My mother is from Virk and my grandfather was a strong and brave Subedar. His house still stands in Virk, and one day I hope to visit. I am very proud of my heritage, and I am interested in my genealogy. I'd like to know why this title speaks in terms of 'Caste'. As Sikhs, are we not supposed to speak in terms of caste, or genetic superiority? This is an Aryan ideology designed to support class structure and discrimination. We can certainly talk in terms of origins of a people, genealogy and their proud history. We can be proud of our ancestors and what they have done, but let's not use the word 'caste' unless you can find a REASON other than social structure, superiority and control.
