    As content creators, we want to create faster and easier, but more importantly, to create better to help our audience.
    And here we have a challenge: to use a script and write down what we say, or to speak freely?
    I tried both methods for a long time, and after years of content creation, I want to share with you what I discovered about this.

    I think freestyling and scripting is almost the same in time and preparation. I have been experimenting what style will work for my channel and scripting is the best for me. And yes vibe and connection is really an issue but i think can be improved through practice.
    Great video sir!

      I think the same. The only way to improve the connection is by practicing more and more. Thank you for sharing your experience with us! 🤗🙋🏻‍♂️

    Thanks, Gabriel! I got so much value from your videos!
    Appreciate if you could recommend me a camera and a lens for talking head videos? i currently use Sony ZVE10 + Sigma 16mm lense (based on your recommendation) but i don't mind to upgrade to advance level and use my current Sony ZVE10 as a second camera. would it be Sony A7Siii?
    Thanks in advance!

      Hello, my friend! Glad you like my video.
      a7sIII is the camera that I use for client work and big projects.
      Honestly, for talking head videos is unbeatable. But you need to invest in Full Frame lenses and the camera is also expensive.
      But, yes, if you want the best of the best, a7sIII is crazy good.
      Thank you for your support 🙋🏻‍♂️

      @@rad.gilmanov Yeah, I have that lens and it's crazy good :D
      With this camera and this lens, you will have a top talking head setup for years.
      Just don't ignore the lights. With any camera, you still need good lights.
      If you plan to buy it from Amazon, and if you want and like, you can click first on my affiliate link: amzn.to/3YeYQWj :D

    Great advice at the end there, I think I might even do two takes for every line of my scripts. One reading from the script, and one improvisational right after. It really helps my brain distill the message in the moment to better convey it to the viewer. I'm always trying to think, how can I simplify what I'm saying without removing so much context that now it's too short and not explained well enough- it's a constant struggle but I think combining the two methods of script-reading and free speaking will be a positive development for my process.

      Glad you like it, my friend. I think the same as you. It's important to simplify the speech but still keep the necessary Info. It's an art to make a great script but I work every day to improve it and I like to share 😁 Thank you for your comment :)

    I've found that freestyle is faster to film, but I pay for it 10 fold in the editing. I even find that some parts I have to re-film and that's a huge pain. So overall scripting is faster for me, it also helps me get my B roll ready before editing. I learned through trial and error that I'm a scripter through and through although I do wish I was better at freestyling

      True! The same for me 😁 But We are lucky to have all these options and with trial and error we can definitely find the best option. Thank you for your comment 🙋🏻‍♂️

    Excellent video, could I suggest maybe a hybrid of both. Definitely free speech can be challenging and does take practice to build confidence. A flexible script is, perhaps, the most effective to keep you focused, confident and engaging.... only my opinion...😂👍👍👍

      Yeah! True! Great advice! Thank you so much, my friend.
      It's a little bit harder for a nonnative English speaker but it's manageable :)

      @GabrielVIP You are absolutely correct, a point I often overlook is precisely what you say, the challenge for non-native English speakers, content creators. As I say to my students, keep it simple and un-complicated, that way everyone understands... Many Thanks for sharing Gabriel, you're an exemplar for content creators...👍

    So what works for you is to make a whole script of the video but really while recording what you have is a series of general points to follow the thread of the story but between points you improvise?

    • @GabrielVIP
      @GabrielVIP  27 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hey. Something like that. Sometimes I improvise, I read some parts with specifications, or I read and speak freely about what I just read.
      The main point is to look and have a great vibe that sounds natural. Thank you!

  • @ProfMarc
    @ProfMarc 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I should add, using a mind map is also a good technique...

    • @GabrielVIP
      @GabrielVIP  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Look, mindmaps are crazy good. I don't have a lot of experience with mind maps but I use this method from time to time.
      Most of the time I tend to overcomplicate mind maps but it's an art to learn how to do them :)
      Thank you!

    For me it depends on what the video I was shooting, Most of the time I wrote the script and then, Memory. That’s it. Sometimes it accurate and sometimes inaccurate. (This mostly happens to me on my review videos)

    • @GabrielVIP
      @GabrielVIP  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's true! Some videos don't require a script and for some of them, a script will help a lot. For reviews, yes, when we have specifications is better to use a script.
