Hey I'm a TH-cam gamer and usually 30 minutes of video become 12 gigs for me, but this is just amazing, now I dont have to wait an entire day to upload a video
I followed everything they did and compressed my 9.81GB video to 840.1MB, thank you! I did have some issues with how the file saved though. Once the file exported it became a TextEdit Document and couldn't be opened. After over 4 hours of troubleshooting and thinking their was something wrong with my computer, it turns out all I needed to do was add ".mp4" at the end of the exported file to make it work😅. It seems I deleted ".mp4" when renaming the file under saved as before exporting, whoops! Hoping, if by chance anyone else makes this silly mistake, that they'll see this comment for a quick solution🤪.

Lossy compression is just what it's name suggests: loss of quality through compression. The methods showcased here is lossy compression. It may not be noticeable to some people especially if you are using a small or low quality output device (screen, computer, etc.) but make no mistake- there is loss of quality.
Very correct. You took the words right out of my head. But how about a universal data compressor that losslessly compresses a 100mb video to less than 1mb? Yes you heard: losslessly. Not even the slightest loss of quality. SWILL-CODEC performs such magic with ease.
@@ofemuguru9393 what is SWILL codec? can you link me. Google search doesn't turn up anything for me. I know there's HEVC .265 and upcoming .266 but they don't compress to such a ratio losslessly.

i had a school assignment i had to make a video but it was big so the school website wouldnt allow it but when i saw this video and used the software the compressed video was smaller and the it allowd it so now i sended the video to my teacher to check thank you very much with this idea it helped me lot!

Thanks for posting I increased my RF:51 I had to max it out because my file were huge. I am grateful for your kindness by sharing this application that has saved me a lot of time and effort. You were to the point and that matters most when one in facing a deadline.
It defaults to H264 but change that to that H265 for a much higher compression ratio that still delivers good quality. Downside is older computers may not be able to play back the HEVC file but almost any phone will.
Downloaded this file last night. Thank you for this video. Great program. Was disappointed because I couldn't get anything to post on FB. Files were to large. I volunteer as a Crew Chief on vintage Huey helicopters. Got a GOPRO. Mounted it to my flight helmet. Couldn't get them to post. Now they post very fast. 8 gig files are now .8 gig. with no lose of quality. Wish I could post a video for you.

This application really deserves it's reputation. I compressed a 5GB movie all the way down to 332MB. It is really helpful if you (for example) want to store stuff on your phone. I can definitely recommend this software!

could be a.whole bunch of reasons. What codec and compile settings does your source file have? Level, bitrate, bitdepth, dimention... If it's compressed in V8/V9 or .264/5 the only way to make it smaller is by losing quality. And btw, compression is always lossy. Many ppl just don't have the hardware/monitors with ability to display the higher.quality. Like HDR. Or h.265 4k60.

I tried it and everything worked fine but the source video was 70mbs and the outcome was 40mbs so It did compress by 30mbs but I sadly need it under 25, Thank you for keeping it so simple and short keep it up!

If you drag the file then it will default to m4v. Just make sure that you click the drop down box back to MP4 so that removes the default file type.

I tried it and everything worked fine but the source video was 70mbs and the outcome was 40mbs so It did compress by 30mbs but I sadly need it under 25, Thank you for keeping it so simple and short keep it up!
Thank You for making this video.I use handbrake now to compress video file size because i have a website that has limited size and i tried uploading without compression and i wasnt able to upload.This handbrake solved the problem with your instructions .Thank You sir.
