North America has so much to learn from other countries - I think because we are car centric that convince stores haven’t become what they are in Japan and it sounds like other Asian countries - however those of us that live in urban centres (I live half way between a university and my city’s centre 🇨🇦) I think these kinds of connivence stores would succeed with so many folks walking, biking, public transport - you’ve already got me planning my first three meals 😂🤣 gotta have fruit smoothies, boiled eggs, rice with salmon/soy sauce for sure - am GF so still working on noodles and bread substitutes 😢 thnx for sharing - it was a tough job but I’m glad you did it 🤣😂
Yes, 7 Elevens work really well in areas where you walk, bike or take public transportation. The true meaning of convenience store. If you visit Japan, just make sure to not eat at 7 Eleven for all your meals. 😂 There are a lot of amazing Japanese restaurants to try.
@@grifsfoodandtravel wish I could - from what I hear Japan is a wonderful place to visit / explore - Montreal is as far as I get from home these days (am two hrs west of Toronto) dim sum in Chinatown is always on top of my to do list - but maybe my host can find us a Japanese restaurant for my next trip - just discovered your videos today - only watched the Japanese convenience store ones - will have to check out the rest - thnx for sharing your adventures 🇨🇦🙏
Hey! Love the video!! You probably already know this but i think theres an error with the microphone that youre using. I think the input is in sterro mode (aka its only coming through one side of the earphones when you hear back) - im not sure of the technical terms but if you need help setting it up for your next video, i can try and send you a relevant video on youtube. Otherwise love the videos!!
Same problem was already on the last video about Sushiro, where I mentioned it in the comments. Grif already confirmed there his mic was actually switched to stereo. I was hoping that that really was the problem but not all sure... But since the problem is on this one too that should really confirm it was the mic and not something that happened in edit. Grif mentioned that since didn't notice a few of the following releases would have the same problem, but it's fixed for the future now :>
Thanks @Serenaeatss for watching and pointing out the mic issue. Luckily @AragonTigerseye pointed out this issue earlier, so I was able to correct my mic setting back to mono. Unfortunately I still have few more episodes coming out in the future that are still affected by my mic. Hope you continue to enjoy the videos, as Tokyo videos are on the way.
That is hard to say, because they all have their own brand products and also carry similar products by other vendors. And they keep prices similar for those items. 7-11 is the largest convenience store chain, so they probably have a bigger selection of products and better pricing, if I had to choose.
Yes, they have a lot of soups and salads, as well as onigiri with seasoned seaweed, rice and salted plum. There are tofu options and also sweet breads. I'll take a look the next time I'm in Japan 7 Eleven to see what else they have. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Sorry, if you are using headphones, you will have to use both ear buds. I had microphone issues with some of my episodes.
