Nothing better on a Sunday morning than sitting back with a cup of coffee and watching an MV Freedom video
Omg my favorite crew is back .Mv Freedom. I was having Mv Freedom withdraws .hope all is well Shawn and Elizabeth:)
So glad to see the Freedom crew back! Makes Sunday mornings much better.
So fun to wake up again and watch your adventures! Thanks for coming back online and sharing your journeys!
Our pleasure!
Cinnamon buns used to be made by Bill (??) and his kids inside Squirrel cove in the '90s. He stayed in a shack on the beach. His kids came around in a skiff and asked nightly if you wanted bread or buns in the morning. They used to deliver them to the boat. Man were they good!! Back then, marine gas was around 60 - 70 cents a litre.
It's great to see real boaters again :)
I remember cruising up there in the 70's on my parents 26 Tollycraft. Beautiful place. Cheers!
Shaun’s salad eating technique is spot on. Lol. I have a heck of a time messing up a beautiful salad. Great episode Freedom.
I hope the dogs enjoy the water for a swim with you both, it’s a great form of exercise and without really knowing it you are not only exercising but enjoying it too. Your videos are a great tonic and brighten up the days that really do challenge you.
Fantastic show, you have been missed great to see you back on TH-cam! From the MV Freedom fan club on Yao Yai Island, off the coast of Phuket. Thailand.😎🍺🍻
So good to see you guys and the fur babies…….what a beautiful area to explore…..as always thanks for taking us along…..and that salad….bon appetite!
You are living my dream retirement life…I grew up on the BC coast and it’s truly a piece of heaven.
This was a perfect sailors summer. Blue sky and wind for weeks on end
Indeed it was!
Great video. wish i had a boat like yours!
Missed seeing you guys! Your video’s put my wife, our fur baby and I back to our great times on the water. Thank you!
Editing and music were on point for this video. Thank you for the content.
Wow, what a wonderful corner of the globe you found!! I know life isn't perfect but been watching your vids for years, and life does seem perfect. Thank you for sharing!! When I grow up I'll learn to live the right way too!!
Glad to see you back doing what you both love. This video was fantastic.
Wow! Love the boat, love the area, love the dogs.
Beautiful place...love Vancouver!
We were in Desolation Sound the latter half of July in our 290 Sea Ray. We put in at Olympia and ran up to Desolation. It was great! Hopefully, the next time up will be in a bigger boat and we'll stay longer. Great video!
Nice post. Brings back a lot of memories. Spent nearly 10 weeks at Refuge Cove back in 78.
I have been to the San Juan Islands twice from the southeast US. Once via plane and rental car, from Vancouver and once via a cross country Road Trip around 2017. Took a ferry to the Vancouver Island area and drove around some quaint little villages and the Desolation Sound bridge. Beautiful area! Always wanted to trailer my 28' cruiser to the northwest but that would be quite the undertaking solo with limited cruising range. Enjoy your vantage point and it brings back memories. Cheers! ⚓️🛥🛟
Beautiful anchorage thank you
Excellent video 🎉 I really enjoyed spending time exploring Desolation Sound in the past . Happy you are are there . Enjoy
Beautiful Vid, welcome back!!!
Great video guys..........I so much enjoy watching your boating life adventures and to be able to cruise the coastal waters of British Columbia is a dream. Please keep producing your boating life videos.
From Wisconsin,
This Landlubber is glad to see you again.
Great video,
Enjoyed the GoPro of the prop, and learning about warm swimming on the coast of BC.
That was an awesome cruise with lots of beautiful scenery. The Chicken Salad looked scrumptious!
So glad to see you back on YT
Love your videos. I’m a dreamer, but I’m hoping one day to make it a reality, and be able to on my own Nordhavn as well.
That scenery is awesome 👏👏
I missed you guys! Thanks for the great video.
You always give awesome arial shots. Now underwater ! Look
At you !!! 👍🏾👍🏾 good to be able to finally spend some virtual time with you guys again !
Thanks, lots more to come!
Your videos just keep getting better! Also, I love how your swimsuit matches the hat you wore last year!
I wrote last video about Malaspina and it's true to form. I'm glad you could tuck away, there. Cheers!!
Absolutely wonderful video. Thank you
Great video and nice editing😊
Like yourself, we are so lucky to live in Puget Sound and have such easy access to all of these beautiful cruising spots from Seattle all the way to SE Alaska.
Liked the video. The ramp wasn't that scary...looked fine lol. Thanks for sharing.
Thanx for sharing the great video - so glad you all are back as you seem so relaxed while navigating those beautiful waters - the angle of the ramp was unbelievable being low tide and surprised water temp was that warm - Thanx again for gracious invite every week into your life and journeys
Our pleasure!
Was in Desolation Sound 4 weeks ago with our 54' Trawler. I was very glad for the warm water as I had to cut away a dinghy tow rope from the propeller!! Quick thinking on the anchor by the wife kept us from grounding or hitting nearby boats. The Laughing Oyster Restaraunt in Okeover Arm has the best 7 Wild Mushroom Soup!!
Nice to see you again!
I missed you so much!
I love your videos and wish good health and much love to you!
Thanks for the great video!
I love your updates... This one was especially cool because my family has a cabin in Secret Cove. You almost showed it! LOL
Anyway, Desolation Sound is amazing and I really miss it. Hope you enjoyed the whole voyage!
That area looks so beautiful,Vancouver must have been off his rocker!
He must’ve had too much moonshine while cruising through!
Beautiful scenery
Beautiful waters.
I now have my Sunday Morning back. I am now beginning to wander if I should take a trip up that way. Thanks for the beautiful views awesome beauty for sure.

Awesome episode, you guys!
you two know how to produce/edit a video. Great work!
Wow beautiful locations - thanks for sharing! 🥰
Great vid! I sure miss them puppies! That ramp was imposing.
Fantastic cinematography and editing!!
Thank you!
Great video. It looks beautiful up in Desolation Sound, and your chicken/salad looked fantastic.
Great editing job! Good to see you spending some quality time up in Canada after that Covid nightmare.
Yes indeed, we’re very happy to be back and hoping to never deal with that again!
Love that yall are back!! I watch a few other channels as well, However I JUST REALLY ENJOY YALL'S!!! Also when ever you lose a fure Baby it is alway😢a sad time. I know we have lost a few and I swear it's just as bad as losing a human. Keep it coming yall!
Agreed, losing our fur babies is more painful in a lot of ways.
That ramp! We had the same experience! 😅 we didn’t want to wait for high tide! Got a good leg workout going up and down. Hope you enjoyed BC!
Great video…. If i ever see MV Freedom moored i might have to crash the dinner time….lol
Looking forward to the rest of your BC adventure.!!
Wonderful update! Indeed, a bit bittersweet memory of an amazing place, but also, sad memories of Sandy, too!
I am glad you got a chance to revisit! Tell your boytoy Shaun I am hopeful his elbow will return to awesomeness in time to put up the upcoming LED's and Giant Dino in only a few weeks!
Haha he got it drained and it’s back to normal…for now 🤞
well, @@mvfreedom , normal for him!
Love your music selection 😊. On your next trip, come to Steveston, BC, you would live it.
Great video! At 19:05, our boat Midnight Sun made a cameo appearance! We were tied up at Refuge Cove, but didn’t see you guys. 😁
I like the way you edit your videos - great job. Of corse it’s my favourite subject you have to deal with.
Another great video ty
Hope you had a great visit. Shout out from the Sunshine Coast BC Canada page on the big F social network dare not mentioned on youtube. Will share with our 45,000 followers. Thanks!!
Awesome, thank you!
Awesome trip !
Great content!
It seems like you've really taken your videography up a notch. I'm impressed!
Thank you, we’re always trying to get a little better!
Thanks 🙏
Great video!
Another wonderful video. Very enjoyable to watch. Thanks for sharing.
Very nice! Our cruising ground there and further up! You passed our summer house (though a distance away) when you were running up Malaspina Strait.
Your drone video work is excellent. Wish I'd had one of those when I cruised in that area... :-)
Awesome!!!!
Beautiful video, many thanks, Adam/Tofino
Our pleasure as always!
First, great content and I enjoy your rotation of travel/explore and boat related projects… now about the elbow, I had a matching elbow which happened shortly after I had a slip/fall and landed with said elbow hitting hard on foredeck. It is the bursa, which gets inflammed (olecranon/bursitis) and can get floppy. routine Ice, anti inflammatory, voltaren, and eventually a trip to Ortho Dr to get mine aspirated with cortizone. Just monitor and manage it. No worries! Fair winds.
Welcome back! It’s been a bit🤙
Your editing skills are on point. Cheers from Calgary, Canada.
Thanks much!
So good to see all is well, God bless, Old and sometime worry... Alls well...
wonderful video!!
Awesome channel!
Very nice area. Thanks for sharing. Nice visor. FYI my wife comments on it every time. She knows what it is and I balked on the price. Take care and safe travels!!
Awesome video.
For the way down the squirrel cove ladder at low tide, you should take a heavy duty bin bag, or one of those bags you get sand in, and slide down the smooth half... free rollercoaster! 😃
Bald eagle at 10:03, middle left side of frame.
Lovely boat!
Good eye!
Amazing scenery, fantastic salad and the diesel is 20% cheaper vs. the UK. What else can you want from life 😜
It is green!
Nice!!!
You guys are awesome....so cute together.....you live a dream.....it's a beautiful thing!.....I wanna join you on your spiritual journey....watching your channel makes me dream.....good job 😊
Great to hear, dreams are good!
Another stop to consider is Squamish ! Tie up there and Whistler is very close by
That salad looked delicious, made me hungry 😎
Great salad!
Directly across from Campbell river. Also close to Bliss cannery. But I'd it's gone now.
As always loved your most recent video. For me living vicariously, while we do boat it’s an inland sea though not as big as the Great Lakes. A few questions.
1. We just got a small breed dog after having Labs like Sully. Do the pups always wear a rash guard under there life jackets? I need to start shopping.
2. 70° water is a perfect temp. Our lake tops out around that.
3. Happy the bump & thump ended well.
4. I’m impressed with Shawn’s night time vision view. I recall it’s installation.
5. Chick Cesar is one of our go to’s. Cesar and Rotisserie chicken from Costco. Yum.
“If you’re lucky enough to be by the sea, you’re lucky enough” 👋
The doggos wear rash guards mostly cuz we think they’re cute but they do help to prevent chafing while wearing life jackets. We have a link to our Amazon store in the video descriptions where you can find all of our favorite boat dog stuff among other things 😉

We never made it to Desolation Sound. Always wanted to sail there. Thanks for letting us tag along on your beautiful boat. Your dogs are darling! Ouch...$8.30 per gallon of diesel?
We were in Desolation Sound mid-August of this year on a Jefferson53boat. We anchored in refuge Cove where the nightmare started that night because of a 12:30 AM Wind. I tried to motor a big boat when it’s pitch dark. It’s like driving a car with your eyes closed you could not feel the wind. in the helm, the tender which was tied to the swim step got crushed, but the big boat was not hurt old timers say never anchor in refuge COVE also 125 foot yacht during a windstorm in Buckingham Bay, which is in secret Cove lost their anchor, lost their tender and their ski dues, but it was still a wonderful trip but be prepared to motor at night when you least expect it. Pat.
Loving watching the cruising you do from all the way over on the west coast of Australia. Don’t know how to ask you guys questions, but maybe you’ll see this - is your nav system TZ Professional?
