Nice story, it’s hard to beat being alone on the river listening to the river run and catching wild trout, u could be at a lot worst like sitting in a pub drinking or taking drugs!

Loving these videos, started urban fishing in 2001 during the foot and mouth, for me its probably the best trouting you can get in many areas of the north, theres some good fishing to be had in Manchesters urban rivers.

Nice filming on my local river! It’s suffered with poaching over the last few years but there are still plenty of surprises to be had if you go away from the easy access areas.

I wouldn't have guessed about the poaching. We had a good day and I even got to land a couole. It's a shame to hear that that is going on.

@@flyfishinglondoner Don’t get me wrong it’s still a cracking venue but there are certain spots where cyclists and walkers I’ve spoken to have mentioned people taking fish and I’ve seen evidence of it, that are hard work now. I’m glad you had a good time on the Don and I like the fact you make the most of urban venues as I try and do the same myself so I can relate to it. When you’re up again you should try the Sheffield canal which is just round the corner from where you fished as there are a few pike, roach and perch that I’m sure would take a fly. Also I follow you on instagram so I could drop you a message and point you in the direction of a few more areas of the Don that are worth a go.

His name is Duncan Philpott, you can find him through social media. I cannot recall where we were as I'm not from Sheffield.

Interesting, I couldn’t help but focus on the shitty natural environment in public areas.
We in America take pride in public places. Unless you are in Texas, they believe in privatization.

That a load of town I have been to big cities in the USA many times and the urban environment is the same.

@@judithkelly2556 I was specifically mentioning public places. But yeah, I agree with you.
