What an awesome update. The CR-78 is my favorite vintage drum machine. I actually own one but you know, it's kinda good to know this is available in case my CR-78 kicks the bucket heh. Also, really nice touch of including the original patterns though I suppose you're missing out on the ability to mash down a couple buttons at a time to get interesting pattern mashups (unless I missed something here). Not a huge deal really though, it's just a fun tactile thing on the 78.

One of the really cool things is that the Guiro and Tambourine rhythms are synced to the tempo (fading them in and out is what Phil used to do during Duchess) - I also have an R8 and that doesn't work with the CR78 samples on there of course. I have faked this in Beatmaker with timestretching. Does the TR8S ACB implementation do this?

Something I've always wondered about when it comes to these modern groove box/drum machine units as compared to the originals. I have an Autovari 64, and a Roland TR-77. Both of these (very) old analog machines had a great trick up their sleeves in that you could press multiple physical buttons (typically two) and get some compound/combined rhythms out of them like mix a Latin samba button with a rock 2 button at the same time to get some cool interplay. On these modern TR machines can you select two or more presets at the same time like the original analog units?
Updated mine. Have the individual CR78 sounds scattered. But can't find the Kit or the CR78 preset rhythms. My guess is because I have my projects saved there. Do I perform a back up and then do a factory reset? In order to get the CR 78 pattern presets and the Kit. Has any one done this before? Is it confusing? Any help much appreciate it. Thank you.

I want a proper song mode where I can tell the TR8S to play beat 01 b 4 times, 15e 4 times, etc. A feature that’s been around since the 80s yet was left off of this machine for some reason.
