80% of their mule steels end up being staple exotics in the industry and you will see them in sprint runs within the next few yeara

Dude you hit the nail on the head. Beautiful knives. When i started looking at the cost of the wooden scales for these things i was outraged by the price but after further research i realized how much work went into making the grips. Truly a work of art amd craftsmanship. I am a young apprentice electrician and i love knives. I am also a beginner woodworker. Looking forward to buying some blanks and making some wood scales to build complete knives for the journeyman i work with. Your craftsmanship is a great example. One i hope to follow.

They only sell two per person. I just got two in 15V fastest sell out to date. Obviously I’m gonna sell one that way I get a free blade. It’s a free country right? Fuck all the trolls they should have been around for the drop.

Just scored a z-wear mule for $50 on release day. The site slowed down to a crawl and they were gone in roughly 15 minutes but luckily my tenacity paid off. I really, REALLY wanted this as a compliment to my z-wear Shaman. It’s everything the Shaman isn’t…fixed blade, somewhat thin, cheap (well…comparatively…) and built for testing and general abuse. I’m gonna get some matching canvas micarta for it when I’m able to track some down…even if I have to make em myself.
EDIT: Renaissance wax is great stuff. I work on guitars for a living and use it to protect expensive wood from super glue and drop fills. Doesn’t smell that great at first but you kind of get used to it and start to associate that smell with “the great job you’re about to do on this, come hell or high water…”

“Price police” are the worst. It’s like stfu and keep moving. Waste of time…anyway, I know this is old, but great video and those olive wood scales are so nice…

Does the Kydex sheath lock on the blank knife snugly enough? I’m hoping to try a Paracord wrap and don’t want to get a leather sheath

I’m guessing people are complaining about buying the limited supply that was for testing and Ailey moving the blanks on eBay like a scalper. I really like the olive wood and the red un stained wood handles.

Uses for mules other than test beds? Source scales other than spyderco, halperin(TRM).

In the past the mule team would be produced and they would be around for a few months. It was ended because interest dropped off. The PD1, Carpenters version of cruwear, mule was in stock for 2 years until it sold out last year. Because of the recent demand the amount produced will be increased. Although the next few mules released will at the lower numbers produced. Nice that they even have this program

Good looking blades and scale work there. Wish I could score a mule team blade to check out for a decent price.

Hey Jeremy. I received the first prototype you sold of one of your thicker 01 tool steel blades. Haven’t been home from trucking to handle it yet but my roommate confirmed that it arrived. Cool to see what you’re doing. I’m a fan.

You should hold onto those for 10-15 years and then see what their value is. I bet they become highly collectible.

Hello very informative video. I just bought my 1st Mule knife on ebay. Would it be possible for you to tell me where you bought the carbon scales? I would like to install that type on my acquired knive. Thank you very much for your time and have a good weekend.

In my experience WD40 is a great cleaner, but a very poor rust preventor. YMMV. I start with 3 in 1 oil for storage.
