The client should’ve got an ‘07 Monte Carlo SS, would’ve been more accurate, rather than an older model.

I see what you’re saying about the decals. Other than that, it came out pretty good once you put it all together. Maybe the company did the decals a little pixelated because when it screams down the track it’ll look clear. 😂

Testors makes a product called Decal Set. I apply that to the body before I apply my decals and then apply a light coat after application. Also they have a clear coat made for waterslide decals. Not sure if those could have helped. Cheers!

The body isn't so much of an issue as most of the cars they tore up in the movie were 02 Monte Carlos. The issue with me personally is the inaccuracy of the number font and rear wonder logos

hi, I'm just about to build my first die cast nascar. After putting on the waterslide decals, do you spray on a clear coat? If so what kind? thanks
Yes, I typically use a high gloss clear coat that is the same brand of paint that you used to paint it with.
Ricky Bobby in the movie is played by Will Ferrell
when adding weight it depends on the track but in general as far back, and as low as possible while staying in front of the rear wheels to keep the car from becoming squirrely or pop a wheelie.

Looks real good, Always wanted a Ricky Bobby, Cal Naughton, Jean Girard and Ricky Bobby ME cars unfortunately they didn't make a lot of the cars for the movie in diecast and they are hard to get a hold of.

This is my first time watching your channel. I do have some questions. Did you put primer on before you painted the car?? Also, Did you use a can or airbrush? I would think if you use an airbrush that you would get a better finish with that. Nero. Do you think stickers would have worked better than decals. Just asking. Take care have a great 4th

If you hydrodip the body you will have a much smoother finish and use less paint.
I'm not sure what hydrodip is, I'll have to look into it.. thank you for the suggestion.
@@Nero62CustomDiecast put water in a bucket, spray paint on top, dip car, whisk away excess paint, remove car. Water has to be room temp. or it will be bubbly.

An Allen hex 0.05 driver, you can find them on Amazon for fairly cheap.

Thank you, yeah I put an extra heavy coat of clear on the car to try and blend in the thick decals. It worked in some areas but not everywhere.

Unfortinatly, at least for the foreseeable future I won't be doing anymore customs. If at some point I'm able to make customs again I will let you know.

Once this jug of Citrustrip runs out I'll probubly give the aircraft paint remover a shot.

Try using aircraft paint stripper it takes off clear coat with ease
Thats what I hear. I still have quite a bit of citrustrip left, once I'm out I might give the aircraft stripper a try.
Always use Glosscoat on the new decals . Unless you want a thick decal! Krylon is too thick and messes up the edges which is what happened here.Would have to use
a product that snuggles the decal down like Solvaset by Walthers or Microsol by Microscale which help the decal flatten down.

There is a fee involved, which depends on what kind of car you want and what you would like done to it. What that fee is can be negotiated.

@@Sgt-lott10 sweet... Testors gloss competition orange (#1628) thats about as close as your going to get to the origional color of the General Lee from a spray can. Unless you can find someone to mix you the paint it is GM Color code 70, flame red
