@@paigephillips92 True, you would want to test if you plan on mixing mediums. But, many shoe polishes are waxed based, so it's like a sealer, too. If you just want cheap and quick, though, shoe polish is the way to go. My dad taught me that trick years ago. He fixed a wooden Viking statue I had found at a garage sale. Whittled a new greatsword out of an old mixing stick, and then used shoe polish to color it. Looked fantastic!
I got some good ideas from your video and other videos doing similar scatter terrain. This video being the simplest and probably the easiest one of them all. Seeing you're using basic items and nothing expensive or over complicated. Like I don't have the time, space, or money to buy XPS foam, a hot tire table, clay carving tools, 28mm heroics realistic gold bits just to make a few loot chest or gold piles.
Love this. If you are in the South of Ontario I highly recommend stopping by the Game Chamber
Thanks for the kind words!
nail art gems work amazing as well! They are fairly cheap on amazon for a big package I use them on my dragon nightlights I make.
Short and perfectly sweet. Amazing little scatter items. Im loving these quick and dirt effect pieces. Keep it up!
Thanks very much!
Great store, Tim has given me countless advice and is always happy to do so. Its an hour's drive from my house, but always worth the drive
Couldn't agree more! Hope to see you there soon :)
@@GameChamber of course. Pretty happy with these videos Now I get extra lessons
Thanks--we love building and painting terrain. New ideas always appreciated.
Don't know why I didn't find this sooner. Absolutely love this and will so be making some of these for my table.
Awesome to see a local store start up a channel with crafting videos. Got a Sub, looking forward to seeing more.
Thanks for watching! More to come :)
Great Job guys!!!!
Definitely, a must build!
Most definitely!
This looks amazing, great work!
Thanks Tyler!
For painting the wood, instead of varnish, you can use shoe polish, or shoe wax. Super cheap, easy to apply, different colors and looks great.
great tip!
You might have adhesion issues depending on what you want to stick on top of it. Oil vs water based paints and adhesives.

Where did you find some of the plastic 'bits' in your bits box? Do you have any stores you recommend to find what looks like dnd garage kits?
That looks really good!
Thanks man!
How did you make the wood discs ?
Also these look amazing, you are talented, but please, how do you make the discs ?
This is really clever and looks great 👍
I know its creative commons music but this is the 3rd crafting channel I've heard use this electro swing beat
Yeah, it's from Epidemic Sound, it's a good track!
What kind of 5 minute epoxy resin do you use?
Yes same here
Absolutely breathtaking gorbeautiful 🎉❤🎉
So wish our DND didn't have to be online because I would love to have little stuff like this around
Auto correct fail
Make them ready for when we can play IRL again!
Make them ready for when we can play IRL again!
Why the bases. Couldn’t you make them without? The epoxy/glue should be strong enough and make them look less boardgamy. No?
❤❤❤
