lederhosen is a South German and Alpine thing Northern Germans don't wear them also Beer,Pretzels, lederhosen, dirndls, and Oktoberfest are Bavarian. North Germany and Bavaria are very very very very different culturally
North Germany appears to have a closer affinity to Northern Europe like Scandinavia and the Baltics. While Southern Germany and Austria appear to be closer culturally to Celtic Central Europe. You can even see it in their physical characteristics, Northern Germans are far more blonde and blue eyed than Southern Germans while Southern Germans and Austrians have darker features far more often. South Germany was Celtic and partly Slavic territory before Germans arrived. North German plain has always been Germanic
Great video and great editing!!! Germany seems to have epic festivals!!! So much fun and so much beer. I love it. Also the Lederhosen outfits. Sooo good.
I'll be vlogging when we go to the Stuttgart Volksfest over the next few weeks so you'll get a good view at what that is like! Towns have little festivals for a lot of things, including wine & chocolate! Plus beautiful Christmas markets. I can't wait!
+Nicholas Dobbie I was suprised at how.. Classy you can make it look. Im still finding a jacket and shoes though.. Im here in Germany for years so.. may as well go full hog and get the lot.

@@Humpelstilzchen Yes just like the Scots have their kilts for ceremonies and get togethers and other festivals. The Bavarians have their Lederhosen's for the same reasons.

Is it permissible to drink schnapps or simply have a glass of wine at Oktoberfest, irrespective of me wearing long, short or no lederhosen? That's my first question. My second question is that you mention (1) cow leather and (2) deer hide ... is there no (3) horse hide based lederhosen? I only mention this because I have motorcycle jacket made of horse hide and its wearing characteristics are very different from cowhide. Very much appreciate any advice you can give.
Hi David, I’m no professional when it comes to Oktoberfest or leather for that matter, but I recently bought a pair of lederhosen and they were made from goat hide. Goat is slightly more comfortable than cow and also slightly more expensive. Mine were bought at Bavarian Specialties in Frankenmuth, Michigan and handmade in Germany. I don’t recall seeing any deer hide ones but I wasn’t looking too hard. My main concern was comfort.
Great video Stefan, I loved it :). I had finally purchased myself some Lederhosen a few months ago when I was in Germany :).I had made two videos with my lederhosen for my YT channel lol. I can't wait to get back to Germany in the very near future :).

Pls don't go to a German traditional festival with kawaii stuff you would kill everyone
We in Germany say its nice to be a Preiß, but higher to be a bayer

Whats a lederhosen
A Traditional Bavarian outfit they were work clothes
Essentially, they are the original overall pants, infact the overall likely evolved from the lederhosen.
but still we dont know why the bavarians prefered leather panties instead of a jacket.
