thanks for the review, I now know to avoid this game. Despite your praise all I seen is a game thats very shallow with bland upgrades that only increase numbers. Something you claim to not like but by the end you was praising. Based off your review and footage it severely lacks diversity and depth in weapons and playstyles.
Oh this one...... I'd say this one is too unforgiving if you dont have cover, and I quitted after fighting in a room of seemingly infinite enemies for 10+ min
It's an arena shooter you're not meant to get behind cover, the strategy is to kill the enemies before they kill you and tag all of them so you get armor drops.
There's a difference between a roguelike and a roguelite. A roguelite is NOT a type of roguelike. At least the gaming definitions. There are games that are a mix of both, but the terms are better than nothing.
Not a roguelike but I feel you would enjoy ultrakill not to be an ultrakill fan and say it's perfect but I would recommend for those looking for fast paced shooter
Well I'm a teen, it's only natural that the f word is ingrained in every fiber of my vocabulary, going forward I want to cut back on the swearing especially if I can start getting ads on my videos.
Stopping the video at your subscriber : viewer ratio, especially considering how you're not really all that well known (yet?). You're clearly full of yourself and come off as a whiny edgelord in the first 5 minutes. Besides that, you're trying to critique RoboQuest for the wrong reasons, but you have CLEARLY not given it enough time if those were your only examples/complaints. The Guardian difficulties ramp up the difficulty, and there are tons of ways to make a quality build. There's a hell of a lot more that you have definitely not experienced. Maybe you should really push a game's full potential before releasing half-baked "content" in your videos since there are WAY too many channels already that only push these god awful takes, but don't even bother to dive into the full mechanics of a game.
Fantastic video, flying toad! Hope you'll get even more fun with today's update :D 🔥🔥🔥

it started good but 5 min into the video and it seams like a series plagued with constant flashbacks and reminders.

The trailer on Playstation store did not do this game justice I never would have known if not for you
good video, i'll sub
Super duper doom like with the armor in place of ammo. Good loop.
You should also try Desecrators, which is a Descent-like FPS Roguelike.

Got this game during early access forgot about it, time to play again
I subbed, how long before I get my paycheck 😁
Good content
by the way, what do you think should a decent roguelike fps have?

I love these videos
why are you here...
If you're a fan of grapples you should try The Finals. Gives Pathfinder from Apex a run of his money
I must admit that Roboquest has also a Grappling Hook, is a later Upgrade 😅
I didn't even finish watching the entire video and went on to steam to buy the game. Luckily it was also on a 50% discount as well.
Nice, you won't regret it
If the game doesn't have a brawler, I dont want it........
Amma play this with that last shell
I've got this one but haven't put any time in it. I keep jumping in to Gunfire reborn
mfw when ive been playing CP2077 for the umpteenth time and running my cyberpunk ttrpg and looking for a roguelike that feels like it :)
Just came across this channel
Roboquest and Gunfire Reborn are fire 👌
Loving Gunfire Reborn, just wish they would release the DLCs on PS5
the armor thing is precisely why of all gunfire reborn characters bird is the best
Maybe I should put more time into it
Doon eternal rogue like would be the best game ever.

I can maybe see an argument for it being like the original dooms but even that's a stretch

I guess you've never heard of Void Bastards. It's one of the best FPS roguelikes out there.
In addition, the same guys made Wild Bastards, which is basically a Space Western roguelike.
Wait a minute I know this guy :0

Thanks i insta bought the game
what is the difference of roguelike and roguelite?
Roguelites have some permanent upgrades while roguelikes have no progression and you just have to get good at the game to beat them
play robobeat its fun
(grapling hook and speed included)
I'll check it out
