Such a beautiful bird, Cookie! But he's putting on age..... soon to be 8 years old, I think. And his age is showing.... Cookie is going through molting as well, it seems. Makes him appear to be sick. Which he isn't, but all budgie owners know this period well.

It's cruel. Budgies are social for each other. Buy two & you will be 3 as a group. Too late for this insane bird hours with a mirror on a flat top. Not good & all the idiots here will copy it. Not good.
@@seltaeb9691 While I agree with you (as would also the Channel owner), you've got to understand the history of Cookie first. Cookie was a single budgie with the owners for a significant period of his life. The second budgie pal, Biscuit, came along maybe 3 years ago. So, that's a good 7 something years Cookie has been alone with the owners all this while. The toys the owners provided to Cookie included mirrors, because Budgies tend to think of the "other budgie" as another friend.
Its not exactly unhealthy (or even unheard of) for single budgies to show much time spent and appreciation for mirrors. Yes, spending lots of time with your budgie (especially when you have a single bird) helps to cut out this kind of behavior. But it is nearly unavoidable, especially if you have a flighted bird, much like what Cookie was (and is). Even if you don't provide mirror toys, the bird will eventually find some mirror in the house and get attached to it.
Ultimately, it boils down to how you want to approach your behavior and teaching mechanisms with your bird. Stringent and diligent measures taken might keep the bird away from such activity/behavior, but what would that achieve at the end of the day? As a long time budgie parent myself, I can tell you for a fact that it would result in a depressed and unhappy bird.
So perhaps it becomes more of a necessary evil, but not necessary one that can't be controlled. Cheers!

They don't really get pregnant. They can lay eggs whether fertile or not.
There is a very slight swelling of the lower belly before they lay an egg.
I'm sure there are TH-cam videos on caring for eggs.

My parakeet keeps moving with his tail (more than normal). He also often chews and opens his mouth a lot (almost like a gag). Is he dying? I'm really sad. Please answer me.
I think he’s just sick. He might also be bored or stressed, to make sure to calm your bird and make him comfortable, and change your birds toys and play with it a lot. Get it checked at the vet, though.

I think you need to clip his nails they are very long.
I was just thinking the same thing....long nails can be very dangerous...learning to pull broken pin feathers and clip nails would be my first lesson before ever owning a bird...essential bird care ❤
