I visit the Northumberland area every couple weeks from Milton Keynes, always have to make a detour to Newcastle to Mumtaj to get Masala Fish with Chips with Chilli and Garlic Sauce with the salad 10/10. Every time.

My dad use to bring home masala fish after his work the family enjoyed it not me though but being from Pakistan you could understood why he enjoyed may Allah grant him heaven, Ameen

The meal it's self looked dry. Did you request not to have the salad? It's a fraud that they charge extra for sauces. The economic downturn is definitely kicking in it seems.. 😂
I thought it looks good and honest. Too many places have that ultra red colour and ready made sauce taste when it comes to masala fish. The nan looks light and fresh, fish looks nicely spiced and not over the top. Also, sometimes don't have to drench stuff in sauces, just a touch of need be is good enough.
Mumtaj fast food are a very well established and good food Takeway, I had their masala fish with Nan and the chips the other day it was fantastic and quite filling actually, keep up the good content bro 👌

£5.50 for masala fish, chips and naan. Thats a bargain. Rare to get chips and naan. Need to travel down south more often, wont get that meal for under £7

Pangas is a very dirty fish, it is farmed under very dirty conditions,
Bloody hell but I was looking at going to this place until I saw they had a 1 star food hygiene rating. Not a chance I'll be getting anything from there, I'll tell ya sorry Food Troll. Last date of inspection was after this video on 10 February 2022, so hope you didn't catch anything.

Portion size of chips was laughable but hey ho, you get what you pay for and £5,50 is a decent price tbf.

Firstly I hope everyone recovered fully now.
I like that they disclosed what fish they are using. I love masala fish but, it really annoys me when I ask takeaway what fish they using and they reply with saying it “white fish”. They know fine well that isn’t really an answer! It’s like a kabab shops saying their doner is made of meat!
Anyways for me you can’t beat cod or haddock masala fish. They right about masala doesn’t stick to cod/haddock as well. But, If you have fresh fish (not frozen) and dried properly it will stick well. I believe with catfish doesn’t have much oil/fat in it which helps to stop the masala falling off.
They definitely been counting how many chips they give per person 😂

I'm a Geordie lass who now lives outside of Newcastle! I remember going to Mumtaj for their doner kebabs, have to say they were lovely.
Masala fish is not really my thing definitely like marmite as my husband loves it. Can’t believe they gave you so little chips 🤣
£5.50 including the naan bread and drink? I don't know what's the problem with the price? Issue here is people want quality but don't want to pay the money. Food troll you should know better and shouldn't dog an establishment over a couple of chips that's well priced. I enjoy your channel and content but you DO over criticise sometimes it's only a fiver for a meal, would you rather it be £3.50 and low quality?

what you want to do is a top 10 league table for each type of food. and then have the results on this page. a top 10 for pizza, burgers, fish and chips for example, so a category for each. then check your reviews and order them in a top 10 list for each category . for each league table, have the name og the place and postcode. That way people know what's hot & whats not lol and what to visit and try. No other food review channel does that. Thats what I would do if I was doing this. But upto you. Keep up the great work

For all the people in the comments you do get an option for salad or sauce he is getting naan chips and the fish for 5.50 show me any other place who do tht for that price and the quality and the taste a will pay for ur fish I have been many places for fish nothing beating this fish it’s not famous for nothing Mashallah been there for 20 years the quality of the food has never changed always been the same since day one you can’t judge the fish unless you tried it and the chips the brother got on top was without any charge they were being generous would say if he paid for the chips but he didn’t so no point complaining about the amount he got
The food was amazing... and so was the shop.
