    As someone who greatly prefers constraction over system, it's been pretty dry in terms of sets I'd actually buy for the parts lately.

    I don't know how to feel about a number of the Speed Champions sets. Lots of new parts come from that theme, but it's starting to feel a bit like cheating. Kind of falling into the Star Wars trap now where it's not so much a LEGO version of the car but rather just a replication that happens to be LEGO. Recolors are fine, a new piece here or there never hurts, but I'm seeing a couple of very specific pieces coming out of that theme and it just feels weird. I'm sure I'm in the minority.

    How does one get started with MOC building?

    • @BenCossyOfficial
      @BenCossyOfficial  ปีที่แล้ว

      There's no real way to get started, just get an idea and start building. Trial and error is important to find the right way to build something, but otherwise you just gotta start :)

      Starting with alternate builds (moc's created from only the parts of a single Lego set) could be a way into moc building, but it's not for everyone and you may risk getting stuck in that niche 😜
      On a more serious note though, look up some alternate builds for sets you own and are willing to take apart or just grab a creator 3in1 set and build the different things made from the set while paying attention to how pieces are used.
      However you start it, MoC building is a journey away from just following instructions to a point where you will hopefully understand the multiple ways pieces can be used to transfer a vision into an actual brick build thing.
      It's a journey of failure and (minor/slow) improvement that can be hard and unrewarding for an adult brain, always remember persistence is the key to a successful journey.
      My first builds where nothing like I had envisioned, but by acknowledging that and improving on the design I got some of them what I had envisioned them to be.
      Best tip I ever got was to put things aside for a little while (even builds I thought where finished) and have another look at them a day/week/month later, see/realise the areas of improvement and improve on them.
