TD stands for "Transport Diesel" that's what the germans call station wagons in their country this is the non turbo version. I had a turbo diesel W123 sedan and their awesome. If you get one make sure the vacuum pump works (it is involved in everything from the auto trans to the door locks to the engine shut off. Also be careful with rust, what you see is usually only 10% of what it really has!
Damn beautiful! It’s not in perfect showroom or restored condition at all, and that’s what I love about this example! It’s because it looks like a car I would own
"TD" = Touring Diesel. From 1981, this was chosen as the second Benz in the U.S./Canada (after the 300SD W116 in 1978) to get the turbocharged OM617 diesel engine, which seems to not only fit the "TD" designator better, but may also confuse other Benz fans as to what the two letters really mean.
Nathan, is is a non turbo. They came out with the turbo in 1981. You can see on the tail gate "DIESEL'' , on the 1981 until 1985, it was written " TURBO DIESEL'' . Plus, you can see that the manifold is going directly to the exhaust pipe, not the turbo.
Is ths video a demo of your vid cam with the stabilizer set in the OFF position? :) I think it's actually a subliminal film to get me to buy Valvoline!
My grandparents have one of these classic 300ds in maroon. It has 750,000 miles on it and still runs!

I agree dude
its color is a little bit strange but it is nice
probably it is quite strange for a mercedes, usually they are black, white or grey
Looks like the rear end is sagging.
No turbo.
This is not a turbo engine
