I love Fate.
That was probably clear by now, but I really do. Fate Month was a celebration of something that changed my life, and I'm so glad I could share this with you. If you felt something, even the slightest bit of love and passion I put in,
then all of this was worth it.
This Illusion was the song that started it all... It's the game's original opening, but it plays throughout. That slow piano, the sound of building determination as you walked toward countless battles... and then, in the cavern of endless sorrow, it plays once more. Turning determination into love, love into strength, strength into agency, agency into destiny, destiny into Fate, and Fate into Infinity.
Two weeks of magic went by in a blur. It passed so quickly that sometimes, you wonder if it ever really happened. You wonder if it was all a fantasy. A dream. An Illusion.
But that mark upon your hand. The form within your mind. The growth of your spirit. The touch you won't forget, and the love forever in your heart.
A memory may be all you have, but that's more than enough.
It was left to us. A parting gift, priceless and eternal. It's in our hands now. Divine strength, flawless and firm. We control our Fate.
Tomorrow is ours.
Heroes will always live on.

This is incredible. It really is, and your passion is crystal clear. And your right, how this song is the heart and soul of Fate. Whilst it is not my favourite song (that place is taken up by Last Stardust and Broken Night), it carries the magic and mystery of Fate, as well as how everyone, but especially Shirou and Saber face it. I love everything about Fate, and the soundtrack is especially beautiful. I'm so glad that you are doing this, and want to say thank you.

This would work as an amazing insert song for the basement scene in the fate route if it ever got an anime. The lyrics talk about being "your true self" which work so well with shirou's answer there.

Technically this theme actually originated from the visual novel. The 2006 anime redid the song with a different tone and renamed it Disillusion. For comparison, This Illusion has a serious rock tone with the singer having an intense voice. Disillusion has a calmer more soothing tone that gives the feel of night with the singer having an calming voice. This Illusion also got redone again in Unlimited Blade Works that sounded like a mixer of both the original and Disillusion.

This was really beautiful! I have never heard this song before. (I'm guessing it's from the original Fate/Stay Night series from 2006, which I have not seen.) The way you sing this is really heartfelt and passionate though, so the original must be really nice too. I'll have to check it out. Anyway, you did a great job! I love this. No it's from the visual novel back in 2004.
There is Lisa's version of this song in ubw. It was used as ending for episode 12 i think... Or was it 13? Meh somewhere around that part.
This isn't actually LiSA's version, it's the 10th Anniversary version performed years before UBW's airing.

So I looked in the description, and was confused when it said “game”, my first thought was “did he accidentally write game instead of anime, after all, Realta Nua has three different song op and non are this/Dis illusion.” Then I looked on the wiki and realized that the VN had its own opening and the 2006 anime used a new version for themselves. I didn’t know this but now I do. Thx
