Gotta say, if youre just starting out, go electric for as much as you can. No maintenance, just charge your batteries. I did electric right out of the gate in 2021 (except for the main mower) and it has saved me so much money and time.
Thanks brother, I want to start a lawn service business I have a push mower, backpack leaf blower, echo weed trimmer and a echo edger, I have a good friend helping me out, showing me the ropes I have two small yard accounts, God bless you brother.
Another good option. I kept my start-up cost really low being able to fix stuff. I got most my equipment needing some work. got a free honda 216 self-propelled mower free. new carb, clean up and it ran great.has made me a few bucks gonna end up getting something else for next season. backpack blower I got needed a tune up got it cheap. stick edger homeowner went electric sold it cheap. there's deals out there to be had.
I’m in that spot now solo push 21 weed eater and back pack blower and thanks for doing what you do taking your time and doing the meet ups me and my son was at the last one we had a great time
I just picked up two tomemasters from my local yard waste place. Piecing everything together to get 1 usable machine. Only a few more parts to swap over and it'll be ready.
Hey Mack! I appreciate the content brother! I started my lawn care business on June 1st. You and Florida Turf Pros are my go to for insight and info. I'm a "Chuck in a truck" and have been looking to upgrade from my Troy Built 21" push mower. I'd been looking at the Toro Time Master but after your review in this video I pulled the trigger on a used one (picked up for $750) and LOVE it! For trimming I'm using the Ryobi 'Expand It" gas powered line. Currently at 6 customers and growing. Thanks for all the great content and inspiration!
We mow several country cemeteries and other municipal property's. I use all Echo and Toro commercial mowers. Great dealer support in our area, which is very important. Enjoyed the video. Good luck to you and your TH-cam channel.
I am 15, and I've run my own landscaping business for 2 years now going on 3, and finally transitioned into an Exmark Radius S series with a 52 in. deck. What chute block would you recommend for that mower??
That’s dope buddy, keep killin it 🔥💪🏽🫡 …They’re all pretty good so I can’t really recommend 1 over another for a mower I’ve never ran but I’ll tell you what I’m using on my mowers.. I run Grandstands and I’ve been using the Flex Chute but do some more research and see what people who have your mower think and then make your decision. I hope that helps my friend 🫡
Great video, I switched to stile 57 (sp) . idk .. use to use an echo , curved shaft . getting use to the long shaft . nor happy with the edging . idk ..
Unfortunately, I can’t tell you what you should charge but I’d say just set a minimum price you want to make for your time, time yourself, and then start adjusting based on your market …Hope that helps 🫡
@mack_landscaping412 For sure! This hit home bro, I'm sittin on the sidelines cause I'm thinking I need a 2k toro 21" to get started 🤔 I got a commercial trimmer and a decent handheld blower by Stihl...but the mower is my homeowners craftsman 163cc that I've had for at least 5yrs!...just don't want to get on someone's lawn that thing die on me half way thru!...but vid inspired me to just get out there and think 'What if everything works out'! Thx again🫵🏽👊🏽
Yes, I bid jobs when they come in through my website & I also have a lot of customers through word of mouth…I only use google and the logos on my trailer
If the trimmer breaks down it’s outta commission and only 1 person can use it …its the same either way 🤦🏽♂️ of course we know things can break but the point was, the PAS is more versatile for a solo person just starting out
You’re welcome buddy. I’d start with whatever you have and get going. I started with used homeowner equipment and built from there. All you gotta do is be consistent and grind💯🫡

Good advice…The battery powered equipment is getting really good 💯
That's how I started. Echo PAS 225. Then a year later upgraded to the PAS 2620. It's crazy how much you can grow when you invest back into yourself
It happens fast 💯

Got our great danes at penn hills rental over 15 years ago. They are our backups and still kickin!

That 30 inch Toro is the truth with double blades, that's what I'm using, Love it
I loved it when I had it …I gave it to a guy just starting his business 3 years ago and he’s still using it …Captain Jack loved it too💯

Thank you my friend and you’re right …dealer support is more important than the mower/equipment brand imo 💯🫡

@@mack_landscaping412 thanks!! I really appreciate it!
I did same thing start with the pas. Once you know you need two weedaters buy just a weedeater.
I agree bro 💯🫡
Shindawa, echo, and sthl do it for me. And my all time favorite old school 48in walk behind bobcat.💰💰💰💪💪💪

I got a Honda mower thing has lasted 8 years so far never had to do anything to it. Fires up every single time haha
Honda mowers are dope💯
Hi Mack I just have one question do you ever think to hire more people for your company?
New castle, PA in the house 😎 I'll be getting equipment ready for next season to start off I work full time already. Looking for side gig
🔥🔥🔥 Hope to see you at the 2025 Lawn Care Setup Showcase in March 💯🫡
Time master are good mower for fall not spring weather
The Timemaster was great for me the entire season 💯
@@mack_landscaping412 in Texas during the spring grass to wet machine always boggled down. If you set at high setting and open chute she is a beast

Thank you my friend 💯…how do you like the Stihl stuff???
I know need a 36 inch stand up zero turn mower and a trailer, just picked up a truck.
Keep grinding 💪🏽 It will all come with time & consistency 💯🫡
I never go to the Stihl section just keep walk-in by. Lol.
I’d try em but just haven’t needed to change anything and now I’d just rather keep it all uniform 😂
Thanks for the advice

Doing lawn work is a real job. Can't knock their hustle at least they are getting off their ass trying to make a way just saying 🤷🏿♂️

500 for a push mower is crazy. I miss when they were sub 200 😂
Ain’t that the truth 😂
If PAS breaks down then ALL of your tools are out of commission and only one person can use it.

Recycler suck. Need a front wheel drive
self propelled mowers are definitely a must 💯
@@mack_landscaping412 absolutely but front wheel. Rear wheel drive are great if they are commercial
