This has been my favorite song and music video for the longest time. I love how the lyrics say I won't let you go and in the video, we see that. the girl is disoriented, she is hardly looking his direction , her mind is somewhere else, she is hurting and when she lies down. I imagine people around her are her loved ones and friends. Her parents etc. they are looking down at her, worried. Instead of coming to pick her up and try to dust her off, he comes and lies beside her NOT letting her go but instead allowing her to feel whatever it is she is feeling. I love that this inturn causes her close ones to do the same. Sometimes you need to let the people you love go through and feel what they are feeling and all you need to do for them is offer your love and support ... your hand for them to hold. What a beautiful representation of an already perfect song!

This was our first dance song on our wedding day, 11 years ago today. We meet through a Councillor who set us up 13 years ago.
This song means so much to us and provides us with so much comfort.
James is an incredible underrated musician and I love everything he has done.
I was lucky enough to see him perform in Northampton a few years ago in his hometown.
I'm sure i bumped into him busking in Kingsthorpe outside Northampton when I was a student in the early 00's.
His voice is so distinctive, just a class act.

I'm living this song! I'm all alone and my "friends" have left me, when I needed a friend the most, them knowing I was just diagnosed with cancer. My husband failed me. My siblings don't care. Not one visited me in the hospital. My doggie has died And my soul is broken. But I have a son that needs me, so I can't leave life just yet. I must be strong because I'm still here. Hanging on to every moment. Tears flood my pillow every day.

As I was alone, dying of COVID, I could faintly hear this song in the hospital coming from someone's radio. I have 12 sisters, 10 brothers-in-law, one set of twin sons, and a set of twin grandsons. My family was not allowed to visit me and I was too sick to care. Somehow this song got trapped in my brain, over and over until it just stopped me from the will to die. Music is the lifeline that Jesus reached out to me with. I am still here and I keep searching out this song when I start to feel down.

My wife was a carer at a retirement home, James Morrison's Aunt lived there, he was king enough to send an autographed CD sleeve to her, i lost her 10 years ago and it was her wish that this song was played at her funeral. I still cry every time i hear it.

I just heard this song today for the very first time on the radio and was immediately attracted by the beautiful melody and therefore had to look it up on TH-cam so that I could listen to it again and concentrate on the lyrics ....it actually is very emotional and has brought tears to my eyes at this time of my life when I’m trying to come to terms with my mother becoming ill and the fact that she won’t be around forever .....but it’s also reminding me that life goes on and that everybody is fighting something and you have to be in control of your own happiness in the here and now !!!

I lost my Son, he was 31 but passed just before 32. James's songs ring out. James apparantly was born very prematurely. I too had another Son born 29 weeks. Was hard and a long road.
