The great return of Dominator! His blast beats now really are like jackhammer, and It's maybe hard to tell if he's playing a blastbeat or a two bass drums part
I cant even imagine how much you need to practice to gain that level of stamina with your hands/fingers/wrists. The blasting parts are not like 2sec and then a fill and then again blasts for 2 sec, the blasting goes on for LOOONG periods of time which is insane!!
This might be the best drummer on this channel. Both fast and hard. Adding flairs and grace notes on the end of his blast beats. Actually using the high hat pedal. This guy's even better than the other metal drummers because he can have speed and loudness and sound organic at the same time.
Nils is the perfect drummer for Nordjevel, really glad to see he is back playing with them. Even just as a session drummer. I saw them live 5 times and every time two things are really the problem. They are cranked all the way up in volume and I don't want to sound like a old man but god damn it they are loud. First 3 times I saw them play I can guarantee I got some hearing loss/damage. Second thing are his kick drums/trigger. Why are they always so loud? In faster songs they are even louder in mix over the snare drum, toms and on this tour in Belgrade they where louder than the cymbals! It completely ruins the show, and almost every time I saw them live i can hear that click click click trigger sound in my head for 2-3 days 😆Show on this tour in Budapest was really good, sound was great and for some reason kick drum wasn't overpowering everything in the mix. I guess seeing them 5th time is the charm 😄
As far as I know, they performed without Nils at the concert in Belgrade (the band announced that unfortunately he couldn't play with them that night) and they used the drum recordings from the previous night's show in Zagreb live, but in Budapest Nils played live again. Furthermore, the concert venue in Budapest, A38, is a place with fucking good acoustics or I don't know exactly why, but everything sounds very good there :) By the way, I agree, Nils is the perfect drummer for Nordjevel. Irreplaceable. I hope he will come back as a permanent member :)
@@krisztinafoldhazi4904 Yup, they did that in Belgrade because Nils forgot his passport 😆 But even when they played recording of his drums from the night before why would you turn up the kick drum so high? To me that is the style of people who listen to electronic music (when you feel bass kicking you in the chest), not even close to the sound that Nordjevel should have. I do wonder is that the request from the band to sound like that, or just what their sound guy prefers 🤔 To me that is too much, that's why I traveled the day after to see them again because Budapest almost always delivers. Clubs, stages and sound are usually really good or great. That was my first time visiting A38 Hajó, since the most bands I am listening usually are at Barba Negra. Cool club, reminds me a lot of a old (demolished) Durer Kert's biggest stage, but in a mini version.
What?! It is serious that he forgot his passport?! You're just kidding, right? :D But before that, they had already performed on I don't know how many stations, didn't they notice it there? That's fucking sad. Unfortunately, I can't comment comprehensively about the sound, because I saw the band twice, last year in the Czech Republic at Brutal Assault, and this year in Budapest at A38. Unfortunately, the concert didn't sounded very good at the festival, I would have been happy if that brilliant drumming could be heard better... (of course, it could be that the sound was often indistinguishable only from the front row, I don't know...) But now in Budapest, they had killer sound, they ripped my face off :D I love Nils's playing, I didn't feel it was too loud, overall it was brilliant, they played precisely and fucking powerful and the audience went wild :D
@@krisztinafoldhazi4904 That's what the main guy in the organization group told us in front before we got in, and before the band went on the stage he took the microphone to explain why Nils isn't there. Don't know if he just lost it in Zagreb, or whatever else happened on the Croatian border but they didn't let him pass to Serbia. I am glad that they went through it and still played, even though they didn't sound great and the conditions where far from ideal. First time seeing them live was in Budapest 2019, same year few months later at Brutal Assault on Octagon Stage. Both shows where painfully loud, especially the one at BA. Third time at Kaltenbach Open Air 2022, great setlist - horrible sound. Fourth time at Brutal Assault 2023. I want to forget that show ever existed how bad it was, and how much Lars butchered the songs. Therefore I am not even counting it. Fourth time once again 2024 Belgrade. Fifth time 2024 Budapest, the best experience. Great band, with awesome musicians but I dunno did I only saw them at their worst or that's how it usually goes.
Damn, that was a big sucks then, both for Nils and for the audience... :O :( I assume that he probably left it at the previous station, although it's hard to imagine why someone wouldn't pay attention to his important personal documents... The fact that the organizers explained to the audience why Nils is missing is fair. And it's also fair that the band played the show anyway, even though without a drummer it's a fucking big sucks for such a band of this caliber. And when I saw the band's announcement, I felt damn sorry for the audience in Belgrade... I had been waiting for this concert for half a year believing that Nils had left the band and the band will use a replacement drummer, so it came as a big surprise that he would perform with the band. I known it a few days before the concert :D If he had missed the concert, I would have jumped into the Danube... :D So the BA concert really wasn't very good then... Did you also stand in front row? Or the back? The fact is, Lars's playing made my ears bleed too sometimes, and I missed the other guitarist guy too... I think a lot of things didn't went well with that concert. But now, with two guitarists, especially in Thor's performance, it was really perfect, and not only compared to the previous one. It was one of the best gigs of my life! :)

That kick sample. Perfect fit for this gig.
