    Thank you for this video! I have two questions regarding K-1 Visa and form i-134:
    The U.S. Embassy & Consulates in Morocco’s website states that the I-134 is a required document for Visa interview:
    “I-134 Affidavit of Support form (with petitioner’s original signature) along with a copy of the petitioner’s most recent tax return
    * Please note that the petitioner must fill out the I-134 form even if he or she thinks that their income does not meet the Poverty Income Guidelines”
    Since they ask for petitioner’s tax return, does it mean that a joint sponsor is not accepted?
    Also, what is the point of submitting evidence of financial support if I know my income is too low? (Which it is because we are only students).
    Won’t they simply deny me as a sponsor?

    My fiancé lives in Portugal awaiting the interview I’m assuming I fill out the I 134 not I -1864 until after marriage and she is living here in the USA is that correct? Thanks

    Does one needs to provide three years of qualifying tax returns or just the last previous year is required ?

    Hi there…
    I have a question I’ll be glad if U answer my question plz…
    We’ve filled out form I-131 for Travel Document, and our primary petitioner is my father.
    I and my mom we have received Notice form I-134(Request for Evidence) my due date is April 2024, hers was in Feb 2024.
    But my dad hasn’t received his Notice form I-134 for that reason we couldn’t fill out my mom’s form.
    We requested uscis for an extension for my moms form N request to send a requested to upload my fathers form.
    Do U think if they are going to approve to extend my mother’s RFE due date….?

    Hello, if you're sponsoring wife and stepchild on ds-260 and i-864, how do you fill out I-864 part 5? Don't you fill out 2 separate I-864's? If so, it adds up to too many dependents, it seems. Thanks

    • @DarianLaw
      @DarianLaw  ปีที่แล้ว

      I assume they are coming to the US at the same time, so in Part 3 you would include the name of the stepchild. Then, in Part 5, you would indicate "2" for question one, "1" for question two, and "0" for questions 3-8 (assuming you've never previously sponsored any immigrants and don't have other dependents). Question three is "0" because you don't want to repeat your wife.

    Thanks for this video. It is possible to ask a question about the sponsor?

      I am concerning about who can be a joint sponsor.

    • @DarianLaw
      @DarianLaw  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Almost any US citizen and permanent resident who earns sufficient income can be a joint sponsor. They need to sign the affidavit of support and provide a copy of their immigration status (green card or US passport) along with a copy of their most recent tax returns.

    Hi ,can I only use the 2022 tax return on the I-864 form ?

  • @stevenroshni1228
    @stevenroshni1228 ปีที่แล้ว

    8:17 for immigrants you have sponsored previously, do you count someone who has the 40 work credits for Social Security but is still a permanent resident? I understand that the sponsors obligations to that beneficiary is over at that point.

    • @DarianLaw
      @DarianLaw  ปีที่แล้ว

      Amazing question. No, you don't have to include them if you are no longer responsible for them (because they have worked for 40 qualifying quarters or have become a US citizen).

      @@DarianLaw Thx. I find it's an overlooked exemption to needing the i-684.
      Parents of adult US citizens who either had the marriage case fall apart partway or H1b backlogged countries come to mind.

    Hi, I am considering sponsoring a friend from Venezuela. Is there a limit to my liability? Specifically, what happens in the case of illness, pregnancy, accident.

    • @DarianLaw
      @DarianLaw  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question. The short answer is: I don't know. You will probably not be held liable in the event of illness, pregnancy, or accident.

    Do I apply for a I-864 at the same time I apply for a I-130?
    And to double check, I would apply for a I-864 if I want to bring my spouse here to stay forever; correct?

    • @DarianLaw
      @DarianLaw  ปีที่แล้ว

      If your spouse is not in the US and has no way of coming to the US, then you file the I-130 first. After it gets approved and the case transfers to the National Visa Center you will have an opportunity to upload a completed I-864 form with supporting documents.

    Sir, I didn’t make enough the previous 3 years because i was living overseas But now iam making $45k annually. I have a hard time anyobody who want to be a sponsor and sign affidavit of support. How can i overcome this im making enough to support my wife and 1 steph daughter! Isn’t more important that i can support now and the future rather than the past?

    • @DarianLaw
      @DarianLaw  ปีที่แล้ว

      The important thing is your current income. You will need to submit an employer letter and pay stubs in addition to your last year's deficient tax return.

    is it ok for a boyfriend to sponsor in the case of i-130 being filled out by my 21 yr old child?

    • @DarianLaw
      @DarianLaw  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Your boyfriend can be an affidavit of support joint sponsor so that you can use his income for the affidavit of support if he is a US citizen or permanent resident.
