- In this video, we show our walk to Excellence Punta Cana (one of our favorite resorts) and also the other way to Tropical Treasure where people always speak of the excellent massages that they've had (only $40 for one hour and I think people can even barter on that price!). We also give a sneak peek of the restaurant food (The Grill, The Lobster House, Spice, Chez Isabelle, Oregano and Agave). We didn't include Basmati in this video as we've already shown it in another video (Basmati is our favorite restaurant!) nor did we go to the Kitchen Table as we were in the midst of covid and wanted to avoid buffets!. We really enjoyed all of the food at Excellence and don't let others picky eaters concern you. There are always persnickety, fussy people who expect Michelin Star quality, but you have to remember, they don't have the same spices and things that other countries may have, but the food is still delicious.
We also give you a peek at what to expect in a tropical rain shower, and where not to be during the shower! Oh and there was something lurking in the sea!

Thank you for the sweet comment. As you know, the downpour only lasts a few minutes (most of the time) so we always stick it out. I hope you have an excellent trip!!!
excellent video, I get rid of all doubts, last May we went to live aqua, it was very good but I want to try EL CARMEN in May 2023, my only concern is the temperature of the water and the swim up pool, in May it was a bit cold . Thank you very much once again.
Oh thank you for such a nice comment! You won’t be disappointed, we loved and alot of people love it. There are hot tubs beside each pool so that really helps!

Sorry for the delay in responding! We went in July 2021 right when they first reopened. I imagine there is more foliage now and it should look a little nicer! I'm so happy to hear that you found the video useful! 🙂
Pro tip - pack a large plastic reusable shopping bag to take to the beach. Keeps everything dry during cloudbursts!
Awesome video! We’re going in August. I noticed in some other videos not sure if you can confirm that playa chairs have certain sections designated for club members and regular members. Looks like for the most part anyone can sit anywhere? Also, on your walk, you should happen to run into any private beach area did you? Lol there was a gentleman in another video who found a nice secluded section for him and his wife just to sit and watch the sunset. Thanks

It really wasn’t that far! I think we passed a couple of resorts so maybe a 10 or 15 minute walk if I remember correctly.

I have enjoyed all your EEC videos. TY! I have requested 7B or 9B because of you. The dinner restaurants look pretty casual. Is Chez whatever the only real dressy restaurant? Did you make it to Balsamic (sp the Indian one) Are the covered bali beds first come for Club guests? This will be our 4th Excellent property this December. I hope we chose the right Excellence PC property. I know the pool is nicer / bigger at EPC. PS I may have more questions.....
Thanks for watching and I’m so happy that it has helped you! Yes great sun in those buildings! Every restaurant besides the kitchen table (buffet) requires proper attire (men=no sandals/shorts, must have collared shirt and women=can wear dressy sandals, and basically as long as it’s not beach wear, etc. Most people do like to dress up for any restaurant but yes, it can be a casual dressy. Basmati is our favorite restaurant at all Excellent resorts! I didn’t include it in this video as I had already showed it in another one. We always do a few Basmati meals. :-) Yes, the canopy beds are first come first serve. When you are scheduled to leave the next day, you can ‘mention’ it to the concierge (they are great) and they may be able to reserve one for you. We’ve been to all EC except Jamaica, you won’t be disappointed. We loved the people, the food, the resort. We had an excellent stay! Some people are not as lucky. We’ve also seen poor service at some tables for dinner but I think those servers were new or something. You can still expect a few hiccups here and there but just be chill. Yes, the pool here is cold when you first get in but so refreshing!! Be sure to go up to x-lounge to get a bed and watch the stats at night! It’s nicer if you grab a couple towels for the bed though as the fabric isn’t very nice against the skin I find.
That’s a tough one. We love both for different reasons. EEC: The tide at EEC is not as strong as EPC so it is easier to swim and play in. It has Basmati but EPC does not. Magna EC lounging area is nicer than EPC. Loved sitting on our balcony bed at EEC.
EPC: nicer beach, EC heated pools but EEC doesn’t have an EC pool, Magna restaurant has an ocean view, the bird sanctuary/fitness track is great!
No unfortunately you cannot go to the other resort and use their facilities.
