actually clever would have been to adapt to the new circumstances as a dog not living in the wild but instead being taken care of by humans and have her puppies in a place where the humans would be able to take care of her like most dogs, or to at least show them the location of the puppies later so they could be fed properly, if it was missing for 4 days then it probably hadn't gotten food during that time either, and if there were any medical issues they would have been done for, it's a good thing the humans found her.

@@thespanishinquisition7560 You're speaking from a human perspective, and that's alright, but don't go imposing what you believe to be the "correct way" as fact. If she was engaging in those instincts, and was able to keep her "perfectly healthy" (as the video states) pups alive, she was eating enough to not only survive, but provide. She was a clever doggo, but I guess there's always got to be smart asses like you trying to one up a stranger on the internet.

This happened when I was younger and my dog was pregnant and we thought she ran away. We walked all over the neighborhood showing pictures of her to everyone we saw. Later we found her in the backyard in a hole with her puppies. 💕 Our other dog was digging for like a week in that spot and we found out she made it for the other dog to go in to have her puppies. It's crazy how smart these animals are and how they help each other.

Some of the very old houses are so beautiful but they have odd spaces where homes have been added on to. I had one of the best dogs ever in the first time he disappeared He had to be rescued from a place between the walls in the basement. Never could find how he got in there. I heard him howling and crying a couple days after he was gone. The second time he disappeared I never found him. I never heard him. And I don't know if there were more places on the farm that he fell into. It's been 20 years and I still wonder when I think of it. It still breaks my heart. If you live in an old home and never have missing pets, just a thought to walk around slowly or go in the basement and listen at the walls.😢

She dug under the shed a nest, but we wanted her to give birth in our house porch which was heated, and basically a whole room for the dog and her pups. It was a quiet area as well for her. There were coyotes around which is why we didn't let her do it under the shed. I buried the hole/nest she made once I got her out, so she wouldn't go back there (and put a piece of wood there to block it for good measure).
Once she knew we made a space for her, with old clean blankets/towels/cardboard "bed" she soon gave birth during the night afterwards in comfort.
All pups survived and she was a great mom.

We only found out she was missing after the hole had been closed and the cat had been missing for over a day.
Dad to spend over 2 hours re-digging the hole, and then I was the only one small enough to crawl through the small tunnel connecting 2 halves of the crawlspace. Creepy, small, claustrophobic, dark and utterly terrifying. Also, suddenly eyes lightning up in the dark and the screaming of that panicked kitty after 1,5 days without food or water in the dark when I suddenly showed up. What an experience. Poor little kitty

What a beauty! I was so thoroughly blessed to have been allowed to be a volunteer at Bays Mountain City Park in Kingsport, Tn where I was a wolf momma for 2 summers in a row. The first year we had 3 pups and the next we had 4 pups which brought our wolf pack up to a total of 10 wolves. Although the fences are electrified which the adult wolves know, the most magical experience, besides helping to raise wolf pups from 4 weeks old to 4 months old when they’d be integrated with the adult wolves, the alpha male wolf (who only knew me as a human helping the puppies as well as the human who created a recipe just for them which I call pumpkin leather), came into the area that’s kinda like a shoot which allows the wolves to go from 1 pen to another and this is the only area not electrified. He stood in this area while I was able to reach in and give him a full body massage for about 20 minutes while I talked with him. He was one of the greatest wolves at the park - very good with the puppies, and a wonderful aloha leader for the pack. Up close and personal with him is something I’ll never forget as he had accepted me as part of the pack.

Shes obviously a hybrid, I have had many wolf/husky pups and she looks just like my girl Shyanne, light blue eyes and all. This is their natural instinct to find a cubby/den or burrow to bunker done and have their pups in a safe place. So beautiful how motherhood instinctively comes out and they know what to do for their babies. If only humans could do the same for their young.

Such as a quick reminder to always get your dogs, cat spayed and neuter. If you can, it is the easiest way to prevent them from going missing for a couple of days and having extra bills and extra mouths to feed it also will prevent long-term health issues for your dog can lower the chances of them having complications and or developing cancers. It’s just better for their health over all. Also, there is a huge overpopulation issue of domestic dogs and cats not just in this country, but worldwide and everything that we is individuals can do to help lower this problem helps incredibly.

I alwaya am always very iffy about the concept of population control on our pets . As practical as it sounds in terms of monetary, economics, quality of life and solving of overpopulation of abandon pets. If we start saying we should spay certain demographics of humans because of the exact same reasons, that would be horrendous.
Alot of us think cats and dogs have no higher form of thinking. I call bullshit. What if they have dreams of wanting to be parents too. Spayinh them be kinda fucked up.

This brings joy to my heart seeing the little boy going down under the house and in that little tunnel to retrieve the puppies. What makes me so happy? Is it reminds me so much of myself and my dad and family when I was a kid.I remember my dad's cousin was locked out Oh the house and my little cousin wasn't home at the time but I was with my dad always voice and there was a small crack in the window. And nobody could get in but I volunteered and I did it it felt like a mission impossible mission. And as soon as I opened the door everybody jumped up hugged me and said great job I was so proud because my dad was so happy because his son. Solved the problem that save this from hearing it from the wives spending money e t c. I used to do stuff like that all the time and it was always of adventure for me. Because I was the adventurous kid always playing imaginative and when I was able to put those skills to the test or to good use I was always. Happy because my dad would be so happy and proud because that was his son doing all those things. And I can tell I really brought a lot of joy to my dad so anytime. I had a chance to show off in front of my dad's friends. I would do it so that way it makes my dad. Look good and they would give him a Pat on the back for raising such a great kid. So that was my goal in life before my dad passed was. To make my dad proud and happy so that way he can say to himself. That's me I raised that kid exclamation poi would have done anything to make my dad happy and it kills me every day to see a father. Is sent together? But I know my dad would be disappointed if I was sad seeing such a good moment in life between a father and son. My dad would say don't feel bad about that because that was us!My dad was very wise
