My female budgie has been really unwell lately and I’ve been having to syringe feed her 5 times a day, and it has been so hard to do as it stresses her out, however when I put this video on she is stress free and makes the whole process so much easier, she literally runs to my phone to see him, and is actually having her med “she would normally just spit it out” and she is feeling so much better thanks to this guy!! I was given bird seed containing antibiotics for my birds if they were ever ill, what a surprise. I'm concerned about the short life budgies have these days, they lived to 14 or 15 when I had my first budgies in 1956. Mum's got her first budgie in 1954, his name was Tosh, he lived into his teens. This video of Derek just made my day! My budgie Blue LOVES Derek. I play it sometimes to her on my phone. When she accidentally flew away today, I played Derek at a loud speakers outside the house and Blue came back in less than 5 min. Thank you!!!! ❤
Buy another in a separate cage same room. Allow few days & let 1st bird out. Let it explore new cage & budgie from outside, if all well & they are speaking to each other then let 2nd bird out in its own time. Let them decide who's pad or seperate pads..

Actually, they can! If the singular budgie has a good human companion that will notice and play with them, they will be perfectly fine. Although, it is better to have your budgie accompanied by another budgie.
If you use mirrors and voices from videos like this with your budgie, then you shouldn't be allowed to have animals at all. Well, maybe lice or bedbugs.

I play videos ect play with her , she flys nearly every day , she's still young and new , anyway I felt she needed more and this seams to be working ... she's chatting and jumping around the perches more, if the time comes I feel she can handle a friend then of course , it's different having one , I've always had 2 , I love her 😍 💕

My budgie, Wiggle, hangs out with Derek EVERYDAY on iPad next to cage. Gets grumpy if tablet flat. Has the same conversation with him everyday and loves his friend so much!
Sadly I lost one of my two girls last night, so played this to the one left so she didn't feel alone until I got her a new friend. She is singing away to it as I type this. I am devaststed as I got the two of them after losing both my Mum & Dad, so meant all the more to me. Going to get another to put in cage next to her until they are used to each other, then will go in together. RIP STAR 😢💔
Hello last night my bird was sitting on my phone listening to Derek who is such a sweet boy and when I woke up my bird was dead it escaped it's cage so it can lay on me to sleep and I rolled over on her as I slept and I know I sound like the bad guy but it was an accident really it was and now as I'm writing this we're digging a grave for my sweet little girl who I love so very much and she loved derek so thank you Derek.
You're right, mine will start chirping at the vacuum cleaner and other sounds. I've been luck to be able to watch budgies in the outback, the flocks fly for miles, they hardly stop. They are said to fly for up to 200 miles a day, hardly time to stop for a chatter. I was disappointed 😥as I expected them to stop once in a while, so I could chat, we get strange ideas about budgies when we see them in cages or flying round the sitting room. They are no more sociable than our sparrows, that fly around in small flocks, or swallows that gather into flocks before migrating. They meet to mate, bring up young and feed where food is plentiful, they love the tips from the branches of saltbushes. I'll get my 2 budgies a saltbush in a pot, attractive as an indoor plant.
i suposse he may need a friend but budgie quite litterly sit and talk all day play with toys clean themselves and eat and drink since this one is a boy is talking the hole time because males are more vocal plus the owner of the budgie may be living with there parents as a teen or so and not aloud to get another budgie like me i want to become a budgie breeder but my mom wont alow me to get a male budgie because she thinks we dont have enough space etc. my mom let me get a female tho because they cant mate
i’m not sure if this is torture or fun for my single budgie. When i play any budgie noise videos he looks around and starts chirping, wondering where the birds are.

My new budgie was shy and a little afraid, but when I played this for her, she started coming out of her shell. She flew over to me and sat on my shoulder. She was rubbing beak on me and was tweeting her heart out.
I really wish it worked the same to me :') my little one is kinda like got trust issues lmao- i opened its cage and played this for him to get comfy, and i tried to make him get used to me by laying my hand inside its cage some few times, i guess it's still work in progress 🧍♀️
Yeah, that's because the budgie is desperate for a social companion. They live in flocks & this is on the cruel side however well intentioned. They should be bought in pairs.
@@seltaeb9691 she had a companion and wasn't interested in him at all. She prefers my company. She only goes in her cage at night and is by the picture window where wild birds are all day. She cannot fly so has free run of the house. When I got her a companion she wouldn't share with him and preferred to play with me. She thinks she's a human I think. She is a much loved and pampered little birdie who is cleaned out twice a day and had a varied diet and lots of toys and games to play. I do my best as no one else wanted her.

Hello last night my bird was sitting on my phone listening to Derek who is such a sweet boy and when I woke up my bird was dead it escaped it's cage so it can lay on me to sleep and I rolled over on her as I slept and I know I sound like the bad guy but it was an accident really it was and now as I'm writing this we're digging a grave for my sweet little girl who I love so very much and she loved derek so thank you Derek.

You're right, mine will start chirping at the vacuum cleaner and other sounds. I've been luck to be able to watch budgies in the outback, the flocks fly for miles, they hardly stop. They are said to fly for up to 200 miles a day, hardly time to stop for a chatter. I was disappointed 😥as I expected them to stop once in a while, so I could chat, we get strange ideas about budgies when we see them in cages or flying round the sitting room. They are no more sociable than our sparrows, that fly around in small flocks, or swallows that gather into flocks before migrating. They meet to mate, bring up young and feed where food is plentiful, they love the tips from the branches of saltbushes. I'll get my 2 budgies a saltbush in a pot, attractive as an indoor plant.

i suposse he may need a friend but budgie quite litterly sit and talk all day play with toys clean themselves and eat and drink since this one is a boy is talking the hole time because males are more vocal plus the owner of the budgie may be living with there parents as a teen or so and not aloud to get another budgie like me i want to become a budgie breeder but my mom wont alow me to get a male budgie because she thinks we dont have enough space etc. my mom let me get a female tho because they cant mate

My new budgie was shy and a little afraid, but when I played this for her, she started coming out of her shell. She flew over to me and sat on my shoulder. She was rubbing beak on me and was tweeting her heart out.
I really wish it worked the same to me :') my little one is kinda like got trust issues lmao- i opened its cage and played this for him to get comfy, and i tried to make him get used to me by laying my hand inside its cage some few times, i guess it's still work in progress 🧍♀️

Yeah, that's because the budgie is desperate for a social companion. They live in flocks & this is on the cruel side however well intentioned. They should be bought in pairs.
@@seltaeb9691 she had a companion and wasn't interested in him at all. She prefers my company. She only goes in her cage at night and is by the picture window where wild birds are all day. She cannot fly so has free run of the house. When I got her a companion she wouldn't share with him and preferred to play with me. She thinks she's a human I think. She is a much loved and pampered little birdie who is cleaned out twice a day and had a varied diet and lots of toys and games to play. I do my best as no one else wanted her.
