Thank you so much. Your smoosher is a fabulous tool that costs NOTHING.
Thank you! x
I’ve just realised that I have been buying night sky papers for my Christmas cards and now I can make my own; not only more cheaply but also to use up my white card off-cuts tfs again
Great idea! Thanks for watching. x
What a clever idea! Thanks.
You are so welcome!
Brilliant idea! Can't wait to try this. Thank you for turning your idea into a card at the end too. Love it!
Thanks so much!
I have been having so much fun making and using these. I created a square one by just folding the paper towel up into a square shape and then wrapping with plastic. I used duct tape to close the top handle. I also used bubble wrap to cover a round bunched up paper towel. That created some cool results!!! I am recycling the plastic bags I get from Walmart to make these. Thanks for a great idea!
Fantiastic ideas! I will have to try the bubblewrap one. x
Hello, I love your idea of the smoosher! What a brilliant way to have more control over the smooshing process. TYFS 🤗
You are so welcome!
I just absolutely love this card/technique! I am wondering if you could list the products you used. For instance, is your mixed media the same as hodgepodge? I am in the US. I don't think we have the same products as the UK.
Hi! Glad you like the technique. I’m not familiar with hodgepodge. what is it? x
Wonderful idea,I will make one.
Please do!
How about subbing a cut of a thick sponge.? Reusable when the bag falls apart and very soft, might work as well. No paper towels to throw away.
Thanks for sharing your great smoosher!

Good idea! Thanks for watching. x
Hi Natalie, I just found your channel today when this video popped up. I think this is a brilliant idea. The ink or paint is a lot more controllable using this handy wee homemade tool. I always thought that using a piece of acetate to smoosh leaves a harsher, straight inky puddle, which I thought, looks a bit less organic than the controlled but random smooshed results you get with this softer tool. I've subscribed to your TH-cam channel now too, and wanted to say your cards are lovely.
Thanks so much for the encouragement. Yes, that line you get when using acetate never looked right to me. Hence the smoosher was born. Thanks for watching! x
It's so simple and yet so sophisticated! Thank you!
Thanks, Cathy! x
yay, I just made a smoocher 👍
Fab! Have fun. X
I’ve been searching how to do a better ink smooching and so glad I found you! Great idea and I love your card designs so I’ve just subscribed.
That’s wonderful! Thanks for the encouragement. x
I've seen you use this in other videos and I loved it. And I wondered what it was and how to make one. Thank you so much for showing us.
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching. x
Beautiful card! Enjoyed your smooshed technique!
Thank you! x
Brilliant idea and I love your card, greetings
Thanks so much! x
Excellent! Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love this idea! Thank you for sharing how you made your ‘smoosher’! I will be making one also. I’ll have to get help in taping it closed so I’ll make a couple sizes. Many thanks from a disabled crafter. ❤❤
You are very welcome! Thanks for the encouragement. x
Thank you for this video, I will definitely be making some.
Brilliant! Hope you enjoy. :)
I will be making some of these!! So very creative!!! Thanks so much for sharing!!
That's great. Have fun! x
Hi thanks for sharing your smoother design. Thanks from 2 new crafty friends. Your card is very pretty. Happy Crafting x
Thank you! Have fun with your smoosher. x
Simply brilliant!! Thank you for sharing. I just added you to my subscription list ❤
Awesome! Thank you! Welcome aboard! x
Great tip! Thanks!
No problem! Thanks for watching. x
Awesome!
Thank you! Cheers!
Fantastic idea, thank you ❤
You’re welcome! 😊
So fun!
Thanks!
Love this idea! And love the effect!
Thanks so much! 😊
I love this
Thank you! x
Love it!!
Thanks! x
Great informative video. Keep it up ❤
Thank you! Will do!
Wow, what a waste of my time.
Thanks for chiming in. Glad you had a chance to watch the video.
Brilliant, get your patent in. I love crafting, but am very disillusioned with the crafting industry. guaranteed someone from a company will see this, make something similar and mass market it for 20 quid a pop.
It's so easy to make, I think they'd have a job selling it! Thanks for watching. x
I buy stamps & die cuts from temu. They have placed a warehouse abt 60 miles away so shipping time is fast. The big cardmaking mfgrs here in the states receive their stock from China mfgrs. Scrapbook supplies have raised their prices dramatically. China makes, vendors buy. China makes, I buy. Saving $ in this economy! BTW, Congress receives huge raises & does insider trading based upon Congress' business and spends our tax $ to international countries, not USA citizens. Grrr. Inflation continues.
Admittedly, I didn't really understand the smoosher and why you would use this kind of tool instead of just smooshing your paper down onto the watered down ink on your glass mat. So I made a smoosher following your tutorial and now I TOTALLY get it! And - now I have 4 different size smooshers in my crafty toolbox! 😂 Thank you for consistently using the smoosher and making me more and more curious about it! It's a great tool indeed!
Glad you've found it helpful! Have fun. x
i have always hated the smooshing, but fir the first time in 10 years, I'M IN, but only using your schmooshers, lol, Thx!!!! ❤
Wonderful!
Brilliant idea! I can’t cope with the randomness of ordinary smooshing so this makes it much more controllable. Thank you! ❤
You’re very welcome. Thanks for watching. X
Vibrant, too!
You have shown such a smart and simple tool. I agree that while I like the random look, I like the control this offers. Thank you for sharing.
I asked you in another of your video regarding your smoosher. Now I know how to make it. Thank you.xx
You’re welcome 😊
Thanks for sharing, brilliant idea. You are a genius.
Thank you! Cheers!
How on earth did you ever think of this? I will definitely be making one after seeing your beautiful creations.
That's great! I just got fed up with making a smooshy mess, so I thought 'how can I do this so I get less mess and more control?' and hence the smoosher was born! :)
What a FABULOUS idea!!! I am going to go RIGHT NOW and make one or six (😂) for myself. Natalie, I am LOVING your channel!!! ❤❤❤
Yay! Thank you!
I'm a first time viewer and new subscriber. I'm so happy I found you. Your ideas and videos are informative and inspiring. I'm going to make several of your "smooshers", like you I like "controlled randomness" on my cards.
Welcome!! Thanks for the encouragement. Have fun with your smoosher! x
Super fun. Can't wait to make one. TSMFS ❤xx
Have fun!
My daughter and I made 2 sizes of smooshers and had a grand time creating inky backgrounds! Thank you for this simple yet effective tool!
You are so welcome!
This is absolutely brilliant. Thank you.
You're very welcome!
I love this effect. Thanks for sharing. The card is beautiful, I tend to "over colour" my cards, so your smoosher will definitely help me control my colours better. Can't wait to try it 🤗
Thanks so much!
A lovely tutorial, I’ve come over from Christina Griffiths x
Welcome! Thanks for watching. x
I just found your channel, and I have to say I'm totally impressed. I've seen this technique before but never knew exactly how to do it, but you just are amazing. beautiful cards!
Awesome, thank you!
Hi Natalie, would you mind letting me know roughly what the diameter the circle is after you have cut your sandwich bag please xx
About 10 inches I think. x
❤TFS & I am off to make a bunch of different sized "Smooshers"! Love the effect! Thanks again! Hugs my crafty and creative Friend XOXOXO 💕
Have fun!
So quick and simple, but oh so beautiful! Must make my own 'smoosher'. Thanks Natalie! 👍💖
My pleasure! x
Brilliant!!! Thanks so much! 💜💜💜
You are so welcome!
I’ve looked for an emoji that is a standing ovation, shame none exist but take this as one 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏😊new subscriber after watching your video’s, love your style of crafting, thank you take care.
Wow, thank you! So glad you're enjoying the videos. Welcome! x
Hi, have literally stu upon your channel, by very accident and have literally spent all day watching your videos!! I have created cards for years, but thought i would like to give CAS instead of really detailed and your cards, with the various different mixed media absolutely sings to me they are all stunning, have just watched this one and had a thought, what about trying your smoosher invention, but using popped and squished flat bubble wrap instead of the sandwich bag?x
Hi! Thanks for the encouragement. It means a lot. Someone else suggested making a smoosher out of bubble wrap and they had some good results. Give it a go! x
Good idea. You might find it easier to use a twist tie instead of tape when tying it all together.
That's a good idea! Thanks. x
Thanks, I just asked on another video where you'd got your smoosher 😊
Glad you found the video! Have fun with your smoosher! x
I love ink blending but hate smooshing; I never seem to get a good result. This looks like a wonderful solution!
Thanks! I’m sure you’ll get great results with the smoosher. x
I wanted to come back after making smoochers..one large and one small…I absolutely love them! Thanks so much for the fantastic idea…
You are so welcome!
Love the smoosher! Going ti make mine right now 😂
Great! Have fun. x
I like your way of smoothing the best!😍
I like that smoosher- like they did the that tool for the misty you. Better get a copyright these will sell
Lol! Thanks. I think it's such an easy thing to make that no one needs to pay for it! :)
Love your smooshing tool
Thank you so much! ❤️
Great idea. I'll one-up you though! 😅 I just wad up a large piece of kitchen cling film (saran wrap), wet it with the ink and smoosh!
Great idea! :)
Do you reuse your cling film or get a fresh piece per smoosh?
What a great I'm not very good with ink blending so I can't wait to try this thanks Natalie x
Thank you very much!
Hi, I’m new to your channel and am loving your tutorials, this smooshing tool is such a wonderful and easy idea, thank you so much for all your inspiration 😊
Thanks so much! 😊
Very good idea! I am going to make some today
Have fun!
Can you tell us where you got that awesome mat with all the paper sizes marked on it? Is it just for measuring or is it self healing?
That smoother is a great yet simple idea. Would it work with alcohol ink?
The mat is a glass one from Crafters Companion: amzn.eu/d/5Ag4yyS
I've not tried the smoosher with alcohol inks, but I think it would work. The inks might stain the plastic, but that shouldn't be a problem. Give it a go and let me know! :)
@@nbcascards thanks
Great idea 🎉
Thank you! 😊
Great demo tfs
Thanks for watching!
Great idea! I will try it with a bread bag and use the twist tie that comes with it instead of tape.
Sounds great!
Love this!
Thanks!
put a rubber band around !

Thanks for sharing this awesome tip! Your simple card is gorgeous.xx
Yay! Thank you!
Hi Natalie, have you got a video of how to make your mini smoosher with the blending tool, I’d like to know if you added paper towel or just cover the sponge with plastic xx
I just cover the domed foam sponge. No paper added.
Thanks so much, was hoping you would show us how to make your smoosher !
You're very welcome! Have fun with yours. X
I just made one and it is awesome thanks. Annamieke from NZ
Thanks!
Brilliant
Thank you! x
I love how this looks, I can't wait to try it. maybe a rubber band on the handle too if the tape fights us too much?
That's a great idea! Thanks for watching. x
