    ‼Important info‼ Please share ‼
Over a month ago, the FB account of sole admin and owner of Drummers
From Hell, was hacked and unfortunately lost. Following this,
unfortunately also the Instagram account of DFH vanished and restoring
    it turned out impossible.
After 6 weeks battle we're back in charge
of the fanpage and started a new profile on Instagram. Follow DFH at the
link below and spread it throughout extreme drummers community.
Hopefully we can rebuild it in no time!

"I bust my ass up there playing drums, I'm sweating, I am beat! And for what? The guy in Beverly Hills in his mansion and his manicures? I'm not gonna bust my ass for that, I had to quit" Dave Lombardo of Slayer. At the time Slayer was making $4 million a year but his annual income was only $60k. As a drummer who struggles to play like Lombardo, yeah I would be pissed too

There is something about his hi-hat playing during skank beats, that I find very interesting. He is not really playing all the 8 notes but rather It looks like he is skipping a bunch of notes, probably in order to save stamina. Though on the ride he seems to play all the notes, during a skank beat.
It's not really a big thing because the notes he do play on the hi-hat still pretty much sounds like 8th notes but the way he does it, he is also saving that stamina. Really smart, actually.

For those commenting on Adrian's expressions, it's quite common for musicians, and drummers especially, to make such, silly many times, while concentrating or enjoying themselves on stage. Just watch other drummers and notice how their faces look. I even laugh with myself when watching me playing the drums. His is just extremely expressive compared to others. And those ignorant enough saying that he gets cramps or whatever, he wouldn't play such stuff and even harder and faster in other bands that he has played or still plays for so many years, if his technique sucked and did something wrong. He wouldn't last 1 week on tour.

You’d be surprised how many big drummers have 2 bass drums but use a double pedal. Ive been playing drums for almost 10 years now, and my best guess is consistency. Drums are like snowflakes. Even if you take 2 bass drums of the same brand, size, heads, etc, and tune them perfectly, you’ll still hear a difference. The same goes with cymbals. You’d be surprised how different 2 18 inch crashes from the same brand and line sound on the same kit, for example.
So a double kick pedal would give the drummer a more consistent sound than 2 separate bass drums.
      That’s just a theory though 🤙🏼

I find I can get more speed with two kicks over one pedal. However, tuning is a bitch for sure. Way easier if u have a drum tuner. You don't have the lag from the bar on the pedal when playing faster tempos and it doesn't muffle bc you aren't using two beaters on one head.

    • @davobard
      @davobard 4 ปีที่แล้ว

It’s easier for the drum tech to tune only one bass drum as opposed to both, since they need to be tuned equally. They’ll do this if it’s a festival or a supporting gig where they won’t have enough time to tune both.

I guess he used them as tom holder, if he puts them in the right kick they´ll be on the cymbals way. But yeah it seems odd since he uses a double pedal.

It’s because mic-ing one bass drum is easier than doing two, and other than that it’s decoration
