Fully agree on the point of pay roll and silly expenses on stock. Most young salon owners don't understand the simple concept of cash flow. If you don't understand cash flow, you not going to last!!!!
Omggg the tip about the marketing service without a proper campaign being a waste was so helpful I wish I would’ve added it to my marketing video. Thanks for the wisdom!
Thank you so much I've been hairdressing for 27 years what you have taught me is common sense and simple steps I've owned my own salons for years now and as dumb as it sounds never had a real plan or goal and always under sold my services and products. I'm excited about a new start l have just relocated my salon and I'm going to hire a salon manager. And love the advice on recognition to staff I think I have always cared for my staff and looked after them but will make more of an effort to set goals and recognize them for reaching them. thank you for taking the time to care about your industry and share in your success God bless.
I am in Business School in Nashville TN. and this video was outstanding. I am working on a Business Plan in class to own and operate a salon geared towards the LGBT community, especially the Transgender community.
very good talk and informative as well but one thing i have to raise my voice " COMON ! HAIRDRESSERS ARE THE UK's LEAST EARNERS" even some coffee shops give more salary per hour then hair salons. I think people who are opening salons needs to have vision and money. It seems like everyone open a salon which cheapen the industry prices. at 2008 an average haircut was £60 now at 2016 its down to £57. It because people just open salons filling up with soulless staff and cheap products.
