I actually love Stamp On It more than Step Back lmao. I feel like SM already grasps what kind of music that 'GOT the beat' will serve and imo, Stamp On It is a good second title track for them. It gives me "Oh this sounds like GOT the beat". Its also similar to SuperM where i could instantly know what kind of music they will serve
And just like you said, because of them as the one who are singing the song, they just made the song better than what it should be.

Did anyone else notice Dem Jointz producer tag was different in Stamp On It. Instead of "INCOMING" you can hear someone saying "Dem Jointz" in a low voice at the beginning of the song

Wendy dominated. Even if people didn't expect her in the group, she still is the most praised member during both comebacks for GOT and as her biggest fan I am so damn PROUD. Taeyeon was great too of course. And BoA also. LOVE those three triple threats.

The intro is taken from an Arabic song it says "coco coco fel fajriya" which literally means "cockadoodledoo at dawn" referring to the sound of the cockerel that wakes people up in the morning.
Love the line distribution in this group as they get even lines depending on their role in the group. Their counterpart SuperM line distribution is doubting as it seems that the group consist of the most popular member in each group. I think SM got serious with this comeback as it has an MV and mini album all. It's a unit as they called themselves "GOT THE BEAT" I assumed there's more Girls on top unit with different female members in SM as what they stated. I'm just happy HYO has good lines distributions. i agree, it really feels like the group has found their synergy with stamp on it and they're all accustomed to dancing with each other so they blend A LOT better. stamp on it is for sure my fav over step back now its so good
The ‘kokoko fe elfajria’ in the first part is actually a sample of an old arabic song called ‘el hilwa di’ by fairouz 👍🏻
Overall I was impressed by how everyone was styled for the entire concert. SM seemed to have invested in the styling budget or Was sponsored/collaborated with a few really nice brands. NGL it sometimes feels like SM goes all out for their BGs and Soloists normally but sometimes drops the ball with the GGs styling
hyoyeon is my ultimate so it always feels good when im surprised at how much center time/ lines she gets, my girl is talented, SM just rarely gives her the opportunity to shine. the girls SLAYYED

This new song is SO good, I was GAGGED. I love it more than Step Back, this song is giving me major boy group vibes but especially that chorus, there’s something about it that’s SO SM boy group and I love that. Also, you are me everytime I see Taeyeon I LOVE HAAAA I can’t stand ha anymoreeeee and with that hair, I know for a fact the lesbians are dead. Boa was sooo chill about it but was hitting every note and every move, she was giving Taemin when he has the ‘I’m too good for this I’m bored’ attitude while dancing lmao and I love it. I swear if they make a habit of releasing right at the beginning of January every year I am going to be so happy about that cause we’ll literally always have something to look forward to as soon as the New Year comes, plus it’s so iconic already, January is ‘GOT the beat’ month. Watching and listening to the song with you now is my second time after watching it live and it I am now obsessed. I had several thoughts when I first heard it 1) They listened to the feedback and took a different direction with the lyrics (even tho I was part of the Toni Braxton - He wasn't man enough for me/Brandy Monica - The boy is mine yk here for petty lyricssss step back!!) 2) Yoo Young-jin is on this song too at this point he needs to come out at the next SM town and perform a song or smth lmaoo 3) It wasn't as IMPACTFUL as step back was on my first listen BUT the vocals were through the roof I'm enjoying the song more now on the 2nd listen and I have GOOSEBUMPS like these women are all crazy talented, the confidence was just oozing through the screen the delivery was fantastic and I'm excited for the MV and B-sides if there are any

Fun fact abt the song, the first phrase that keeps repeating in the background is actually in Arabic. I'm Arabic and it took me sometime to realize it. It's a sample from a very well-known song by the famous Lebanese singer Fairous (you certainly would love to discover her music) . It says "كوكو كوكو في البدرية" and it's pronounced "koukou koukou fi elbadrya". I loved the sample too much and i guess sm project of launching in Saudia and investing in Arab culture has just started.

Stamp On It has some throw back vibes. There's an early 2000's flare between the vocals and the track itself with a modern production overlaying it. Probably the best way my tired mind can describe it lol.

I don't know if this makes sense, but when you said about them being a woman group rather than a girl group, it made me think of MAMADOL and their song WooAh Hip (which if you haven't seen yet, you should). Even though it was a one time event, they gave off that same woman group vibe.

You know what? I agree so much with you on one thing. Who is the performer impacts on the overall effect of the song. A lot of times with sm i think "i probably wouldn't like the song as much if some other artists did it". But it's not because of my personal bias, it's because of the vocals, the power. Like with sticker. I can't imagine loving sticker as much as i do if it was another group singing it. But nct 127 elevate the song SO MUCH. Like the artist has to be able to pull off a song, to sold it properly. This song and sticker with weaker vocals would probably be meh but with their lineups they eat because the artists are able to give what they are required to give to give justice to the song.

It will have to grow on me. Not a fan of the switch up, it was out of place. But I do somewhat feel it is superior to Step Back... overall. Step Back Bridge is a 100% better though. The bridge on Stamp felt short and rushed.
I still don't know what this group is, besides a female companion to SuperM, but they finally have a song that suits them in Stamp On It. I'm still not in love with Step Back.

I hope we get a making of because part of me thinks Taeyeon will say this dance was easier for her or they had more rehearsal time, because with Step Back she said it was difficult for her to catch on to the dance and I felt that in the concert video. She looks noticeably more comfortable this time.
