    That's the bad way... A non - damage way is to drill a small 3-4mm hole on the side of that round profile on the module cover, because that's where the plastic gear lives. Through the hole you can access the gear teeth and wind the gear into unlocked position. That will release the module bolt and it can be pressed into the module for safe and easy removal. The ESL module then can be opened and have the bad little cheap motor inside replaced....

    I have the same question as a few before but, did you remove from the bottom? I don’t seem to have enough room to get it out

    How did you get column out I don't seem to have enough room am I suppose to take something off the column to make more room to pull it out of bottom?

      For anyone that has this problem I just took one out. Was fiddly but there is enough room. Make sure the column set to its shortest point. Unbolt it and pull it towards you slightly. Then tilt the bottom of the column towards the accelerator pedal, push it down and twist to the side and it should slide out.

    Just make a little cut on that side where the pulley works

  • @ummerfarooq1725
    @ummerfarooq1725 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    You don’t need to cut it out

    Do you have to cut bolt if steering wheel is unlocked?

    • @imgroup7419
      @imgroup7419  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Michael - The answer is no.
      You do not need to cut the bolt if the ESL is unlocked. Once the nut is removed, the bolt will push into the ESL, remove ESL while bolt is pushed in .

      @@imgroup7419 So I don't need to remove steering wheel or column to remove esl, correct?

    • @imgroup7419
      @imgroup7419  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Michael - No, if the ESL is in the unlocked position, you do not need to remove the steering wheel or column to remove the ESL.
