I really love this dilema of the prophecy being about angel or spike. It makes sense, both of them are kinda deserving and in a way spike deserves even more
Now the season really starts. I love the Lindsey reveal. So well done and shocking. And now we know that Lindsey is responsible for sending the amulet of spike to Angel and then the box to make him corporeal again.
Wesley wasn't in the episode due to Alexis Denisof marrying Alyson Hannigan and going on their honeymoon. I did read that cast members of Buffy and Angel were at the wedding but I'm not sure if it's true or not.
Angelus:“There's no belonging or deserving anymore. You can take what you want, have what you want... but nothing is yours. Not even her.” One of the best lines in the series.
19:51 Indeed, we haven't seen Lindsey since 2x18. What's really crazy is that Fred first appeared in 2x19, which means this is the first episode of the show to have both Christian Kane and Amy Acker.
Oh my, if it had been Lilah Morgan in that bed (wow that would've been a Huge twist and a somewhat surprising thing we didn't know about her) But having it be Lindsey was just as good.
I know I was sounding like a broken down record regarding S5, but I think the writing in the final Season is superb. What a brilliant follow up to the fantastic Lineage, again we have the Angel/Spike rivalry reignited, with Spike back to carporeal form, and just revelling in his solid state. When he walks into the door it's pure belly laugh slapstick. Once back in this form Angel and Spike's centuries old resentment comes back with Eve leading them on over Shanshu prophecy. Sirk tells them of The Cup Of Perpetual torment, and the fued goes into overdrive with a brilliant fight scene, fuelled to by the flashbacks of Spike seeing Drusilla and Angel having sex. Even though Spike is victorious, it us a hollow victory as the Cup was a fake and Sirk gone. A brilliant ending with Eve slowly making her way to bed only for Lindsay to be the driving force behind all this mayhem, a great link back to S1E1 with Lindsay introduced in the Pilot and back yet again for more double crosses and betrayals. Super writing and another great episode to follow too. ,S5 of Angel contained some of the best episodes ever in The Buffyverse.
Timestamp 15:47, you can see the physical strength difference between them, Angel is a lot stronger then spike, but Angel lost this fight duo his lack of motivation since the beginning of this season, great storytelling for those two characters.
Trying to prove that you are better than someone because some girl loved you is cheap. It doesn't make you a great person or even better than someone. You're just trying to piss someone off because you have nothing else to say. There are thousands of men who are assholes and some stupid girls love them. It doesn't make them great. And secondly, it means that you don't have much to say about yourself, you are only trying to justify yourself by using someone's love. Which again, doesn't prove that you deserve smth exceptional, this whole trial was about your character and only you.
@@JLDReactionsYeah that was a gripe I had, when Gunn asks what happened he responds with the “I had my throat cut and my friends abandon me” without acknowledging that it’s his own fault he was abandoned I still like his character but I wish they had really called him out on the fact it was his fault that they all wanted nothing to do with him
13:12 spike/writer is wrong here, a demon would not self delete and let william back, it would never request a soul, spike was tricked and angel was forced
How was he tricked? He tracked down a demon that could restore his soul and then fought trials to win it back. He didn't understand the full ramifications of having his soul back, he just thought it would help him get Buffy back after he tried to rape her. But he was in no way tricked.
Darla self deleted... The vampires sired by the Master are different. Darla, Angel, Dru, and Spike are stronger, but oddly more human than regular vampires.

Caleb blew up the watchers council. :)
We know who blew up the Watchers council, Caleb said he did it in the last season of Buffy

Love the Lindsay reveal in this. Angel's original nemesis returns. But now Angel is the one with W&H's resources.
This is a really, really good episode. Love the epic battle between Spike and Angel.

This episode has the best fight scene in the Buffyverse, in my opinion. Spike vs Angel over a cup of Mountain Dew.
I always liked your reactions, whaaaaaat!😊
You were so excited when you thought maybe Eve was about to get into bed with Lilah. :P

Ok

Love that they brought him back.

Lindsey: "Alright I'll do it myself!"
LETS FUCKING GO! PURE HYPE!!
Christian Kane looking 🔥🔥🔥
I think this is the best episode in the series outside of season 1
I TOTALLY get the attraction to Drusilla! 😅
What happened to Angel's helicopter?
budget cuts
Season 4 Wesley was the most insufferable Wesley, but I like Season 5 Wesley the most. It's a decent balance between early Wesley and Season 4 Wesley.
Can you do alien vs predator requiem for your next movie reaction ❤❤❤❤
I hate cops- lindays truck

Wesley is mid tier...interesting.
I get where she is coming from. Season 4 Wesley was a bit annoying because he thought he was the one betrayed after his incredibly stupid actions.

Wesley us better than all of thrm. Gunn is a proven racist.

Spike has proven time an again to be unique to all vampires including Angel. The writers have said it themselves.
