Just watched the lovely Natasha and Debbie's reaction video to your Edinburgh trip video. Great stuff! I'm just starting to plan a six month trip from Scotland to New Zealand and finding this video is very timely, thank you! Subscribed!
Thank you SO much! I’m finding that this past year of solo travel has really given me such an appreciation for simply enjoying my own company. Creating a loose plan in advance of things I might want to check out has been helpful to familiarize myself with a destination before I even get there.
Welcome! I think the easiest way to do this would be once you export your map from Travel Mapper to Google My Maps. From there, you can follow my Google My Maps video which details how to lay out the route and get the directions (at around 8:55 in this video: th-cam.com/video/2c2DGSDxtGU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=DgYBmgn0A-9q69sp)
One of the features I love about Google My Maps is that when I build them the old-fashioned way, the attraction/restaurant/accommodation's official website are included in the My Map (which is helpful for easily looking up hours, etc.) but this builder doesn't seem to allow for that (there are no links on the map pins once I export the KML file and import it into a My Map). Is there a workaround for this? I sort of assumed that the "link" field would translate to the map but that doesn't seem to be the case.
I wish TH-cam had directed me to your channel sooner, when you did the original My Maps video. I was supposed to do a New England road trip in Fall 2020. With this tool, I can transfer all the attractions, restaurant and hotel info from my file in Sheets. Next, I'll have to figure out when I can reschedule the trip.
Hi there, we completely understand your concern on this. TH-cam won't let us post a link in this comment, but you can Google "travel mapper permissions" to find our post explaining why we need these permissions for the all of the functionality to work. Not trying to change your mind, your privacy concerns are valid, but we want to ensure we're as transparent about this as possible.
Ok, I was in the midst of updating my map and circle just kept spinning. I finally used the back arrow and now there is no map and no edit abilities just the spreadsheet. Do you have any idea how to get everything back? I tried begging out and back in, no luck. I am going to go ahead and purchase, when going from the trial to the purchase is there a way to ensure you get credit for it?
Hi! I will reach out to the BluePlanit people to see if they can respond here to help you! As for the credit… thank you for thinking of me. All you have to do is click the link in the description of this video and purchase through there. :)
@@akfassoWell, I tried uninstalling, then reinstalling but it comes up with all the same errors. Emailed Travel Mapper but no response as of yet. Can you help? Also, I am assuming that the Free Trial will expire at the end of the 7 days and not automatically upgrade. Is that your understanding as well?
Do you think Travel Mapper will be helpful for your vacation planning? Give it a try here: blueplanit.co/get-travel-mapper?via=akfasso
this is awesome! I am not so good at saving my plans when I go places lol this is amazing to keep it all tidy and only make changes as needed!
Yup! Definitely planning on using this for every trip moving forward. Great system.

Wow! 6 months! Incredible. Welcome to the channel and happy travels!
New sub and I LOVE your upbeat, informative videos. I also love planning my trips (which are usually solo) and appreciate this information. Thanks!

Awesome. Thank you. I will use this. Wil need to see how to add the other 30 places/5 countries on my trip. Cheers
Sounds like the makings of a very fun trip!
Thank you so much. You saved a lot of time for us. Have a good one!!!!!!!
Glad to hear it!
Really useful, thanks! Btw, since you stumbled on it in your video, you really should visit the Mussel inn in Golden Bay NZ.
Ha! Maybe I will! New Zealand is definitely high on the bucket list. Hoping to get there soon. :)
@@akfasso feel free to get in touch for tips before you do!
Thanks for walking us through this. Is there a feature that gives you travel time and directions between sites?

Thanks, I am trying to figure out a 4 month trip for us and another couple to Europe.

Hi there, our technical team is taking a look at this. Can you please send us an email so we can help further?
Happy to report that our team pushed a fix for this today! The link should now be part of the KML import into Google My Maps from Travel Mapper.
@blueplanit1639 wow! Great news! cc @wendychummel

Hope you get to do that trip soon! I love the New England area especially during the autumn. :)
This is awesome!! Thank you 😃
It is! And you’re welcome!
Hi .. Thank you for it!🎉
Does this work on a Chromebook? Travel Mapper is in my extensions, but only creates a blank sheet, no templates.
I highlight a link and right click but don't see the option to add to itinerary. Travel planner is installed.
Hi there, did you install the Chrome Extension in addition to the Sheets add-on?
@@blueplanit1639 That was it...thank you so much.
Looks great but on install it wants read/write access to ALL my spreadsheets which I wont allow, so its back to your great google mymaps video..
