I listened to all 3 Saki stories and am equally amused by the author and the reader's talent. I had never heard of Saki. Thank you for turning me on to him.
The sorbet was to clean the hyena's palate, lol. Saki can be dark humor; although, I absolutely love Sredni Vashtar. One of my all time favorite stories; it's poetic justice for every mean grade school teacher I ever had, lol. ( Where were polecat ferrets in the 70s when I needed one? I would have gotten it all of the nutmeg in my mother's voluminous spice pantry 🤭
Excellent short story & superb narration.🥂 I love your narrative old world voice for the times of the late 1890's, that adds such great realism that makes every word & story come to life, of the world's greatest detective the best.👏 Very captivating ty so kindly! ~Jennifer~ 💜💃
….When you reached the part where Constance complains of the gypsy child’s cries “still ringing in my ears” - only to look back at Esmé, and see that the child is IN the hyena’s mouth, I almost choked from laughing ….😂
Reminds me rather of Roald Dahl, a big "Ouch" factor here! You’ve been a big stand-by during my cataract ops, along with Jeeves & Wooster and the Lord Peter Wimsey stories And for a good laugh, "I’m sorry I haven’t a clue" and "Round the Horne 😀 Hope all is now sweetness and light chez Greg 🌈🌈
I remember when you weren’t famous and we would listen to Sade. And you would tell me to use lots of soap so I would not get Corona.I will always love you! ❤️ 💕 🥰
Oh my goodness! 7:52 a.m. here in gorgeous coastal Connecticut, just sipping my last cup of coffee before having to leave and preparing my takeaway avocado toast on pumpernickel. First up on my notifications, a new story to have Greg read to me throughout? Could the sunshine get any brighter?! ☀️🥳💜
Loving these new additions! Saki is almost on “parable/folk/myth” scale with these last two tales. Deliberately a bit of “don’t put pearls before swine” type cultural morality scale. VERY interested in these more modernity moral fables… Thank you.
Not seeing the humor in a child being torn apart by a wild animal while he screams in pain and terror. I guess what is considered funny changes over time.
Fan-tasting…(spell check pun)…a second course around!🎉 Post Script: You are still my very favorite storytellers, as you were my first found that I ABSOLUTELY added to my bedtime evening schedule! As I can only give kudos of written & 🎉❤🎉kind, I hope these DO help to actualize more audience members who have heavier pockets by which to generously share where so deserved. 🎬🎭🎨🎤🎧🎟
The perfect voice for these wonderful tales of Saki. Thank you.
Thank you for listening!

I love Saki! Thank you Greg, always superb.
Thanks Divine!
Wait, THIS was the light sorbet?! This was harder to digest than the Three Gables!
Tastes differ!

Good lord! Well that was spell binding. Poor gypsy child 😱

You found that…funny? A child being torn apart by a wild animal is hilarious to you?
Omg that was hilarious. Thanks Greg

Sparkling writing indeed! And your interpretation of it was excellent, as usual.

I remember when you weren’t famous and we would listen to Sade. And you would tell me to use lots of soap so I would not get Corona.I will always love you! ❤️ 💕 🥰
Did I say that? Well, don't let those hands get rough with too much soap! Moisturise! Moisturise! Moisturise! As Dr Watson probably once said!
Can we please have some more Saki? (As the Japanese businessman said to the waiter.)
😂sake but get the joke❤
Happy to see your video has ads now. Love ur narrations
Me too! Thanks Dollmonn!
Loved Esme. Such a dark humourous story. 🇦🇺♥️☺️

You had to be there😀
@@sherlock_holmes_magpie_audio glad I wasn't!
It is called black humor. I love it!
I wonder if anyone ever half-jokingly referred to him as Sicki. He does have a rather morbid sense of humor sometimes.
Indeed!
🥳🥳🥳🥳
Cheers Sunstone.
Horrifying that this is funny to some.
That was not a funny story!
Which part of that appalling tale was supposed to be funny, never mind very funny?
Saki may not be for you!
Yeah not a fan of this one 🤷♀️ less into the dark humor I guess
