Under NO circumstances should she be granted a continuance. The judge has already said that this trial will NOT be continued for any reason, barring extraordinary circumstances. They’re not giving continuance for a lawyer coming on to the case. The judge said only for extreme extenuating circumstance that would NOT include retainment of counsel. The trial is happening in October whether she likes it or not.
I doubt that she will get any lawyer to represent her. It is already known that lawyers resigned for ethical reasons, she has latwr maligned them publicly. And any lawyer would risk being stuck with her, because as a judge I would not accept their recusal unless something really major would happen. I would say: you knew to what circus you were walking in. Also judge already warned that there is no continuance, so this lawyer should also consider that they might need to prepare this case on short notice. And they would have to have a lot of time to spend with Sarah to satisfy her demads. What lawyer would have that much time on short notice? I doubt that she would get anyone.
I would not give her continuance. I would give her standby counsel who can help her get her witnesses things like that, but who does not work for her and make it very clear that this person is to help you out on the things that are hard but they are not your employee or lawyer.
She would still want to fire them - if they didn’t quit first on an ethical grounds because she’s likely trying to take an angle that isn’t backed by any evidence.

Any lawyer she gets can’t get a delay, this trial is going on the day it is now set for regardless. It’s firm. She is either not reading or ignoring the judge’s written decision. I am giggling with anticipation of this trial.
I'm starting to find her actions more than frustrating. She's complicit in a man's death. It would be nice if Sarah could think of Jorge's family and even her own child's trauma and make a deal with the prosecution. Serve her time and move on. Maybe she could get some help with her mental health.

She has a personality disorder. She doesn't need a psych eval - she isn't claiming insanity or diminished capacity. Millions of people have personality disorders.... a psych eval changes nothing. I'm not sure she begged to take her own case. She wants a lawyer to do exactly what she wants him/her to do, even if it goes against their professional judgment and morals. I don't know if that person exists, unless perhaps she gets a mob lawyer. 🙂

They’re not giving continuance for a lawyer coming on to the case. The judge said only for extreme extenuating circumstance that would NOT include retainment of counsel. The trial is happening in October whether she likes it or not.
I doubt that she will get any lawyer to represent her. It is already known that lawyers resigned for ethical reasons, she has latwr maligned them publicly. And any lawyer would risk being stuck with her, because as a judge I would not accept their recusal unless something really major would happen. I would say: you knew to what circus you were walking in. Also judge already warned that there is no continuance, so this lawyer should also consider that they might need to prepare this case on short notice. And they would have to have a lot of time to spend with Sarah to satisfy her demads. What lawyer would have that much time on short notice? I doubt that she would get anyone.
I would not give her continuance. I would give her standby counsel who can help her get her witnesses things like that, but who does not work for her and make it very clear that this person is to help you out on the things that are hard but they are not your employee or lawyer.
She would still want to fire them - if they didn’t quit first on an ethical grounds because she’s likely trying to take an angle that isn’t backed by any evidence.
She ll still try and abuse it

Regarding giving her a continuance, no way. If she truly wants a continuance, she should kindly and humbly ask, like her other lawyers did. But all she does here is verbally abuse other people. Stick her in there with physical copies of her discovery and other files and give her access to research on a locked down laptop and let her go ham. 90% of her complaints solved, though then she's gonna complain that she was put in isolation instead of being allowed to be amongst her peers.

She’s so extra and dramatic, she got her discovery the day after this letter, so it was a few days ago. Darrell Brooks got his discovery only a few days before the start of the trial. So I’m guessing it’ll be OK. Nobody really cared that he only had a few days, as far as the judge was concerned.
