There's no right answer. Too many factors to discuss here. However, more sensitive plants find it a challenge to do well when recirculating the nutrient. Thanks for asking.

making something simple to complex ,talking about 2 things in one , higher pump the better who is going to fit a 1 gal per min with 10 nozzle's ,higher pump makes finer mist so on and so on ,obviously the pipe is full of water theirs no waiting time for it if it switches on its on, then it will effect the 1sec on and timing sequence...

There’s a good video on how to build an aeroponic tote. My questions is what timer will turn my pump on for 5 seconds and off for 5 mins.

What a loaded question. For now you want smaller pumps for redundancy. HPA can grow lettuce very well. I do it all the time.

what pressure tank ? if it's rated for maximum 100 psi. the pump doesnt turn off?
If you're using pvc tubing, it will blow before your tank blows at 200psi.

You'll need two UPSs. One for the pump and one for your solenoid controller. With the right programming, your system can endure a 24 hour power loss.
I use a 12V pump, 12V timer and 12V solenoid powered by a 110Ah leisure battery. The battery charger runs on a timer. Gives me piece of mind
