I think one of my fave things about this besides the harmonies and adlibs (esp last chorus) is the switchups they do on the chorus where everyone gets a chance to sing and the order changes each chorus. Irene on the second and last chorus???

Wendy is really the ACE ! I mean she was already good at Vocals and Rap ! She improved in her dancing so much since mid-2018 and she herself said that she's been trying to enjoy dancing !
Yea she's basically did the whole bg rapping for ice-cream cake, her tempo is on point already way better than a rookie should have. When irene or joy isn't around, she's the one who replaces all their rapping.
YAASS! finally someone who noticed Wendy and Joy's adlibs at the end. I love them so much, First Wendy's adlibs at Joy's part 10:13-10:19 the way her voice drops so low > < ugh and then Joy's adlibs at Wendy's part 10:20-10:24 whew they did what they had to.

Micah, I agree that this sounds like a song Exo could do, especially in the bridge. There's definitely stylistic overlap between Exo and Red Velvet, and it's not just because they are both with SME. Those two groups regularly exchange places with me as number 1 and number 2 favorite groups. I could listen to both discographies over and over. It will be a dark day when RV and Exo both retire.

Yesss. I feel the same with you about EXO and RV. Their music sometimes gives similar feeling too, especially their R&B vibes and harmonization. That's why both are my ultimate groups.
this one hits very differently but in a good way! that production on the chorus it's a little bit too busy so it takes a little from all the vocal moments that are happening but it's a solid bop, they don't mess up! And I love how they gave every member a very nice vocal part, they all were SINGING!!
All I needed was a full dance video or a dance practice cuz that choreo is killer, as well. I needed more of that

Ahhh yessss RECORDING BEHIND THE SCENES I can't wait to see it. I... loooove Wildside. But I do especially love the parts you mentioned, that almost feel like you're at a jazz club with the acoustic guitar - yes. I love how the wardrobe is very powerful and not just provocative - I always feel like Red Velvet approaches their sexy side in a way that feels... somehow like it is not for the male gaze exactly if that makes sense? I actually really love Yeri's looks in this video, but I usually feel like Wendy gets worst styling (Zimzalabim anyone? HELP) but Yeri often gets some odd looks as well. Yeri's beauty shots in this and in Feel My Rhythm are just soooo drop dead gorgeous. You are the first reactor I have seen who reacted at the moment of one of my favorite ad libs in the chorus - I love the one you sang back as well, but the one right before it! I feel like no one ever notices that one, but of course you would.
