Tamilnadu has very colourful Kanchipuram silk sarees and Dharmapuram silk sarees. Our cotton sarees too are very beautiful and colourful.

I m Maithili speaker and we are proud of our dressing style.
Traditional dresses are worn during pooja and functions like weddings. Men do not have much choices in traditional or even in western wear whereas women have so many choices.
In Andhra Pradesh girls wear colorful langa-voni and when they reach puberty they wear half sarees and after marriage wear sarees.
South Indian ladies like to wear heavy jewelry.
Overall Indians like to wear colorful dresses.
Assam is my state..was born and bough up in Assam but now settled in Bangalore. You should check out more about the North East part of India the 7 sister states Assam a part of it.. I don't know if possible to courier to Pak..will check want to send you guys the most important "Gamucha" and "Mekhala Chador" made out of silk worm from Assam.. Best wishes!

The guy describing the Indian dresses is frequently pronouncing tussar silk is Tushar (as in Tushar Kapoor) . However its actually pronunciation is Tassar (as in Usher, without the H)

Lungi and dhoti are not the same....veshti in tamilnadu is dhoti only and not lungi... Lungi is generally based on cotton and hollow from top to bottom while veshti or dhoti is left open at one end and has to be physically tied. Dhotis have angavastra as well and dhotis can be worn between legs or otherwise....4 yards dhoti worn normally and 9 or 10 yards dhotis are worn through legs....(called panchagacham)

Lungi is generally of cotton
Dhoti has borders called jari (cotton or silk)
Lungi does not have borders
Dhoti will be generally white
Lungi can be of any colour
Lungi is a casual wear
