@@NobleKorhedron It's a hot wire foam cutter. I use it in a lot of my builds. Check the link below in my video description and it will take you to Amazon where you can read about/purchase the item if you like. Its a very handy tool, although not necessary for every build.
My 4yo granddaughter just painted her first miniature, an Air Elemental she christened 'Tiger Tornado'. After basing it up with more flower tufts than you'd normally use on half a dozen figures, she turned to me and asked, "Can we put glitter on it?" 😂
@@TabletopWitchCRAFT I'm totally captivated and you deliver all your instructions in the best way ever . It's the most fantastic channel you deserve to do well!Thankyou so much x
Reminds me of the scatter terrain I recently did on my channel, but I really like the idea of using parchment paper / tinfoil and mixing it all into some mod podge, so you can forgo the need for a firm flat base. Good stuff brother!
This is amazing. I have everything needed to make this. Proxxon, Modge Podge (I've always called it Modge Podge), Styro, glitter and chain. Thats IT!!!!! I'm on my way to Starbucks for the last ingredient left out of the Video. I'm doing this tonight, sans gems!!! Thank you man!! I think TH-cam's algorithm is working for you now. Good luck man. Your content is Bangin. ' 4K is just the start of this.
I've used seed beads to make small gems. They come in all colors and scale pretty well. Also a few books in a treasure pile will have your mage about to kill himself to get to it. Drow erotica, anyone? Awesome videos.
This looks fantastic! Have you had any issues with the glitter, uh, "migrating" during play? I really love how these look but I'm quite wary about some flaking off.
Hi there, thanks! These little flakes are held on by 100% glue. They are solid! If anything breaks off, it will be a big chunk not small flakes (haven't had it happen tho :) )
Recently found your channel, and i'm loving all your videos. This technique is much better than the way I was going with loot piles, I'm wondering what do you do about all the excess glitter that will come off the finished piece? Or will that not be an issue this way?
Any excess glitter will be in a solid little clump if you drop it after it cures (and they hold up to dropping really well too). This method coats every piece of glitter in Mod Podge and is super solid!
Sounds like a fun project. This is a pretty quick project especially if you aren't going to be painting it. I would think it would be ok, the glitter holds up pretty well and is locked in place. I'd take a little extra time to tease any bubbles attached to the coins because of all the little air voids. Give it a shot.
Thank you Bruce. It's XPS Foam board. If you live in the states you can find it in most home improvement stores. I added a link in my Amazon Affiliate section of my video description if you wanted to check it out.
Great question. I would recommend that you use Mod Podge when sealing XPS foam. PVA glue is used to glue stuff together. Mod Podge has ingredients in it for: gluing, sealing, and finishing. It'll help protect your project better than PVA glue.

Happy to hear it helped.
Really like the idea of mixing the glitter into a paste! Never would have thought of that! Great work!
Yeah, it really works well. Just make sure VERY little gloss mod podge.

Right on! It's so enjoyable to sit down sometimes on a fun quick build that you can still add a bunch of detail to if you want.

No not glitter! it's the herpes of craft items! lol it turned out REALLY good though.
I want you to know that I'm laughing while typing this....
Great take on treasure piles and chests. What size glitter did you use for the coin look?
Hi Christopher, check out the video description. It'll take you to Amazon and the exact item I used.
Are those Lone Wolf books in the back?
Yes they are ! 1-6 and a few random ones.
Question. Will the chest withstand resin? I am making an underwater "find" and I want to have a treasure chest included.

Does the Modge-Podge dry out and hold the glitter together, or is it always fluid?
It hardens and holds the pile together just how you left it to cure. Nice and solid.
@@TabletopWitchCRAFT thank you. what's the drying time like?
Monster Hobbies Age of Sigmar Battlefield I’d give it 24 hours
@@TabletopWitchCRAFT Sounds good!
Can I use pva glue instead of mod podge?

@@tunaboatz2431 You're welcome :)
in place of washers i use nickels about the same weight and a lot cheaper
Nickels as in actual money? :) The washers I get at a local salvage shop. I bought a sandwich bag full of them for under $1.
@@TabletopWitchCRAFT cool a better deal. but nickels are far cheaper then buying new washers lol
It might be a better idea to pour out the amount of glitter you need first, then add the Mod Podge to the glitter.
Give it a try... might be.
How long does it take to dry on average?
It cures fully in about 24 hours.
@@TabletopWitchCRAFT Can the mix be stored for later use or once mixed must it be used?
