    I only did 2 practice books for integrated reasoning. And got 720. It really depends on what one’s strength or weakness is. For me math was like middle school level difficulty but reasoning was tricky so I used LSAT questions to prep which made GMAT questions appear so much easier.

      Good point, I think it has to do with long term and short term memory thing? Also for me, it's hard to study more than 6 or 7 hours a day. Even under 6-7 hours I still have problem recalling what I study. But I guess every person is different or it could be the learning technique that's different.

    What im doing for the gmat is follow a 8 week study plan, and since I'm just like you (I'm not able to fully concentrate to study after work) I decided to change my routine. So I study from 6am to 9am every week day, which makes a looooot more sense to me. I can learn much better at time time. I feel that these 3h in the morning are better than 5h I'd get in the end of the day. On the weekends I study 5h or 6h a day.
    And to add on that I took 10 vacation days leading up to my gmat date, so I can focus to study full-time. Wish me luck, my exam date is 21/10/2020 📚🤓
    By the way, I'll be applying to schools in Germany (ESMT, hhl and WHU), so I'm aiming 650 on the gmat 😊

    • @FirmLearning
      @FirmLearning  4 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      Hi, indeed pretty special :) Have the impression that the schools try to on purpose admit some people with low GMATs just to prove the point that a high GMAT is not absolutely required. You can trust that these will just be absolute outliers, the vast majority of the class will have a high score. He will for sure have a special profile (maybe sports olympian, high in military etc.) that compensated for the low GMAT. Best! Heinrich

    Thank you for your video! I’m taking my gmat test in a week. I studied all the Manhattan strategy books and did exercises from the OG books. My first mock was around 600. Here are my questions:
    - What would you suggest to do for the next 7 days?
    - Should I buy the economist gmat tutor? Did you use it?
    - How can I understand which ones are my weaknesses I should focus on?
    Every tutor say that it’s impossible to increase +100 in a week, but you made it! So I hope I can get some better insights :) thank you!

    • @FirmLearning
      @FirmLearning  4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Hi Giada,
      Thanks for your comment!
      Would NOT buy the economist gmat tutor for only 7 days. It is not long enough to make best use of it. Also make sure to not do a mock exam in the 1-2 days before the exam to not stress you out and exhaust you too much.
      What mock test did you take, they usually come with an analysis in the end showing you in which area you performed well and not well? This can be a starting point for your weaknesses to further improve.
      Yes, very confident that you can improve by more than 100 in a week, though of course also depends on how much time you already invested.
      Lots of success to you!!
      Best, Heinrich

    I have my Gmat exam in 3 weeks and I scored 550 on my last practice test. I think my verbal section needs little more practice-- specifically the reading comprehension part. Can you please advise some material which can help me ace the verbal part of the test in this limited time frame. • @adamgarceau
      @adamgarceau 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@FirmLearning thanks for your reply!
      If anyone finds this comment with the same question, I actually did some research. The 6th edition has everything IN THE BOOKS that you need, and it’s still more than enough. But if you can’t find a copy with the access codes, you can get the 7th edition which has the same stuff, but it’s reorganized. The other caveat to the 7th edition is it only has the advanced material as online content (not talking about the advanced quant book, because that’s separate anyway).
      So if you want to get 700+, you need that advanced material (which I’ve heard is difficult to access in the online content for some reason).
      You also need to get the road map book, which they removed in the newer edition. I bought it used for about $12.
      The foundations of verbal and foundations of math are free as kindle books from Amazon. So that’s a good place to start while you wait for your books to arrive.
      Hope this helps!

      Hi Jakub, for business programs, GMAT should indeed be the global standard and I do think there are some schools that will not accept GRE (at least few years ago when I applied). Also, GMAT is more important for b-schools for the rankings, therefore getting a very high GMAT might help you more in your application as a very high GRE (as you are improving their scores for the rankings). Do you think class prep is mandatory or individual coaching on specific area is enough ? The main difference regarding the scratch pad (to the degree I remember) was that the one at the test center was white, while the Manhattan one was yellow. Though it could be that the scratch pad differs by test center. However, it seems to be regulated that it always needs to be laminated paper.
      I remember it to be a couple of independent luminated sheets (not bound together in a "booklet" as the Manhattan one), do not remember anymore how many exactly but I did not had the problem that I was lacking "space" to write my thoughts on (there were enough sheets provided).
