    The moderators didn‘t understand what makes the difference of a smart watch and an automatic watch. It‘s the appreciation of craftsmanship and owning a watch with a soul.

    Digital watch tells time, Mechanical watch tells story. Make sense?

    It's the rap music culture that's pumping/helping Audemars with the younger audience. But the CEO and others will not give rap music the credit.

      That might explain why in a recent interview he spoke about rap

    4000 sold in Hong Kong alone compared to 5000 in the whole US? The city is loosing its mind.

    These 2 know nothing about watches. Smart watches and AP don't belong in the same sentence.

  • @axlcrush1954

    I didnt get the answer to the number of RO sold. Francois answer of 30k+ was definitely not just RO (even if you include the Offshores) as he made reference to 3 mths left to annual production of 40k TOTAL.

    • @SpaghettiKillah
      @SpaghettiKillah 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Rachdanon X I think what he meant is they sell 30k RO out of the total of 40k watches they sell. That means RO model is 75% of the watches they sell. Makes sense actually, as AP is RO nowadays.

      When U are the AP CEO (and everything that comes with it) It is a subtle way to say "I don't give a damn what you think or say about me cause at the end of the day, I fuck you all" without having to say it.

    There will always be watches for mass consumption i.e. Apple, Bulova, Citizen... but multimillion dollar business deals can be made or broken over watches. We recently entered into a business relationship with a tech company and their strong point outside of our fit, was the vintage brown Rolex GMT master that the CEO wore. These watches are great to complement appearances but should never substitute viability in business discussions.

      @@markkickz4358it’s true, but peasants will never understand the logic of a billionaire. It’s like the Japanese mangos that sell for $100. The mango itself really isn’t worth $100 but they aren’t grown just to be eaten. It’s the message behind it. If you can afford these types of things, especially just to give them away as gifts, it shows that you are respectable enough to wisely spend money and make smart business decisions. It also shows your business partner(s) that you respect them by giving them and their partnership by giving them gifts. Now I know the video is about luxury watches but it’s the same concept, if you can’t see how they’re related, we’ll then you’re probably not too smart.

  • @audemars_piguet13

    They better not make "smart" APs watches, or else the brand would lose all of its reputation and value

      Better than buying a car, which becomes a liability as soon as you pay and drive away with it. A high end watch will be around the same price as a brand new car. Even if it's a Toyota, you could buy a rolex and wait a few years and watch your investment quadruple, specially during inflationary times...

    People will go to the furthest extents to convince themselves ludicrous prices of “luxury” items are worth it. People place so much materialistic worth on these watches it is absurd. If I had an AP watch in one hand and $40,000 i could donate to any charity of my choosing, and keep only $1,000 for myself, I would take the latter every time.
